Apparatus of rotating disk and cup are widely used spray paintings and industrial boilers. This study was conducted experimentally to investigate the characteristics of liquid atomization in a rotating disk atomizer by means of viscous liquid mixed water and glycerin. The Purpose of this study are to observe breakup mechanism according to the variation of supplied flow rate $0.4{\sim}30 cm^3/s$ and rotating speed $200{\sim}4000rpm$, and to investigate three kinds of breakup Pattern such as drop ligament and film formation by comparing the transition flow rate. ligament number and ligament length to those of Tanasawa and Matsumoto's empirical formula. The results are as follows ; The higher it makes use of viscous liquid. the better it get the characteristics of breakup mechanism. Also When I compared practical value with experiential value at similar test conditions. it was shown similar tendency though were a little variation.

안전점검 분야는 1995년 “시설물의 안전관리에 관한 특별법” 공포 이후 조사방법 및 평가방법 등에 있어 점진적인 기술발전을 이루어 왔으나, 기술자의 현장조사시 습득된 손상정보에 대한 기록 및 시설물 평가 절차가 수작업 위주의 아날로그식 방법으로 수행되고 있어 기록상의 오류가 평가결과의 오류로 연계되고 있으며 안전점검 분야 전체의 신뢰도 저하로 이어지고 있는 것이 안전점검 분야의 현실이다. 이에 현장에서 기술자에 의해 취득된 손상 정보 등을 디지털식 기록을 통하여 직접 전산화 함으로써 현장에서 발생될 수 있는 기록오류를 최소화 하고 디지털화된 손상정보를 활용한 대상 시설물에 대한 상태평가 자동화를 통해 안전점검 분야의 신뢰도 향상과 현장기술자의 고충 해결을 위한 스마트 손상망도 프로그램과 상태 평가 자동화 프로그램의 개발 및 현장 적용 가능성을 검토함.
건강한 남성에서 혈중 감마지티피 수준과 공복혈당장애 (IFG)의 발생 위험도: 2년 추적 연구

Objectives: An increase in the serum gamma-glutamyltransferase (GGT) concentration has been regarded as a marker of alcohol drinking or liver disease. Some reports, however, have suggested that the serum GGT may be a sensitive and early biomarker for the development of prediabetes and diabetes. In this study we investigated whether serum GGT is a reliable predictor of the incident impaired fasting glucose (IFG), including diabetes. Methods: We performed a prospective study for two years (2002-2004). We analyzed the periodic health examination data from a total of 4,711 men. The examinations were done in the years 2002 and 2004. The analyzed data included a self-questionnaire, a physical examination and the laboratory results. Both IFG and diabetes were defined as a serum fasting glucose concentration of more than 100 mg/dL and 126 mg/dL, respectively. Results: A total of 738 cases (15.7%) of incident IFG and 13 cases (0.3%) of diabetes occurred. The mean serum GGT concentrations were quite different between the normal (38.0 IU) and incident IFG groups (50.3 IU), and the incident diabetes group (66.0 IU) (p<0.001). After multivariable adjustment, the relative risks for incident IFG or diabetes across the baseline GGT categories (<10th, 10th-20th, 30th-40th, 50th-60th, 70th-80th and >90th percentile) were 1.0, 1.172 (0.769-1.785), 1.107 (0.725-1.689), 1.444 (0.934-2.232), 2.061 (1.401-3.031) and 2.545 (1.784-3.631) (p-value for trend: <0.001). The risks significantly increased with increasing levels of GGT for 2 years; when comparing the increased groups (<10%, 10-20%, >20%) versus the decreased over 20% group of GGT, the risks for IFG or diabetes were 1.334 (1.002-1.776), 1.613 (1.183-2.199) and 1.399 (1.092-1.794). Conclusions: Our findings suggest that serum GGT concentrations within its normal range may be an early predictor of the development of IFG and diabetes. As serum GGT is a relatively inexpensive test and a reliable marker, it might have important implications in public health promotion.
작동유체에 따른 초음속 제트유동에 의해 생성되는 충격파 영향에 관한 수치해석

