        The purpose of this study was to investigate the variations of the skeletal and dentoalveolar dimensions in relation to vertical facial patterns. Lateral cephalogram of 200 cases (100 cases of male and 100 cases of female, average age of which was 23.2 years) were traced and some measurements of skeletal and dentoalveolar dimensions were measured. The ratio of UAFH/LAFH was employed to classify the samples into groups of excess and short lower anterior facial height. And the comparison between two groups were taken statistacally. The following results were obtained 1. The dentoalveolar height, lower anterior facial height, lower gonial angle, and FMA in the excess-lower-anterior-facial-height group were significantly larger than those in short-lower-anterior-facialheight group. 2. The dentoalveolar height, facial height, ramts height, and Jarabak ratio in the male subjects were significantly larger than those in the female subjects. 3. The UAFH/LAFH ratio showed a significant correlation to upper, lower facial height, AUDH, PUDH, ALDH, PLDH, Lower gonial angle, FMA, and Bjark' s Sum.

      • 금속알콕시드 및 겔 실리카로부터 LAS계 투명결정화유리의 합성

        Glass of composition Li_(2)O·Al_(2)O_(3)·4SiO_(2)·0.10ZrO_(2)·0.03P_(2)O_(5) was prepared by the sol-gel technique from alkoxides solution with emulsified silica, and heat-treated to make a transparent glass-ceramics. The multicomponent gels are obtained by hydrolysis and poly-condensation reactions of metal-alkoxides of Si, Al, Li, P, and Zr. Transparent glass-ceramic without devitrification can only be obtained by heat-treatment at 750℃ for 2ns from the gel-glass.

        The purpose of this investigation was to prepare high efficiency infrared radiant by glasses, glass-ceramics and ceramics made from mixture of several kinds of transitional element oxide. In the 1st report, the glasses and the glass-ceramics(LAS) have the possibility of using as the new high temperature infrared radiant material, that were confirmed. So, in this 2nd report, the infrared radiation effect of glass-ceramic(LAS) by sol-gel method and infrared radiants were developed by sintered LAS-glass with several kinds of transitional metal oxide, ferrite spinel and silicon carbide, respectively. In a mixture consitituted by the LAS-glass, as main material and addition of transitional oxides, ferrite spinel and silicon carbide ingredients as adjunct materials. As the result, the crystallized bulk glass-ceramic by sol-gel method has the properties of not only high surface area and ultra-low thermal expansion, but also high infrared radiation than the conventional LAS glass-ceramic. However, these mixed ceramics were higher radiation infrared radiants than the LAS glass-ceramic radiant.

        회전날개주위 분자천이유동에 관한 수치해석적 연구

        Pumping performances of a helical molecular drag dump(MDP) and of a radial MDPs are numerically analyzed by using the direct simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) method. A helical- and radial-MDP have rotating pumping channels cut on a cylinder and on a disk, respectively. For a helical MDP, the present results agree quantitatively with the previously known numerical results. For radial MDPs, both of the Type 1 (having pumping channels cut on the stationary disk) and of the Type 2 (having pumping channels cut on the rotating disk) are analyzed to predict their performances for various parameters, i.e., the radius of curvature center of the channel wall, the depth of the channel, the clearance between housing and disk, and the rotating speed. The results show that the performance of the Type 2 is superior to that of the Type 1, and that for all types the pumping efficiency decreases as the clearance increases. Also, the radial type MDP has larger leakage losses in the direction of pumping channel than does the helical one.

      • 졸-겔法에 依한 塊狀乾燥겔 및 結晶化 유리의 合成

        The purpose of this study was to prepare multicomponent dried monolithic gelof composition Li₂O·Al₂O₃·2SiO₂ and the monolithic glass-ceramic of low thermal expansion properly. The hydrolysis, DTA, TGA, SEM and pore distribution of the gel, and thermal expansion of a glass-ceramic formation with a raw materials of which metal alkoxide of network-forming cations(Si and Al) are tetraethyl orthosilicate, aluminum isopropoxide, aluminum sec-buoxide and lithium methoxide. The results are as follows: 1) The monolithic gels which were added with additional water, resulfing in a total water content 2.0 to 3.0 times the stoichiometeric amount required to fully hydrolyze the alkoxides. 2) Crystalline phases were detected β-cucryptite, β-spodumene and β-quartz. 3) The thermal expansion coefficient was shown with -4.8∼13×10^-7/C.

