This survey was conducted for 170 players(88pitchers, 14catchers, 35infielders and 33outfielders) of 8 Korean baseball teams & 144 High school players(63pitchers, 16catchers, 39infielders and 26outfielders) of city named Gwang-ju, Seoul and around Kyung-Ki province regarding elbow joint injury. Also, I came to the following conclusion after conducting radiation, MRI and manual test on elbow joint injury for 68 active players(36pitchers, 32position players) who are belong to tentatively named "K", one of Korean baseball teams. 1. Survey It was shown that elbow joint injury and its pain provide bad influence game and practice for all the pro & amateur players(hereinafter referred to as "players") who had its surgery experienced it but can't find even one case in catcher group. Concerning kinds of surgery (if there was) each group had, you can mostly find MCL reconstruction for pitcher and outfielder, loose bodies for infielder. And it shows that in many cases amateur pitcher had MCL reconstruction surgery and infield and outfielder loose bodies one from chronic fatigue caused by its overuse and the lack of rehabilitation. Asked which is the most important method of its prevention on elbow joint injury, many players in all positions said that conditioning is the name of the game and systematic regulation such as pitch count limit for amateur player is necessary for their protection. 2. Survey of injury history Survey for 68 active players with tentatively named "K", one of Korean baseball teams, shows that it found 22 (32.35%) as normal players, 46 players (67.65%) with injury history. 조기위암 및 림프절 전이에 대한 수술 중 외과적 병기판정의 정확도 및 유용성

목적: 조기위암 및 림프절 전이에 대한 수술 중 외과적 병기판정의 정확도에 대하여 분석하고, 외과적 병기에 근거한 수술 범위 판단의 유용성에 대하여 조사하고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법: 2006년에서 2007년까지 위암으로 위 절제술을 시행 받은 369명을 대상으로 조기위암 및 림프절 전이에 대한 수술 전 검사 및 외과적 병기판정의 민감도, 특이도 및 정확도를 비교 분석하였다. 결과: 조기위암에 대한 외과적 병기판정의 민감도, 특이도, 정확도는 각각 74.5%, 95.7%, 83.7%였으며 양성 예측도는 95.7%였다. 이는 수술 전 검사에 의한 조기위암의 진단에 비하여 높은 특이도와 양성 예측도를 보였다. 림프절 전이에 대한 외과적 병기판정의 민감도, 특이도 및 정확도는 73.2%, 78.1%. 76.4%였다. 127명의 림프절 전이 환자 중 수술 전 진단에서 59명(46.5%)이, 외과적 병기판정에 의해서는 34명(26.8%)만이 림프절 전이 없음으로 저 평가되었다. 조기위암의 진단에서 술 전 진단과 외과적 병기 사이에 불일치를 보인 70예 가운데, 63예(90%)는 외과적 병기판정이, 7예(10%)는 수술 전 진단이 정확하였다. 결론: 수술 중 외과의사에 의한 외과적 병기판정은 조기 위암 및 림프절 전이에 대하여 수술 전 검사에 비하여 높은 정확도를 보이고 진행위암의 조기위암으로의 저 평가를 현저히 줄인다. 따라서 위암의 수술 시 외과적 병기는 수술 범위를 결정하는데 있어서 중요한 인자로 고려되어야 한다. Purpose: The aim of this study is to evaluate the accuracy of surgically diagnosing early gastric cancer (EGC) and lymph node metastasis, and to determine its role for performing limited surgery for EGC. Materials and Methods: We reviewed 369 patients who underwent gastrectomy for primary gastric carcinoma. The surgical diagnosis was evaluated by determining its sensitivity, specificity and accuracy, and this was compared with the preoperative examinations. Results: The sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of the intraoperative diagnosis for EGC were 74.5%, 95.7% and 83.7%, respectively. The predictive value for EGC according to the intraoperative diagnosis was 95.7%. The surgical diagnosis of EGC showed higher specificity and a higher predictive value than preoperative examinations, which significantly reduced the risk of underestimating advanced gastric cancer (AGC) to EGC. The sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy for lymph node metastasis according to the surgical diagnosis were 73.2%, 78.1% and 76.4%, respectively. For 70 patients with a discrepancy in the diagnosis of EGC between the pre- and intra-operative diagnosis, the surgical diagnosis was correct in 63 (90%) patients, but the preoperative examinations were correct in only 7 (10%) patients. Conclusion: The surgical diagnosis showed better accuracy than the preoperative examinations for detecting EGC and lymph node metastasis. Our results suggest that the decision for conducting limited surgery based on the surgical diagnosis might reduce the risk of under-treatment of AGC to EGC better than the preoperative examinations.