장성록,류홍제,옥승복 전력전자학회 2011 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.11 No.4
This paper presents a water treatment system for leachate from sewage-filled ground that uses a pulsed-power modulator developed based on semiconductor switches in order to realize a long life, a high repetition rate, and a fast rising time. The specifications of the developed pulsed-power modulator are the pulsed output voltage, the output current, the pulse repetition rate (PRR), the pulse width, and an average output power of 60 kV_max, 300 A_max, 3000, 50 μs, and 15 kW, respectively. The pulsed-power water treatment system was introduced and analyzed using an equivalent electrical circuit model to optimize the output voltage waveform. The experimental results verify that the proposed water treatment system can be effectively used for industrial applications.

Work-related musculoskeletal disorders constitute a major source of employee disability and lost wages. Cumulative Trauma Disorders(CTD) refers to a category of physical conditions which result from chronic musculoskeletal injury. Assessment of CTD risk in industry at early stage allows for early control, a safe environment, and a healthier workforce. In this study, the physical load of the shipping work in the cold storage warehouse were especially investigated. Employees were working with almost unnatural posture in a very restricted work space. The questionnaire and biomechanical analysis were used to evaluate the physical load. Results from analyses showed that they were sufficiently exposed to CTD due to repetition and unnatural posture. Based on the analysis ways for improving working conditions are proposed. The analysis and proposals in this paper will serve as a basic tool for designing/redesigning working environment such as improvement such as improvement of tools and equipments, design of times work/rest cycle.

Automation and mechanization of work make people put the machine into operation and control the state of operation. In the process of those works they are apt to have accidents caused by their carelessness. To reduce such accidents, we can practice "TOUCH '||'&'||' CALL", which is to indicate and ascertain the dangerous parts at every process before performing tasks. The objectives of this study are to examine the effects of S-R compatibility and to show quantitatively the efficiency of TOUCH '||'&'||' CALL. The results show that: 1. Reaction time in case of indicating with fingers and shouting is slightly longer (0.138sec. .approx. 0.279sec. ) than that of responding only visually. However, the error rate decreases by 1/3.3 .approx. 1/4.2 times. Frome this, it is considered to verify quantitative estimation on multiple feedback of TOUCH '||'&'||' CALL. 2. In the stimulus-response relation aspect, numeric numeric stimulus-numeric response shows lower error rate (0.033% .approx. 0.133%) than any other stimulus-response relation, ahd shorter reaction time is proven ( 0.556sec. .approx. 0.835sec. ). These data suggest that having the order of stimulus-response arranged in accordance with the experimental knowledges and conceptional compatibility can bring down the error rate considerably.

This study is plan to show what kinds of problems we have and how we can overcome problems about occupational safety and health education and training system in Korea, Some features which advanced countries had were found and characterized as follows; First, advanced countries realized the importance of safety and health education on the role of preventing accident and they had varieties of training and education programs on the industrial safety and health for employer and worker. Second, there were many safety and health education programs and grants which especially focused to the small businesses. Third, they had also several programs to induce employer and worker's concerning about the safety and health education voluntarily, In conclusion, we introduced some inducing models, and proposed to revise contents of the education programs and to increase participation of other parties in safety and health education market so that could vitalize our safety and health education and training.

Despite rapid technological advance and increased automation facilities, many jobs and activities in our living require manual materials handling(MMH). These include wide variety of activities such as moving things, lifting bags, boxes or cartons, etc. Many studies found that handle could affect on maximum acceptable weight of lifting, but there were few studies for the effects of work posture and coupling in lifting tote box. This study performed that ten male college students were required to lift a tote box with and without handle for three postures (bending, straight, right angle posture). From the experiment, following results were obtained. (1) MVC reduced maximum 23% by type of handle. (2) MVC was highest in straight posture, but was lowest in right angle posture. (3) As a result of ANOVA, MVC paid attention to posture and coupling. (p<0.01) (4) To all handle types. biceps brachii activity was increased in right angle posture, but reduced in straight posture. (5) To all posture, biceps brachii activity was most lively in no handle. The results of MVC measurement, subjective rating. EMG analysis, statistic analysis showed that maximum acceptable weight of lifting was influenced by type of handle and straight posture was more comfortable than other postures. Based on these results. it was concluded that acceptable weight of lifting has to differ for work posture and coupling.

In this paper, the design of three types of power supplies for 30 kW and 60 kW industrial magnetron drives, high voltage power supply, filament power supply and magnet power supply, are studied. The high voltage power supply was designed based on series resonant converter discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) to take advantage of a clean current source that can cover the nonlinear characteristic of a magnetron, such as a zener diode. The maximum output specification of a high voltage power supply is 42.5 kW for a 30 kW industrial magnetron drive. This can also be used for a 60 kW magnetron with a parallel operation of two power supplies. The design considerations and feasibility tests of a resonant converter for an industrial magnetron are given. Additionally, the design of two auxiliary power supplies (a filament power supply: 15 V, 120 A and a magnet power supply: 75V, 5A) is also provided. These were designed based on the series resonant converter continuous conduction mode (CCM), above resonance operation for higher efficiency. Finally, the developed power supplies were tested using both a 30 kW magnetron and a 60kW magnetron. The results prove the design procedure and reliability of the proposed scheme.

According to a recent report, Korea first reached aging society in 2000 and it is forecasted that the number of aged people over 65 years old will increase from 7.13% (2000) to 14% or more of total population in Korea in 2022. As many aged peoples are employed as day labor under the financial circumstances after Korean Financial Crisis, it is critical that we should take safety control measures for them Thus, this study focused on analyzing aged accidents in terms of their characteristics, based on the actual trend of industrial accidents form 1996 to 2001 and the applications of medical treatment for the affected or wounded in Busan metropolitan area for recent 3 years (1999 to 2001) in order to analyze accident characteristics to cope with emergent aging period. As a result of analyzing the above data by job type, it was found that the construction work amounted to 38% of total job type. This result implies that accidents of the aged often occurs in 3D jobs including construction works without reasonable automation, which requires us to establish some preventive policies against those accidents. Moreover, it is found that rapid increasing accidents such as upset or occupational diseases or damages are typically attributed to those in the aged, mainly because the aged employees over 55 years old often have disadvantageous physical conditions such as relatively degraded balance and muscular control ability comparing to the younger. Therefore, it is recommended that we should make effective safety policies for the aged and actively apply those policies to them. Moreover, it is required that we should encourage them to actively participate in safety compliance through corresponding trainings.
