Cluster Analysis of the Incidence of National Notifiable Infectious Diseases by Region

Establishing regional infection control units is vital for effective national infection control. Therefore, an in-depth segmentation strategy is required. The annual incidence rates of Korea national notifiable infectious diseases in 16 different regions from 2001 to 2016 were analyzed using K-means clustering. Four clusters from non-normalized and normalized analyses were obtained for the annual incidence rates of these diseases by region. This study demonstrates the possibility of developing objective and reproducible approaches to regional segmentation for national infection control.
Genome-Wide Association Study of Medication Adherence in Chronic Diseases in the Korean Population

Medication adherence is generally defined as the extent of voluntary cooperation of a patient in taking medicine asprescribed. Adherence to long-term treatment with chronic disease is essential for reducing disease comorbidity andmortality. However, medication non-adherence in chronic disease averages 50%. This study was conducted a genome-wideassociation study to identify the genetic basis of medication adherence. A total of 235 medication non-adherents and 1,067medication adherents with hypertension or diabetes were used from the Korean Association Resource project data accordingto the self-reported treatment status of each chronic disease, respectively. We identified four single nucleotide polymorphismswith suggestive genome-wide association. The most significant single nucleotide polymorphism was rs6978712(chromosome 7, p = 4.87 × 10−7), which is located proximal to the GCC1 gene, which was previously implicated indecision-making capability in drug abusers. Two suggestive single nucleotide polymorphisms were in strong linkagedisequilibrium (r2 > 0.8) with rs6978712. Thus, in the aspect of decision-making in adherence behavior, the associationbetween medication adherence and three loci proximal to the GCC1 gene seems worthy of further research. However, toovercome a few limitations in this study, defining the standardized phenotype criteria for self-reported adherence should beperformed before replicating association studies.

Escherichia coli (E. coli) is a clinically important causative organism that can lead to urinary tract infections. Quinolone antibiotics are among the first-line treatments for urinary tract infections. However, the frequency of resistance to quinolone in E. coli has been increasing. Therefore, new antimicrobial agents that can be used for treatment in lieu of quinolone antibiotics are needed. In this study, thirty-six compounds with higher scores in a virtual screening based on the threedimensional structure of E. coli DNA gyrase were selected for in vitro antimicrobial activity testing. An in vitro test confirmed the antimicrobial activity of 4-[(1-methyl-6-nitroquinolin-1-ium-4-yl)amino]-N-[4-[(1-methylpyridin-1-ium- 4-yl)amino]phenyl]benzamide (ZINC18057104) against E. coli among the 36 compounds. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of ZINC18057104 against E. coli ATCC® 25922TM was 2 μg/ml, and the MIC50 and MIC90 for the 72 quinolone-resistant E. coli clinical isolates were 4 and 64 μg/ml, respectively. ZINC18057104, which has a quinoline structure which is similar to the quinolone antibiotics, is predicted to exhibit antimicrobial activity in quinolone-resistant E. coli because it has different molecular interactions with the DNA gyrase than that of existing quinolone antibiotics.
Dual Sensing with Voltage Shifting Scheme for High Sensitivity Touch Screen Detection

본 논문에서는 상호 정전용량 터치스크린의 single line sensing 방법에서의 단점을 해결하기 위한 성능향상 구조를 제안한다. 제안 구조는 Dual sensing 기법과 voltage shifting 기법을 도입하여 센싱 신호의 노이즈를 효과적으로 제거하고 터치 유무의 센싱 신호 차이를 증가시킨다. Dual sensing 기법은 구동신호의 양방향 엣지를 사용하여 integration 속도를 2배로 증가시켜 감지시간을 감소시킨다. Voltage shifting은 ADC의 입력신호 동작범위를 최대화하여 신호 대 노이즈비 (SNR)를 개선한다. 23" 대형 상용 터치스크린을 이용하여 simulation 및 측정한 결과로 제안된 센싱기법은 43dB의 SNR 성능을 가지며, 기존 방식 대비 2배의 스캔 속도를 제공하여 대형 터치스크린을 위한 적합한 기술임을 보인다. 제안된 센싱기법은 현재 매그나칩 CMOS 0.18um 공정으로 TSP 컨트롤러칩으로 구현되었다. This paper proposes a new touch screen sensing method that improves the drawback of conventional single-line sensing methods for mutual capacitance touch screen panels (TSPs). It introduces a dual sensing and voltage shifting method, which reduces the ambient noise effectively and enhances the touch signal strength. The dual sensing scheme reduces the detection time by doubling the integration speed using both edges of excitation pulse signals. The voltage shifting method enhances the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) by increasing the voltage range of integrations, and maximizing the ADC's input dynamic range. Simulation and experimental results using a commercial 23" large touch screen show an SNR performance of 43dB and a scan rate 2 times faster than conventional schemes - key properties suited for a large touch screen panels. We implemented the proposed method into a TSP controller chip using Magnachip's CMOS 0.18um process.

최근 환경문제로 인해 이상기후가 전 서계에서 나타나고 있으며, 이는 현재의 인류에게도 위협이 되고 있다. 이 현상의 주범 중에 하나인 유성 액체 도료를 대체하기 위해 중금속 및 유기 휘발성물질(VOC) 원료를 사용하지 않는 친환경 분체 도료가 대안으로 제시되고 있다. 악조노벨은 유럽에서는 이미 사용 규제된 물질이며, 국내에서도 최근 유독 물질로 지정된 폴리에스터 경화제 TGIC 사용을 오래전부터 지속적으로 감소하여 친환경뿐만 아니라 작업자 안전도 고려하는 제품 개발을 통해 시장의 요구를 충족시키며, 분체도료 기술을 선도하고 있다. 따라서, 본 발표에서는 친환경 고내후성 TGIC free 분체 도료 특징 및 자동차 외장재, Alloy wheel 등에 적용된 사례들을 통해 친환경 코팅시스템(Coating system) 및 전세계 자동차용 분체도장 경향에 대해서 소개하고자 한다.
전자파 측정을 이용한 폐쇄 배전반의 사고예방진단 기법에 관한 연구

본 논문에서는 전자파 측정기법을 이용하여 부분방전 발생 전·후에 검출된 신호를 분석하여 폐쇄 배전반의 이상 징후를 상시 감시할 수 있는 사고 예방진단기법을 제시하였다. 폐쇄 배전반의 정상 및 이상상태 판단을 위해 배전반 내부 및 외부에 헬리컬 안테나를 설치하여 이들 안테나에서 검출된 부분방전 발생 전·후의 신호를 주파수 스펙트럼 분석을 통해 크기를 비교 분석하였다. 본 논문에서는 부분방전 발생 전·후에 폐쇄 배전반 내부 및 외부에 설치된 안테나에서 검출된 신호들을 이용하여 정상상태 및 이상상태를 판별하는 방법을 적용하여 좋은 결과를 얻었으며, 향후 폐쇄 배전반의 절연 상태 감시 및 사고예방에 효율적으로 적용할 수 있으리라 기대된다. This paper presents the diagnostic method for fault prevention in metal clad switchgear(MCS) through comparison of signals before and after detecting the partial discharge using electromagnetic detection technique. Electromagnetic waves detected by antennas of the inside and outside of MCS are analyzed and compared by frequency spectrum analysis method which can estimate an insulation abnormality and normality of MCS. As a result of the experiment by the proposed method, we can detect the insulation abnormality as partial discharge in MCS and these results can be applied to preventive diagnosis of MCS.