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of yoga exercise on the activation of antioxidation enzyme and lipid peroxidation. The subjects for this study were eight women. Yoga exercise program consisted of 28 item, performed for 60 minutes in a bout, 5 times a week for 16 weeks. And the change of the activation of antioxidation enzyme(SOD, CAT, GPx), lipid peroxidation(MDA) have been measured before and post 10 weeks respectively. The results obtained from this study were as follows; 1. CAT(p<.01) and GPx(p<.05) were increased statistic significantly after 16 weeks of yoga exercise. But SOD was increased after 16 weeks of yoga exercise. 2. MDA was decrease after 16 weeks of yoga exercise.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of aerobic exercise and resistance exercise on the growth relation factor. The subjects for this study were forty two elementary male students and divided into 3 groups: aerobic exercise(running) group(N=14), resistance exercise(dumbbell) group(N=14), and control group(N=14). The aerobic exercise group performed running 40 min in a bout, four times a week at the intensity of 50~60%HRmax(1~5 weeks; 50~60%HRmax, 6~10 weeks; 61~70%HRmax). The resistance exercise group performed dumbbell exercise consisting of 12 factors using 1~2㎏ weight(1~5 weeks; 1㎏, 6~10 weeks; 2㎏). And the change of growth relation factors such as growth hormone(GH), insulin like growth factor-1(IGF-1) have been measured before, by post exercise 10 weeks respectively. Statistical techniques for data analysis were ANCOVA to determine the difference between exercise duration(10 weeks) and the difference between the aerobic exercise group and the resistance exercise group. The 5% level of significance was utilized as the critical level for acceptance of hypotheses for the study. The following results were obtained from this study. 1. The change of growth relation factors(GH, IGF-1) in the aerobic exercise group and the resistance exercise group were increased significantly after 10 weeks of exercise. That is, blood lipids such as GH(2.07ng/㎖, p<.01; 2.36ng/㎖, p<.01) and IGF-1(40.42ng/㎖, p<.01; 48.93ng/㎖, p<.01) were increased significantly after 10 weeks respectively, but there was no significant difference between the two groups. These results suggest that both aerobic exercise and resistance exercise for 10 weeks affect growth relation factors in elementary male students. Therefore, resistance exercise using dumbbell exercise as well as aerobic exercise was available for normal growth and development. Children, unlike most adults, naturally engage in spontaneous, vigorous physical activity. Since exercise in children is an essential biological process and likely plays an important role in normal growth and development.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of exercise capacity, blood iron markers and erythropoietin. The subjects for this study were ninety-six weight grade women players and divided into 2 groups: Helicobacter pylori infection group(n=18), Helicobacter pylori non infection group(n=16). The effect of exercise capacity such as VO2max, peak power, mean power and blood iron marker such as RBC, Hb, Hct, iron, ferritin, TIBC and erythropoietin have been measured. Statistical techniques for data analysis were independent t-test. The 5% level of significance was utilized as the critical level for acceptance of hypotheses for the study. The following results were obtained from this study; 1. The effect of body composition and exercise capacity in according to the Helicobacter pylori infection were no significant difference between two groups before weight loss. 2. The effect of RBC was no significant difference between two groups before weight loss. But, Hb, Hct, ferritin, iron and TIBC were significantly lower in Helicobacter pylori infection group than those of Helicobacter pylori non infection group before weight loss. Also, erythropoietin was significantly higher in Helicobacter pylori infection group than those of Helicobacter pylori non infection group before weight loss.
