This paper proposes a simulation model which evaluates operation plans of container terminal. The operation plans of container terminal consist of berth plan, load plan, unload plan, yard plan, and equipment plan. It is discussed how to apply the simulation method to evaluate those plans. Simulation analysis is based on data about plans from the operation planning system through an interface program. It is discussed what we should got in the simulation, for example, the statistics about container-handling equipment such as container cranes, transfer cranes, yard tractors, and trailers used in the transportation of containers.

Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) is a widely used technique to assess or to improve reliability of products at early stage of design and development. Traditionally, the prioritization of failures for corrective actions is performed by developing a risk priority number (RPN). In practice, due to insufficient evaluation criteria specific to related product and processes, RPN is not properly evaluated. This paper reestablishes an effective methodology for prioritization of failure modes in FMEA procedure. Revised evaluation criteria of RPN are devised and a refined FMEA sheet is introduced. To verify the proposed methodology, it is applied to RPN evaluation for motors in household appliances.

Maintenance equipments, tools, manuals and documents are needed to maintain weapon systems. At the time, a lot of technical materials are maintained and used individually at various places and organizations. Thus, maintenance engineers can rot get the necessary informations quickly and the efficiency of maintenance is low. In this paper, first we analyze maintenance processes in weapon systems and define the total measure to evaluate the maintenance efficiency of weapon systems. Second, we propose an implementation procedure to integrated maintenance system.

The purpose of this study is to analyze death injuries and operation troubles of urban transit. No difference was shown in death rates between Line 1 of Pusan urban transit and Line 5, 7, and 8 of Seoul metropolitan transit. And relief time by another train did not depend upon the number of crews. We concluded that thorough inspection and preventive maintenance of trains and facilities are necessary for safe and timely service of urban transit.
