This paper analyzes the equilibrium level of R&D subsidy or tax from international markets without a leader and with one in an uncertain world. Governments in each of the two countries simultaneously select R&D subsidy or tax in an attempt to shift profits in favor of domestic, imperfectly competitive firms. It is shown that: (i) the optimal level of R&D subsidy or tax with a leading firm is zero for all the degree of differentiation between goods. The optimal policy with a following firm is the imposition of an R&D tax when the goods are sufficiently less differentiated and an R&D subsidy when the goods are sufficiently differentiated; (ii) the government with a leading firm in the international market provides higher R&D subsidies to the domestic firm than the international markets without a leader. The government with a following firm in the international market provides lower R&D subsidies to the domestic firm than the international markets without a leader if the goods are sufficiently less differentiated, and vice versa, if the goods are sufficiently differentiated; and (iii) expected welfare for the country with a leading firm can be lower than the international markets without a leader if the goods are sufficiently less differentiated and covariance of two random variables is positive and relatively great. Expected welfare for the country with a following firm can be greater than the international markets without a leader if the goods are sufficiently less differentiated and covariance of two random variables is positive and relatively small. Furthermore, this finding holds for the more differentiated goods with uncertainty.
래더링 기법을 통한 한식당 이용 외국인의 추구 가치 분석

The present study attempted to offer more insights into the foreign consumers` consumption decision structure of Korean restaurants located in foreign countries. A survey was designed based on the means-end chain theory, using the laddering interview technique. The qualitative data obtained from 10 Americans, 10 Japanese, and 10 Chinese were content analyzed and resulted in categories such as `new experience`, `interest in Korea`, `recommendation`, `good food`, `easy to access`, `service`, `dining environment`, and `price` as perceived attributes of choice. The hierarchical value maps linking attributes, psychological consequences, and terminal values were presented. The most frequent consequences were `experience new culture`, `be exposed to new experience`, and `learn more about Korea` which were related to `happiness`, `pleasure`, `good relationship`, `desire fulfillment`, and `self-satisfaction` as personal values. Laddering interviews, which required laborious analysis, provided important information on the relationship between perceived attributes and the reasons for choosing Korean restaurants.
IEC 61970 표준을 적용한 SCADA Pilot 시스템의 개념설계

SCADA(Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) 시스템은 진력 운전 상태의 감시 및 제어 기능을 수행함으로써 설비 운영에 대한 신뢰성과 안전성을 제고시킴은 물론이고 실시간 현장 데이터를 수집하여 처리 분석하고 설비 운영의 최적화를 이루도록 하는 감시제어시스템이다[1]. 이와 같이 중요한 시스템이지만, 현재 운영중인 SCADA 시스템은 전력시스템과 IT가 결합하여 시너지 효과를 최대화하고 있는 현 상황을 감안할 때, 정보교환 측면, 유연성 측면, 확장성 측면, 유지보수 측면에서 여러 문제점을 안고 있다. 이러한 문제점의 주요한 원인은 제조사 마다 비 표준화된 모델을 사용함에 따른 상호 호환성 확보가 어렵고, 시스템의 운영 기반이 제한된 오픈시스템 환경이 아니기 때문이다. IEC에서는 이러한 문제점을 해소하기 위해, IEC 61970 규격서에 전력시스템 운영시 요구되는 항목과 정보교환 방식을 공통 정보모델(CIM, Common Information Model)[2,3]을 정의하여 전력시스템 구축과 애플리케이션 간의 정보교환에 사용하도록 권고하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 시스템을 개발하기 위한 선행 연구로서, SCADA 시스템에 CIM을 적용하기 위한 구성요소와 기술을 도출하며, CIM을 적용한 SCADA pilot 시스템의 개념 설계를 결과를 제시한다.
산림자원 영상에서 N각형 탐색 기법을 이용한 개선된 원 추출

산림청에서는 산림자원의 통계와 활용을 위해 매년 산림자원인 목재의 검척을 실시하고 있지만 업무의 특성상 조사 표본에 대한 접근이 용이하지 않으며 대상의 개수가 너무 많아 인력에 의한 수동 검척에는 한계가 있다. 이에 디지털 영상에서 산림자원들의 지름을 자동으로 검척하기 위한 새로운 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 기법을 사용할 경우 50%이상의 인식률을 보이고 있다. Each year, the Forest Service performs measurements to gather statistics regarding on the forest resources and forest character. However, this is not easily obtainable information due to the lack of human accessibility to the survey sample. I proposed a new method to gather data which utilizes the technology of digital imaging. This new method allows over 50% of the sample to be viewable.
정제 알고리즘을 이용한 한국인 화자의 영어 발화 자동 진단 시스템

We propose an automatic pronunciation diagnosis system to evaluate the pronunciation of a foreign language without the uttered text. We recorded English utterances spoken by native and Korean speakers, and utterances spoken by Koreans are evaluated by native speakers based on three criteria: fluency, accuracy of phones and intonation. The system evaluates the utterances of test Korean speakers based on the differences of log-likelihood given two models: one is trained by English speech uttered by native speakers, and the other is trained by English speech uttered by Korean speakers. We also applied purification algorithm to increase class differentiability. The purification can detect and eliminate the non-speech frames such as short pauses, occlusive silences that do not help to discriminate between utterances. As the results, our proposed system has higher correlation with the human scores than the baseline system.
