인문학의 새로운 이상, 자유와 평등을 넘어 사랑으로: 인문학 주체로서 여성의 역할

최근까지 인문학 담론은 자유와 평등이라는 이상을 준거로 비판담론을 펼쳐왔다. 그러나 자유와 평등은 인간이 서로 분리되고, 독립적이며, 자율적 존재라는 전제하에 가능하며, 인간이 실상 서로 깊이 관계되고 상호보완적 존재하는 현실에서 볼 때 더 이상 적절한 이상이 될 수 없다고 본 논문은 주장한다. 따라서 본 논문은 새로운 이상으로서 사랑을 제안하면서, 사랑담론은 자유와 평등 담론의 한계와 단점을 보완하고, 개인과 세계와의 합일을 목표로 하면서 참된 인간실현의 가능성을 제시한다고 주장한다. 기존의 담론을 사랑담론으로 전환하는 과정에서 인문학의 주체로서 점점 증가추세에 있는 여성들은 그들 특유의 여성성--인류의 초기부터 여성의 모성과 사회적 억압에서 비롯되는 부드러움, 유연함, 민감성, 공감능력, 객관성, 관계하고 중개하는 능력--으로 인하여 담론의 전환기에 풍성한 역할을 기대할 수 있다고 제안한다. 단, 여성성은 생물학적 여성만의 전유물이 아니라, 생물학적 남성과 여성에게 공히 나타날 수 있는, 기술적 특질임을 강조하고, 또한 남성보다는 여성에게 여성성이 더욱 두드러진 특질이기 때문에 여성의 역할을 기대할 수 있다고 주장한다. Beyond Freedom and Equality toward Love as a New Ideal with Women`s Increasing Role in Humanities Kim, Myung-Joo This paper argues that the studies in the humanities have been preoccupied with freedom and equality as ideals for their criticism until recently, but they are not proper ideals not only because they are inaccessible but also because their premises about human existence-separate, independent, and autonomous individuals-do not fit into the reality that human beings are profoundly connected and interdependent. So this paper suggests that love could be a new ideal which humanities discourses are concerned with because love complements the defects of discourses on freedom and equality and opens up a possibility for a new world in which human beings are fully realized mainly by being one with the others and the world. In such transition from the old to the new ideal, it is also argued that the increasing number of women in the humanities could contribute to its acceleration and completion with their unique femininity-gentleness, flexibility, sensitiveness, compassion, objectivity, ability to mediate and relate--which has been developed through women`s long care for babies and oppression. However, femininity should not be confused with biological women in that femininity, residing both in men and women, is only a descriptive category not a prescriptive one.

시대적 흐름에 따른 두피와 모발관리에 대한 연구방법

It is considered to be important to create aesthetically beautiful style through the change of external shape, however for the hair stylists, whose beauty expression is through hair, the role of hair doctor is becoming even more important with focus to improve the hair healthiness. Hair clinic is management of hair and scalp. It is the management process of preventing damages, while improving and cultivating healthy and shiny hair. The current concept in hair management is moving from simple hair styling to emphasis at hair management. As far as hair management is concerned, it usually includes treatment tools such as shampoo, conditioner, hair treatment and scalp scaling system, which is used for diagnosis of hair condition in order to treat the scalp. As the interest of hair healthiness becoming more wide spread, so does the breadth of clinic menu. The wide choice is to fulfill the profound desire of people, whose demands are simply to have variety in their choice. This is resulting in faucets of new value-added and differentiated products. The values that make-up the hair styles consist of mainly design (trend, preference), function(styling, management convenience) and clinic(hair quality improvement, damage repair). Shampoo and conditioner have gone beyond their original function of cleansing to providing combinational functions of treatment, to care and remedy, and advanced massage effectiveness. These are, to name a few that seem to go beyond their original function to satisfy the mental healthiness in people, the King Kong shampoo of shampooings in forward-backward manner, 5-minute shampoo massage that applies sports and relaxation massage, scalp acupunctural message and aural(ear) massage. More and more people are complaining about the damaged hair and hair loss problems due to perms, dyeing and bleaching of hair, in addition to natural scalp and hair damaging factors. Such complaints have stimulated many beauty products and various hair treatment systems being introduced with focus to provide nutrition and prevent damages to scalp and hair. As the living standards improve and the desire of people is to pursue differentiated lives, their demand also increases in hair styling products to fulfill the needs of healthy and aesthetical aspects of their lives.

쑥 ( Artemisia princeps var. orientalis ) 이 있는 토양에서의 질화작용

The nitrification processes (ammonium oxidation and nitrite oxidation) were investigated to evaluate the role of Artemisia princeps var. orientalis on inhibition of the nitrification in soils with A. princeps plants (testing site) and without that plant (control site). And terpenoids added experiment on the soil were performed to demonstrate that nitrification might be inhibited by terpenoids among of chemical compounds of A. princeps var. orientalis. Both of ammonium oxidation and nitrite oxidation processes are linear pattern during the incubation. Both of those processes in A. princeps plants site was higher than non A. perinceps site. The seasonal variation of ammonium oxidation rate between testing site and control site was summer season (July, Aug., Sep.), and that of nitrite oxidation rate was represented in all season except October. There was no significant between terpenoids added site and plants added site. These results are indicated that the nitrification was inhibited by some compounds in A. princeps, and one of that compounds might be terpenoids.

