Heterotopic pregnancy in a natural cycle is rare case. This case occurs by one out of 30,000 cases of pregnancies. It is quite difficult to diagnose a heterotopic pregnancy clinically. But, recently, the availability of high-resolution sonography has improved the preoperative diagnosis rate. We present a case of spontaneous heterotopic pregnancy which was diagnosedp re-operatively by transvaginal ultrasound.

肉桂로부터 抽出된 Cinnamaldehyde가 F9 畸形癌腫細胞柱에 미치는 抗癌效果

癌에 의한 사망자의 比率이 계속 增加되고 있고 旣存의 治療法인 手術療法, 放射線療法, 化學療法등은 副作用등 여러 가지 문제점들이 있어 새로운 治療方法이나 副作用을 줄일 수 잇는 方法의 硏究등 다양한 硏究가 관심의 초점이 되고 있으며, 近來에는 細胞毒性은 약하지만 旣存 抗癌劑와 倂用投與하여 抗癌性을 增加시키고 副作用을 줄일 수 있는 免疫療法이나 apoptosis, 細胞分化誘導法, 血管形成沮害法 등과 관련된 새로운 方法의 硏究가 진행중이다. 특히 正常的인 細胞에 비하여 分化가 덜 이루어진 것으로 알려진 細胞들의 成長沮害 및 分化를 誘導시키는 化合物의 탐색은 細胞의 週期를 正常으로 回復시키므로서 apoptosis를 誘發시킬 수 있기 때문에 새로운 抗癌劑로서 많은 관심을 끌고 있으며 ursolic acid와 oleanoic acid와 같은 triterpene acids와 人蔘으로부터 抽出한 Ginseosides가 F9 畸形癌腫細胞柱의 새로운 分化因子로 作用한다는 사실이 밝혀짐에 따라 새로운 分化誘導因子에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 이에 F9 畸形癌腫細胞柱의 model system을 통하여 韓藥材中에서 人蔘의 Ginsenosides와 유사한 새로운 分化誘導因子 또는 抗癌活性을 나타내는 化合物을 찾아 보기위하여, 補氣之劑인 肉桂를 이용하여 F9 畸形癌腫細胞柱에 대한 抗癌效果를 測定하고 아울러 그 構造와 機能을 밝히는 것을 目的으로 實驗하였 던 바 肉桂 抽出液은 F9 畸形癌腫細胞柱에 대하여 강한 增殖沮害活性을 나타냈으며, retinoic acid나 ginsenoside와 같은 分化誘導因子와는 다른 特性을 나타냈다. 또한 肉桂抽出液에 존재하는 增殖沮害因子는 cinnamaldehyde이며 精製된 cinnamaldehyde가 F9 畸形癌腫細胞柱의 apoptosis를 誘導시키는데 관여하는 것으로 推定된다. In this study, I used F9 teratocarcinoma stem cells as a model system, in order to search new type of differentiate or anticancer agents from herbal medicine extracts, Cinnamomi cortex is used to supply the Yang(陽) for body, and I have studied about the anticancer effect of cinnamaldehyde purified from Cinnamomi cortex extract on F9 teratocarcinoma stem cells. The results were as follows: 1. The Cinnamomi cortex extract among the 16 herbal extracts was revealed the strongest anti-proliferation effect. 2. The anti-proliferation factor in the Cinnamomi cortex extract was different from differentiation inducers such as retinoic acid and ginsenosides. 3. The ainti-proliferation factor in the Cinnamomi cortex extract was identified with the cinnamaldehyde. 4. The purified cinnamaldehyde showed IC50 (50% inhibitory concentration) value 100uM in the F9 teratocarcinoma stem cells. 5. The purified cinnamaldehyde may be involved in induction of programmed cell death, or apoptosis in F9 teratocarcinoma cells.

At once Medicine of East and West have the same purpose in treating, but there is a difference between the method of medical care and the view/slant on a disease each other. And so it is very important to understand Oriental medicine and Western counterpart, in addition it is meaningful to understand the terminology of Oriental medicine from the slant of Western Medicine. The conception of the Activation of Blood and the Elimination of Blood Stasis (活血化瘀) from Western medical standpoint is rather hard to explain. But It can be explained to clear such abnormal matter in blood as blood depletion of the blood to quicken the blood, but it is widely known to us this conception is too complicated to explain. Accordingly I would like to begin with a survey of Blood-quickening stasis dispelling, a prescription of the herbal formulas in Oriental midical view, and help aim at enlarging the range of our knowledge via theoretical explanation how to make understand it in the viewpoint of Western medicine.
