Fine needle aspiration cytology of the salivary lesions was performed on 221 patients at Soonchunhyang University Hospital for 10 years. Of 221 aspirates, 6 aspirates(2.7%) were inadequate, 116 cases(52.5%) were non-neoplastic lesions, 76(34.4%) cases were benign neoplasms and 23 cases(10.4%) were malignant neoplasms. The cytologic diagnoses could be correlated with histologic findings in 58 cases. FNAC correctly discriminated between neoplastic and nonneoplastic lesions in fifty-seven lesions and failed in a case, and overall accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity were 98.3%, 98.0%, and 100.0%. FNAC correctly discriminated malignant neoplasms from benign neoplastic/nonneoplastic lesions in fifty-three cases and fatted in five cases, and overall accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity were 91.3%, 72.7%, and 95.7%. Among three false negative cases, two mucoepidermoid carcinomas were misdiagnosed as mucocele and benign neoplasm, and an acinic cell carcinoma were misdiagnosed as Warthin's tumor. Two false positive cases were a Warthin's tumor misdiagnosed as squamous cell carcinoma and a pleomorphic adenoma misinterpretated as suggestive of malignancy. In conclusion diagnostic accuracy of FNAC of salivary lesions is high, and the possibilities of low grade mucoepidermoid carcinoma and acinic cell carcinoma should be considered on hypocellular smears with mucoid or fluidy background.

While the pinch instability theory (PIT) has been widely employed to analyze the spray transfer mode in the gas metal arc welding (GMAW), it cannot predict the detaching drop size accurately. The PIT is modified in this work to increase the accuracy of prediction and to simulate the molten tip geometry to be more physically acceptable. Since the molten tip becomes a cone shape in the spray mode, the effective wire diameter is formulated that the effective diameter is inversely proportional to current square. Modifications are also made to consider the finite length of the liquid column and current leakage through the arc. While the effective diameter influences drop transfer significantly, the current leakage has negligible effects. The effects of modifications on drop transfer are analyzed, and the predicted drop diameters show good agreements with the experimental data of the steel wire.

Salivary duct carcinoma is rare high grade adenocarcinoma, arising from larger excretory duct in major salivary gland, resembling the ductal carcinoma of the breast histologically. We report a case of salivary duct carcinoma of left parotid gland in which fine needle aspiration cytology was performed. Cytologic examination revealed 1) moderate cellularity, 2) flat sheets or three dimensional, tightly cohesive clusters on the necrotic background, 3) sometimes cribriform or papillary configuration, 4) polygonal or cuboidal cells with moderate anisonucleosis with abundant, granular and eosinophilic cytoplasm, 5) round to oval nuclei with irregular chromatin clumps, and 6) 1 or 2 inconspicuous nucleoli. Histologically, the tumor is mainly composed of cribriform intraductal component with central comedonecrosis, and small foci of infiltrating component including well differentiated ductal structures or irregular sheets in a desmoplastic stroma.

본 논문은 스마트폰의 플랫폼에 내장되어 있는 자동음성인식 기술을 활용하여 영어 학습자의 발음에 대한 즉각적인 문자 피드백을 제공하는 모바일 기반 발음 교수법이 영어 학습자의 자음 발음 (V-B, R-L, G-Z) 인식과 출력에 미치는 영향에 대해 연구했다. 특히, 자동음성인식 기술을 이용한 모바일 기반 발음 교수법을 사용한 그룹, 전통적인 교사 중심의 발음 교수법 그룹, 그리고 이 둘을 합친 하이브리드 교수법 그룹으로 나누어 영어 학습자의 발음 평가 결과를 (인지, 출력) 비교, 분석했다. ANCOVA를 이용한 분석 결과, 영어 학습자의 발음 출력에 있어 하이브리드 교수법 그룹이 (M=82.71, SD =3.3) 전통적인 교수법 그룹 (M=62.6, SD=4.05) 보다 유의미하게 높은 결과를 나타냈다 (p<.05). This study explored the effect of ASR-based pronunciation instruction, using a mobile platform, on EFL learners' pronunciation development. Particularly, this quasi-experimental study focused on whether using mobile ASR, which provides voice-to-text feedback, can enhance the perception and production of target English consonants minimal pairs (V-B, R-L, and G-Z) of Korean EFL learners. Three intact classes of 117 Korean university students were assigned to three groups: a) ASR Group: ASR-based pronunciation instruction providing textual feedback by the mobile ASR; b) Conventional Group: conventional face-to-face pronunciation instruction providing individual oral feedback by the instructor; and the c) Hybrid Group: ASR-based pronunciation instruction plus conventional pronunciation instruction. The ANCOVA results showed that the adjusted mean score for pronunciation production post-test on the Hybrid instruction group (M=82.71, SD =3.3) was significantly higher than the Conventional group (M=62.6, SD =4.05) (p<.05).

