사용자의 감성 상태에 적절한 반응을 보이는 로봇 또는 인터랙티브 캐릭터에 대한 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 사용자의 문장 입력에 대하여 사용자의 의도와 감성 상태에 적절한 응답을 제공하는 지능형 메신저를 개발한다. 사용자의 의도 및 감성 상태 인식을 위하여, 지능형 메신저는 화행 분석 및 감성 분석 기능을 포함한다. 또한, 감성 및 화행 표현을 위한 태그가 추가된 AIML 기반의 대화형 스크립트를 사용한다. 대화형 스크립트에서 사용자의 감성에 적합한 답변을 찾으면, 지능형 메신저는 그 답변을 대화창에 보여줌과 동시에 애니메이션 캐릭터가 사용자의 감성과 동조화된 감정 표현 동작을 수행하도록 한다. 만일 감정을 표현하는 애니메이션 캐릭터가 무선 네트워크를 통하여 콘텐츠 로봇과 동기화된다면, 사용자와 동일 공간에 존재하는 콘텐츠 로봇은 사용자에 대하여 감성적 반응을 보일 수 있다. Nowadays, many research have been conducted on robots or interactive characters that properly respond to the users affection. In this paper, we develop an intelligent messenger that provides appropriate responses to text inputs according to user’s intention and affection. In order to properly respond, the intelligent messenger adapts methods to recognize user’s speech act and affection. And it uses an AIML-based interactive script to which tags are additionally attached to express affection and speech act. If the intelligent messenger finds a proper reply in the interactive scripts, it displays the reply in a dialog window, and an animation character expresses emotion assimilated with a user’s affection. If the animation character is synchronized with a content robot through a wireless link, the robot in the same space with the user can provide emotional response.

I present the behavior of colloidal adsorption to an oil-water interface in the presence of electrolyte in an aqueous subphase. The optical laser tweezers and the piezo controller are used to trap an individual polystyrene microsphere in water and forcibly transfer it to the interface in the vertical direction. Addition of an electrolyte (i.e., NaCl) in the aqueous subphase enables the particle to attach to the interface, whereas the particle escapes from the trap without the adsorption in the absence of the electrolyte. Based on the analytical calculations of the optical trapping force and the electrostatic disjoining pressure between the particle and the oil-water interface, it is found that a critical energy barrier between them should exist. This study will provide a fundamental understanding for applications of colloidal particles as solid surfactants that can stabilize the immiscible fluid-fluid interfaces, such as emulsions (i.e., Pickering emulsions) and foams.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of temporal space between practice sessions on learning of visuomotor rotation task. The theoretical background underlying current study was based on the notion of memory consolidation, a phenomenon of motor memory that continues long after the completion of practice repetition during inactivity period. Total four groups of healthy participants (n=36) practiced the visuomotor rotation task either with 10 minute or 24 hour inactivity period between practice sessions, and with/without perturbation task after regular task practice. A retention test was administered approximately 24 hours later following the completion of practice phase. The results indicated that all groups showed improvement in the accuracy of task performance measured by the distance error during practice phase. However, only the groups who did not have a perturbation task exhibited higher accuracy of performance during retention test. The outcome of movement time demonstrated that the group without experiencing a perturbation task and with longer temporal separation between practice sessions showed the shortest movement time during retention test. These findings suggest that practicing additional tasks after the regular training sessions could perturb memory consolidation processes for visuomotor adaptation learning. In addition, longer space between practice sessions may facilitate production of fast pointing movements during visuomotor rotation tasks, consistent with the notion of memory consolidation hypothesis.

In this review, I present the configuration behaviors of various Janus particles at fluid-fluid interfaces. As a model system, Janus spheres, Janus ellipsoids, and Janus dumbbells are selected to investigate the effect of shape, size, and wettability on their configurations. In particular cases, Janus ellipsoids can adopt two distinct configurations (i.e., upright and tilted configurations) due to the presence of two energy minima in the attachment energy profile. On the contrary, a single energy minimum is found in the case of Janus dumbbells such that they adopt either the upright or tilted configuration. Interestingly, the geometric and chemical asymmetry and anisotropy in the characteristic properties of Janus dumbbells lead to an intermediate state in which the particles can rotate freely in a certain range of orientation angles.

본 특집에서는 전하를 띤 콜로이드 입자의 기름-물 계면으로의 비균일한 흡착 거동에 대한 최신 연구 내용을 소개한다. 본 연구에서는 광학 레이저 트위저를 사용하여 기름 상에 형성된 물방울 안에 존재하는 콜로이드 입자를 기름-물 계면의 경사 방향으로 강제로 이동하여 기름-물 계면에 흡착시켰다. 그 결과, 입자의 계면으로 흡착되는 확률은 이온 농도가 감소함에 따라 대수적으로 감소하였고, 또한 광학적으로 트랩된 입자가 계면과 가장 가까운 위치에서 유지되는 시간에 의존하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 또한, 특정 이온 농도에서의 흡착 확률과 계면에서의 유지 시간에 대한 의존성의 불일치는 계면으로의 입자 흡착이 결정적(deterministic)이 아닌 확률적(stochastic)이라는 결과를 확인하였다. 콜로이드 입자 표면의 불균일성이 입자와 계면간의 정전기적 상호작용을 변화시키며, 결과적으로 확률적 계면 흡착과정에 기인함을 밝혔다. 또한, 입자 흡착에 대한 이온 농도 의존성이 콜로이드 입자로 안정화된 에멀전의 안정성 측면에서 벌크 거동과 일치함을 입증하였다.
한국재래산양(韓國在來山羊)의 성성숙일령(性成熟日齡) 및 계절번식성(季節繁殖性)

To investigate the age at puberty and the seasonal breeding in Korean native goats, progesterone concentrations were measured in blood. Blood samples were collected from 8 goats at 10 day intervals from 2 months of age until the first estrus after birth, and then every 5 days for a further estrous cycle and the seasonal breeding. The mean age and weight at puberty were $195{\pm}57$ days($mean{\pm}S.D.$, range : 107~260 days) and $11.1{\pm}0.9kg$(range : 9.8~12.0kg), respectively. The mean age at first pregnancy after birth was $241{\pm}109$ days(range : 107~273 days). The estrus was observed 47.6% from October to December, and was highest in fall(38.1%) and lowest in spring and summer(14.3%). However, the estrus was observed every season. About 67% of total conception occurred form October to January. The parturition occurred 41.7% in spring, 25.0% in summer and winter, and 8.3% in fall, respectively. These results suggest that Korean native goats do not have a breeding season, but the reproductive activity is influenced by the season.