        후방경유요추 수술 후 근육 관련 효소의 변화

        Objective:Creatine phosphokinase-MM(CPK-MM) and lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) are well known indices of muscular injury. To know the degree of muscular injury during spinal surgery, the author report serial measurement of serum CPK-MM and LDH4 level. Methods : The authors investigated 23 patients who underwent lumbar spinal surgery without bone fusion or instrumentation. Peripheral venous blood samples were serially collected 1 day before surgery, operation day, postoperative 3rd, 7th, 14th and 28th day. Postoperative back pain was measured by visual analogue scale. We evaluated the relationship between number of operation level, serial changes of serum CPK-MM, LDH4, duration of surgery and postoperative back pain. Results : CPK-MM activity was higher after surgery than before it and reached at maximal level on the postoperative 3rd day, and it was returned to normal level on the postoperative 7th day. The score of postoperative back pain scale was the highest on the postoperative 3rd day. CPK-MM activity was significantly correlated with operation level, duration of surgery, and postoperative back pain(P<0.05). In contrast, serum level of LDH4 showed no significant correlation with duration of surgery(P>0.05). Conclusion : Postoperative muscle injury is inevitable in all patient who underwent spinal surgery, and these injuries are related extent of exposure and duration of surgery. To reduce muscle injury and postoperative back pain, less invasive and shorter surgery in time is recommend. Key words:Creatine phosphokinase MM;lactate dehydrogenase;Postoperative back pain.

      • SiO₂-AI₂O₃-B₂O₃-CaO-Na₂O계의 유리섬유에 관한 연구

        내 약품성이 양호한 저 알칼리 유리섬유를 제조하기 위하여 도가니 용융법에 의한 연속식 휘라멘트(continuous flament)법12)으로 4종의 저알카리 유리섬유를 제조하였다. 섬유의 제조조건에 의한 물성의 변화와 이를 섬유에 대한 안전성을 규명하였다. 유리성분 중 Al2O3 및 B2O3가 함유된 유리 일지라도 Na2O가 증가 함에 따라 내 약품성이 떠러졌고, 섬유가 굵고 수지로 표면처리된 유리섬유는 안전하였고, 특히 유리섬유는 수지처리에 의하여 내후성이 개선되어 경시변화가 적었음을 나타내고 있다. 본 실험에서는 기초유리에 0.25% Li2O를 첨가한 유리를 1,100℃에서 9∼20μ의 유리섬유로 방사가 가능하였고, 인장강도가 90kg/mm2이상이었다. This paper presents the result of an experimental stogy on the spinner glass fibers of sodium-calcium-alumina-borosilicate glass. The glass fiber was shinned through high-alumina bushing with nozzles at the rate of 500 to 900 m./min. at 1,050˚ to 1,100℃. Physical and chemical properties of monofilament were conducted on 4 kinds of glass fibers. Specimens treated at the specified condition were examined in terms of tensile strength, fiber diameter, chemical durability, and weathering. The results are summarized as follows (1) Specimens composed of glass fiber based on high aluminaborosilicate glass show favorable stability, high tensile strength, good weathering resistance and chemical durability. (2) Resin-coacted fiber gives remarkable chemical durability with increasing diameter.

        드래프트 조건이 조사의 섬유응집력에 미치는 영향

        It is well known that the fibers and the slivers to be assembled into roving or yarn need to meet certain criteria in terms of cohesion and drafting characteristics for trouble-free performance in spinning and for optimum yarn evenness. The cohesive force is defined as the force required to overcome fiber cohesion when the strand is being reduced in linear density and affects the drafting force. Experience has shown that the drafting force declines with increasing length of draft zone, and with increasing draft, but individual tests need to be performed to determine the extent and whether this is the case for all types of fibers. In this study the effects of drafting conditions such as draft ratio, roller speed, roller gauge, and the pressure of roller on the cohesive force of cotton, junlon, and modal roving were investigated. It was found that cohesive force declined with increasing draft ratio and likewise with increasing drafting zone length, but increased with increasing roller speed. For the raw materials investigated in this paper, cohesive force exhibited a decline with increasing draft ratio. And it was shown that the cohesive force of roving was also dependent on the roving twist.
