본 연구에서는 공감의 인지적 요인 및 정서적 요인, 비언어적 정서표현능력과 호감도의 관계를 확인하고자 하였다. 두 명의 낯선 동성 참가자를 짝지어 최근에 경험한 긍정적, 부정적 사건에 대해 번갈아 이야기 하도록 하였으며, 두 대의 카메라를 이용하여 각 참가자의 정면 모습을 녹화하였다. 대화가 종료된 후 참가자는 독립된 공간에서 상대방에 대한 호감도를 평정하였다. 평가 후 참가자는 자신의 녹화 영상을 시청하며 대화 중 자신이 느꼈던 감정을 연속적으로 기록하였고, 동일한 방법으로 상대방의 녹화영상을 시청하며 상대방의 감정을 추론하여 기록하였다. 본인과 상대방의 감정을 기록한 결과들의 일치도를 급내상관계수로 비교하여 인지적․정서적 공감정확도를 수량화하였다. 마지막으로 실험에 참여하지 않은 두 명의 독립적인 동성평정자로 하여금 참가자의 음성을 제거한 녹화 영상을 보여주고 참가자의 감정을 평정하여 비언어적 정서표현을 확인하였다. 그 결과, 호감도와 정서적 공감 그리고 긍정적인 비언어적 정서표현 간의 정적 상관이 유의하였다. 매개효과 검증 결과, 인지적 공감정확도와 호감도의 관계는 정서적 공감정확도에 의한 간접효과만 유의한 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 시사점과 제한점에 대해 논의하였다. The study was conducted to determine how cognitive empathy, emotional empathy, and nonverbal emotional expressivity are related to interpersonal attraction. The same-sex pair of subjects, who did not have any acquaintance, were matched in advance, and they were asked to talk about their recent positive and negative events while their front being videotaped. During the conversation, which lasted eight minutes, the partners took turns in talking about their events, with two minutes for each event. After the talk, subjects completed the interpersonal attraction in the separate room, and watched their own videotape to record their emotion felt during the conversation with a software for continuous affect rating. Also, they were requested to view their partner’s videotape and infer what he or she felt. Empathic accuracy and the degree of emotional assimilation were calculated based on intraclass correlation coefficients between subject’s self-affect rating and subject’s inference about the partner. Nonverbal emotional expressivity was measured by two same-sex raters who did not participate in the study, and watched videotapes of every subject without sound. The results indicated that interpersonal attraction was positively correlated with emotional empathy and positive nonverbal emotional expression. Also, positive indirect-only mediation through emotional empathy was observed between cognitive empathy and interpersonal attraction. The implications and limitations of this study were also discussed.

We examined various ball-milling parameters which affect the structural and morphological modification of multi-wall carbon nanotubes. In particular, the effect of milling mode and the use of different milling agents were examined. Friction milling mode induced more structural changes than impact milling mode except the use of dry ice as a milling agent. Wet milling was helpful for reducing more effectively the agglomeration of nanotubes than dry milling. The use of hard solid particles such as silica and alumina as milling agents resulted in an effective shortening of nanotubes, but often susceptible to the amorphization and the destruction of crystallinity.
초등영어 교사의 교수 언어 유형 선택: 영어 전용과 코드스위칭

This study investigates the different teaching language types adopted by a primary English teacher. Ninety-seven elementary students participated in the study and were divided into two groups: one taught in English-only and the other in English-Korean codeswitching. A mixed-methods design was adopted. Each group was compared through the same English proficiency test and a questionnaire which measures students’ affective domain. Classroom interactions were also recorded and the data was transcribed using the methods of conversation analysis to examine interactions between the teacher and students. In addition, interviews were conducted with students with different levels of English proficiency. Findings revealed that the codeswitching group scored significantly higher than the English-only group in the English proficiency test and the affective domain questionnaire. Also, the teacher’s codeswitching was meaningfully useful for enhancing teacher-student interactions and supporting the development of leaners bilingual competence. If codeswitching is used judiciously, it will help facilitate students’ language learning and empower non-native English speaking teachers rather than make him or her a victim of native-speakerism.
다문화 아동문학을 활용한 초등영어 협력학습 모형 개발 및 적용 연구

The purpose of this study is to develop a collaborative English learning model using multicultural children's literature and apply it to teaching elementary school children. Four multicultural children's literature were selected and appropriately adapted to the students' English level. Then an instruction model was developed and implemented in a fifth grade class during 22 class periods. Various types of data were collected through pre- and post- reading and writing tests and questionnaires about multicultural acceptance. Class observations through teaching journals and interviews with the students were also conducted for more detailed information. The results are as follows. The collaborative learning model using multicultural children's literature positively influenced learners' English reading comprehension and writing competence. It was also found that the collaborative learning model helped the students to improve their multicultural acceptance in terms of four sub-factors: multicultural competence, multicultural awareness, multicultural openness, and multicultural empathy.
