This paper introduces general concepts of Jointless Bridges and field construction case of Semi-Integral Bridge with PSC girder integrating end-diaphragm. The expansion joints need to satisfy thermal and safety conditions of bridges. General bridges with joints have some problems, which are frequently replacement cycle time from mechanical damage or unstable movement, maintenance cost and more. To solve these problems, Integral Abutment Bridges(IAB) have been applied overseas in the 1930s. In Korea, first IAB was constructed in the early 2000s and precast IAB systems was invented and applied lately. Kyungshin overpass bridge in Incheon is the Semi-IAB constructed, the span length is 2@35=70m and the width is 13.9m. The original plan was to use general joint bridge but design field changed with expectations for advanced economic estimation and maintenance. This changed method of B.I.B bridge construction provided not only workability, construction cost but also safety improvement at the same time.
Comparison of Simulation Models for the Coaxially-gated Carbon-nanotube Field-effect Transistor

Carbon-nanotube field-effect transistors (CNFETs) have received great attention as possible successors to metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs) beyond the sub-10 nm era. In this work, numerical simulations were performed on single-walled semiconducting CNFETs using a FETToy simulator and a compact model with or without a smoothing parameter. The discontinuity in the derivative of the surface potential with respect to <i>V<sub>GS</sub></i> in the compact model can be remedied by employing a simple smoothing parameter. The simulated output characteristics of CNFETs with a 1.5-nm-thickgate insulator and a 3-nm-diameter nanotube channel exhibited the advantage of using a smoothing parameter. Our results show fairly good matches between the FETToy model and the compact model with a smoothing parameter of less than 5 × 10<sup>−4</sup>.

This paper presents an analytical method to compute the surface potential of ballistic metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET)-like carbon-nanotube field-effect transistors (CNFETs). The proposed compact model considers the surface potential as functions of the carbon-nanotube diameter, gate insulator thickness, gate voltage and drain voltage. One of the advantages of this model is that there is no need to refer to the numerical model to recalculate the surface potential each time nanotube diameter or insulator thickness is changed. Instead of using a constant smoothing parameter regardless of the device size and applied bias voltages, a parameter calculated for the specific situations is employed to provide the simulation results with higher accuracy. The validity of the proposed model was verified by comparing the simulated output characteristics of three CNFETs with those of the numerical model and the previous compact model.