고압을 사용하는 초음속 제트기술은 작동유체와 관련하여 다양한 형태의 산업 및 공학응용분야에 널리 이용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 고압파이프에서 분출되는 초음속 제트유동에 의해 생성되는 충격파의 영향을 고찰하기 위해 ANSYS FLUENT v.16를 가지고 SST k-⍵ 난류모델을 적용하여 작동유체(공기, 산소, 수소)에 따른 압력비 및 Mach수의 유동특성을 해석하였다. CFD 해석시 경계조건으로 입구의 가스온도는 300 K이고, 압력비율은 5:1로 설정하였으며, 밀도함수는 이상기체 의 법칙을 이용하였고, 점성함수는 Sutherland 점성의 법칙을 이용하였다. 그 해석결과로 작동유체의 밀도가 작은 기체일수록 분출거리에 따라 압력비가 더 크게 떨어짐을 알 수 있었고, Mach수는 작동유체의 밀도가 높을수록 낮음을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 작동유체의 밀도에 따라 충격파의 영향이 크다는 점을 알았다. 본 연구를 토대로 다양한 작동유체에 따른 제트의 형상 및 직경 변화, 압력비의 변화 등에 따른 초음속 제트유동이 충격파에 미치는 영향에 대한 실험 및 CFD 해석연구와 실증연구가 병행하여 진행된다면 해석결과의 신뢰성은 더 높아질 것으로 사료된다 Supersonic jet technology using high pressures has been popularly utilized in diverse industrial and engineering areas related to working fluids. In this study, to consider the effects of a shock wave caused by supersonic jet flow from a high pressure pipe, the SST turbulent flow model provided in the ANSYS FLUENT v.16 was applied and the flow characteristics of the pressure ratio and Mach number were analyzed in accordance with the working fluids (air, oxygen, and hydrogen). Before carrying out CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis, it was presumed that the inlet gas temperature was 300 K and pressure ratio was 5 : 1 as the boundary conditions. The density function was derived from the ideal gas law and the viscosity function was derived from Sutherland viscosity law. The pressure ratio along the ejection distance decreased more in the lower density working fluids. In the case of the higher density working fluids, however, the Mach number was lower. This shows that the density of the working fluids has a considerable effect on the shock wave. Therefore, the reliability of the analysis results were improved by experiments and CFD analysis showed that supersonic jet flow affects the shock wave by changing shape and diameter of the jet, pressure ratio, etc. according to working fluids.
V8형 TCI 디젤기관의 배출가스저감 및 성능개선에 관한 연구

The purpose of this study is experimentally to analyze the effects of intake port swirl, injection system and turbocharger on the engine performance and the emission characteristics in a V8 type turbocharger intercooler D.I. diesel engine of the displacement 16.7L, and to suggest the improvement of engine performance. Generally to enhance engine power, TCI diesel engine is put to practically use turbocharged intercooler in order to increase volume efficiency which is cooled boost air. As results of considering the factors of the intake port of swirl ratio 2.25, compression ratio 17.5. re-entrant $8.5^{\circ}$ combustion bowl, nozzle hole diameter ${\phi}0.33{\ast}3+{\phi}0.35{\ast}2$. nozzle protrusion 3.18mm, injection timing BTDC $12^{\circ}CA$ and turbocharger(compressor 0.6A/R+46Trim. turbine 1.0 A/R+57Trim) is the best in the full load in the engine performance and the exhaust characteristics of NOx concentration. Therefore. their factors are appropriated as intake system, injection and turbocharger system.

Objectives : This study was performed to examine the influence of smoking on the blood cadmium concentration in university students. Methods : The study included 300 university students. A questionnaire interview was used to collect data. The urine cotinine and blood cadmium levels were measured as biological exposure indices. The data were analyzed using t-tests ANOVA and ANCOVA. Results : The median value of blood cadmium concentration was equal in both males and females ($0.8{\mu}g/l$). This level was relatively low in comparison with the reference value suggested by WHO (2001). ANCOVA showed that smoking related variables, urine cotinine and smoking amount, were significantly associated with the blood cadmium level (P=0.004, 0.015). However, the values with regard to traffic related air pollution were not significantly associated with the blood cadmium level. Conclusions : Smoking is an important source of nonoccupational cadmium exposure in young people. The Blood cadmium level is at least 10% higher in active smokers than in passive or nonsmokers. The level of urine cotinine can be used as an indicator of non-occupational exposure of respirable cadmium due to smoking, as there is a good correlation bestween smoking amount and the urine cotinine level.

Although, mercury (Hg) is not a naturally abundant element in the environment, residues frequently occur in many environmental compartments because of widespread contamination from industrial and agricultural practices. This research evaluated Hg-B concentrations of general population who was not occupationally exposed. And also evaluates the association between life factor and health effect with Hg-B concentration of general adult through interrelationship estimation and index about kidney function and oxidative damage that appeared by questionnaire survey and medical examination. Average concentration of Hg-B was 3.19 $\mu$g/L (ND$\sim$8.64 $\mu$g/L), and persons who exceed mercury exposure level (5 $\mu$g/L) presented in WHO (1990) appeared by 16 (7.0%). High-risk group (smoking and meat main intake group) had significantly higher Hg-B concentration than low-risk group (non-smoking and vegetable diet main intake group) (p < 0.05, low-risk group: 3.30 $\mu$g/L (ND$\sim$8.64 $\mu$g/L), high-risk group: 4.27 $\mu$g/L (ND$\sim$7.84 $\mu$g/L).
