While the request of diesel engine is recently increased due to its excellent fuel economy, the emission regulation becomes reinforced. In the case of EURO-6 that is started from 2014 and required 60% NOx reduction compared with EURO-5, It could be satisfied by hybrid system consist of advanced EGR(Exhaust Gas Recirculation) and aftertreatment system (LNT or SCR). Advanced EGR system have been used LP-EGR (Low Pressure Loop EGR) and HP-EGR (High Pressure Loop EGR) simultaneously. In this paper, we investigated the generation of condensate in inter-cooler according to LPL EGR application in TCI diesel engine.

This study is estimate the application of polycarbonate polymer glazing application for automotive. The polymer glazing made out of poly carbonate by compressed process. The manufacturing system is useful to the trend of automotive industry. The comfortable and safety test is very important matter for car application of polymer glazing. The one test is NVH test and the others is fatigue test. The NVH tests are noise and vibration test at accelerated mode and model road. Each test is make comparison between glass and polymer. The noise property is shown about 70~75㏈. So, there is no difference glass and polycarbonate. The vibration property compared with polymer, glass is batter about 50%. But there is insensitive, no difference between glass and polymer. And fatigue test is very superior in polycarbonate glazing. It is shown 80㎜ of displacement and the restoration is reach stage of perfection. We propose the test guideline about car application of polymer glazing.

It is well known that two representative methods satisfy the condition of EURO-Ⅳ regulation from EURO-Ⅲ. The first method is the reduction of NOx in an engine operation by utilizing EGR and the elimination of increased PM by DPF. However, it results in bad fuel efficiency. The second is the strategy to reduce PM and emit the high NOx concentration. In other words, the concentration of PM produced by high efficiency combustion sufficiently meets the requirement of regulation, and NOx generated in this process can be removed by SCR system. While it has a good fuel efficiency relative to the first method mentioned above, its social infrastructure is demanded. In this paper, the number distribution of nano PM has been evaluated analyzed by Electrical Low Pressure Impactor(ELPI) in case of Urea-SCR system applied. From the results, The particle number was increased slightly in proportion to the amount of urea injection on Fine Particle Region, whether AOC is used or not.

The PM deposit of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler has become a significant issue for compliance with exhaust emissions standards. EGR coolers are mainly used on diesel engines to reduce intake charge temperature and thus reduce emissions of NOx and Pariculate matter(PM). PM deposition in the EGR cooler reduces heat transfer efficiency of the cooler and increases emissions and pressure drop across the cooler. In this study, engine dynamometer using the PM deposited EGR cooler. The cooling performance experimental of EGR cooler were carried out to determine the effects of PM deposition. As the PM deposited to EGR cooler, these formed a thin deposit layer that was less heat exchange than the fresh status of tube enclosing the exhaust gas, resulting in lower heat exchange effectiveness in cooler. Also, these deposits results in decreased differential pressure of EGR cooler.
