Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in joint position sense (JPS), force sense (FS), and performance level of the upper extremities according to the injury and pain experiences of Korean elite archers. Methods: A total of 15 subjects were briefed about the purpose of this study and agreed to participate voluntarily. JPS was evaluated using the laser-point attached to the wrist while aiming at the target. The difference when relocating while aiming was used as JPS factor. FS was evaluated using load cell through reproduces same muscle strength. Fear-Avoidance Beliefs Questionnaire (FABQ) was used to evaluate psychosocial factors, Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic overhead athlete scores (KJOC) and numerical rating scale (NRS) was used to evaluate pain. and performance was evaluated by tournament match score. Results: There is a strong correlation between the current pain and KJOC. Moreover, moderate correlation between KJOC and FABQ also current pain and both upper trapezius and lower trapezius in elite archers. The mean (SD) between groups based on current pain display relatively large margin in force sense than without pain group. The result presents that there is a significant difference in performance and pain. There is a significant difference in the force sense of the upper and lower trapezius and pain. Conclusions: Result present there is a significant difference in functional level in the average comparison between groups according to the presence of absence of current pain. There is a significant difference in the force sense of the upper trapezius as well as lower trapezius and without pain group present a relatively low joint position sense error compared to the groups.

Background: Jujube (Ziziphus jujuba Mill.) friuts are rich in nutrients and an economically and ecologically important medicinal plant in Korea. However, as it is difficult to distinguish jujube cultivars using morphological characters, the development of molecular markers is necessary to protect and distinguish Korean jujube cultivars. Methods and Results: Next-generation sequencing analysis was performed on six major Korean cultivars; Bokjo, Boeun, Chuseok, Mudeung, Geumseong, and Wolchul. Sites with an insertion or deletion (InDel) were identified by comparison from the sequence information of the six Korean cultivars using the CLC Genomics Workbench. Among the identified InDels, we developed Zj-InDel-1 and Zj-InDel-2 markers, which could distinguish Bokjo, Chuseok, and Boeun from the other Korean cultivars. Conclusions: The InDel markers developed in this study could be used for classification of domestic jujube cultivars and protection of the elite ones.

To investigate how the immune system responds to tumor self antigens, we used enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) in B16 melanoma cells (B16-EGFP) and tested in the mouse lines expressing EGFP in thymic epithelial cells (3.1T-EGFP) or in antigen presenting cells (Get40), in comparison to the wild-type mouse. B16-EGFP cells were distinctively immunoedited in three mouse lines at the early phase, and the cells were completely eliminated only in the wild-type at the late phase, suggesting EGFP-specific tolerance is present in 3.1T-EGFP and Get40. The numbers of tumor-infiltrating T cells in all mouse lines were reversely correlated with the tumor sizes, suggesting dominant T cell mediated tumor elimination. When a soluble EGFP was immunized, surprisingly, the growth of B16-EGFP in Get40 mouse was promoted, while reduced in B6. Immunization did not make significant difference in the growth of tumors in 3.1T-EGFP. Detailed analyses showed the opposite directional changes in the numbers of B and CD8+T cells in B6 and Get40. In Get40 mice, the immunization significantly reduced the percentage of Gr1−CD11b+ cells, indicating that tolerance induction and breaking involve both adaptive and innate cells differentially. Therefore, the strategy for a cancer vaccine should be carefully considered on the types of antigen expressing cell.