본 연구에서 율피추출물을 이용하여 DPPH 이용한 전자공여능 실험을 통하여 항산화 효과를 확인 하였고 시험관 내 실험 tyrosinase활성억제효과를검증하였으며 세포내 collagen 생성시험(Collagen synthesis assay)을 통하여 효과를 검증하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. DPPH 이용한 전자공여능 실험을 통하여 율피에탄올 추출물이 86.9±0.1로 다른 용매 추출물 보다 전자공여능이 높음을 알 수 있었다. 2. 시험관내 실험 tyrosinase활성억제 실험을 통하여 용매별 율피 추출물들이 tyrosinase활성을 측정한 결과 물 추출물은 양성대조군 사용한 알부틴과 비교하였을 때 (inhibition rate50%) 에서 비슷한 저해효과를 보이는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 3. Procollagen typeⅠpeptide EIA kit를 이용하여 섬유아세포의 control군과 retinoic acid, 율피추출물들의 농도별 collagen 생합성량을 비교하였으며 율피 추출물이 섬유아세포의 collagen 생합성을 확인할 수 있었다. 이상의 실험 결과 율 피추출물이 항산화능과 tyrosinase활성저해효과를 동시에 나타내며 세포내 collagen 생합성 등 피부에 미치는 영향이 크다는 것으로 판단된다. Chestnut bark is the inner shell of a chestnut which is fruit of Castanea crenata S. et Z., perennial of beech. This research was carried out to examine the effects of extracts from chestnut bark. The chestnut bark extracts were extracted by water, ethanol and methanol as a solvents. Their effects on skin were analyzed. Antioxidant activity of chestnut bark extract was evaluated by measuring the reducing power of the extract using DPPH. Also, their effects on the collagen synthesis and the inhibition of tyrosinase activity were analyzed. The results obtained were as follows. 1. Their antioxidant activities on reducing power were higher. Among them, the antioxidant activity of methanol extract was the highest. 2. The tyrosinase activity was inhibited by the extracts as nearly as arbutin which was positive control group. Ethanol and methanol extracts inhibited the tyrosin activity significantly. 3. 99±08 ng of collagen was produced in control group while collagens were synthesized 168±1.4 ng, 161±1.1 ng and 225±0.3 ng in 70% ethanol extract group and retinoic acid group respectively. These results showed that chestnut bark extracts had the antioxidant activity, inhibitory effect on melanin synthesis and stimulation on collagen synthesis. Hence, the extract might be developed skin enhancement agent such as skin whitening.

We analyze the systemic risk based on the information flows using the variance decomposition, DebtRank methods, and the Industry Sector Indices during 2001. 01 to 2015. 08. Using the KOSPI stock market as our setting, we find that (i) the systemic risk calculated by information flows of variance decompositions method shows strong positive relations with the market volatility, (ii) the magnitude of systemic risk measured from the information flows network by DebtRank method increases after the subprime financial crisis.

A variety of precise stages are adopted for precise machinery. To secure vibration isolation, those precise stages are mounted on a heavy base structure supported by compliant springs. Then the base structure is often subjected to vibration due to the reaction force induced by the stage motion. This paper investigates the dynamic behavior of base structures as well as a vibration reduction technique. A 6 DOF dynamic model is established to investigate the vibration of positioning stage and base structure. A new input shaper is devised to eliminate both the residual vibrations in base structure. Simulations show that the proposed input shaper effectively remove the residual vibrations in base structure.