방추세포 혈관종

Spindle cell hemangioendothelioma was first described in 1986 to characterize a particular angiomatous lesion which shows different clinical features, however, it has recently been designated as spindle cell hemangioma (SCH) due to its benign nature. Microscopically, this peculiar vascular tumor consists of cavernous blood vessels intermixed with solid areas predominantly composed of spindle cells, resembling Kaposi sarcoma. A 39-year-old woman presented with a bean-sized, tender, bluish nodule on the pulp of her right thumb. The 1 year old lesion had increased slowly in size over this time. Histologic examination of the lesion showed that it was composed of large irregularly-dilated, thin-walled cavernous blood spaces containing organizing thrombi, numerous red blood cells, and a spindle cell mass which was partially connected with the vessel wall and invaded the stroma. A diagnosis of SCH was made based on histologic and immunohistochemical findings. After the lesion was totally excised, there has been neither recurrence nor occurence of new lesions to date. This paper aims to generalize some distinctive features of black religious imagination specially in the twentieth century by looking at three representative black religious figures such as a Muslim Malcolm X, a liberation theologian James Cone, and a womanist Alice Walker. As any texts transform themselves actively interacting with their constantly changing contexts, religions as culture are also subject to change. As such, Christianity, which is transmitted from the white to the black, undergoes a creative transformation in the black people`s imagination. Unlike the white intention to make the black slaves more obedient to their white masters, Christianity plays a central role of empowering the black to protest against the white supremacy specially in the eighteenth and nineteenth century. When it comes to the twentieth century, black religious imagination emerges in much more varied forms, not just Christianity but also Islam and Womanism. I assume that the black experience, which centers on both physical and social suffering, determines the color and shape of black religious imagination although its essence is fluid rather than static. Based on the assumption, the common features in those black religious discourses are provisionally described as communitarian, resistant, and empirical. All of the three figures above feature not only those three characteristics but also each idiosyncratic quality. It needs to be noted that this is only a provisional typology to map the black religious imagination, which would be only helpful but not exhaustive nor absolute.

서양민들레가 Streptozotocin으로 유발한 당뇨 흰쥐의 뇌조직 중 유해 활성산소 생성 및 제거 효소계에 미치는 영향

뇌조직에서 고혈당으로 인한 산화적스트레스에 대한 민들레의 유해 활성산소 생성과 제거효소계에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 streptozotocin으로 당뇨를 유발한 Wistar계 흰쥐에게 민들레의 잎과 뿌리의 분말과 열수추출물을 각각 4주간 급여하였다. 실험결과 유해 활성산소 생성효소계인 시토크롬 P450 함량, aminopyrine N - demethylase, aniline hydroxylase 및 xanthine oxidase 활성은 당뇨를 유발한 대조군에 비하여 서양민들레 잎과 뿌리급여군 모두 감소되었다. Superoxide dismutase, catalase와 glutathione peroxidase 활성 역시 서양민들레의 분말과 열수추출물 급여시 대조군에 비하여 유의적인 감소를 나타내었으며 민들레의 부위에 따른 차이는 관찰되지 않았다. 반면 뇌조직 중의 glutathione Stransferase 활성과 GSH 함량은 대조군에 비하여 서양민들레 급여시 유의적으로 증가되었으며, 과산화지질 함량은 당뇨 대조군에 비하여 서양민들레 급여군 모두 유의적인 감소를 보였다. 이상의 결과에서 서양민들레의 잎과 뿌리의 급여는 당뇨로 인한 흰쥐의 뇌조직 중 유리기 생성과 지질과산화로 인한 합병증 예방에 효과적일 것으로 사료된다. Many studies have shown that hyperglycemia leads to an increase of lipid peroxidation in diabetic patients and animals, reflecting a rise reactive oxygen species production. It is increasingly recognized that brain is another site of diabetic organ damage. Accordingly, this study was to investigate the effect of dandelion on oxygen free radical generating and scavenging system of brain in streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats. Male Wistar rats were divided into diabetic (control) and diabetic-dandelion supplemented groups. Dandelion was supplemented for 4 weeks with dandelion leaf and root powder (DLP, DRP) or dandelion leaf and root water extract (DLW, DRW) based on 11.4 g of raw dandelion/kg diet. Diabetes was induced by single injection STZ (55 mg/kg B.W., i.p.) in a citrate buffer. Oxygen free radical generating enzymes, cytochrome P-450, aminopyrine N-demethylase, aniline hydroxylase and xanthine oxidase, were lowered in dandelion supplemented-groups compared to the control group. Superoxide dismutase, catalase and gluthathione peroxidase activities of brain were also lower in dandelion leaf and root supplemented-group than in the control group, whereas glutathione S-transferase activity and gluthathione content were increased in dandelion supplemented-groups compared to the control group. With regard to the lipid peroxidation products, the malondialdehyde content of brain was lower in dandelion supplemented groups. Therefore, it could be suggested that powder and water extract of dandelion leaf or root are beneficial in preventing diabetic complication from lipid peroxidation and free radical in brain of diabetic rat brain.

방종과 반동 사이에서 여성되기: 에리카 종의 『날기의 두려움』

Erica Jong`s Fear of Flying has garnered widespread compliment and criticism at the same time since its publication in 1973 due to its explicit depiction of female sexuality. In this paper, I maintain that while Jong as a feminist courageously challenges a commonly held sexual script with her female protagonist, Isadora Wing, who is sexually licentious indeed, her identity is nonetheless torn between a sexually liberated feminist and a lover whose passionate pursuit for committed love could be misconstrued as backlash against feminism. In the novel, Jong attempts to create a new way of ``becoming a woman`` in a Deleuzian sense: in this case, a woman who loves a man with passion and preserves her own identity, which has been difficult to attain in this patriarchal world where love costs identity for women. I claim that Jong`s adoption of comic elements including irony and self-caricature as narrative strategies makes a smart contribution to paving her own unique way against feminist and anti-feminist hostility, and her seemingly irrelevant exploration into Jewish identity rather effectively strengthens the novel`s theme of ``becoming a woman.``

동물-되기, 풍경-되기―마가렛 앳우드의 『서피싱』

Margaret Atwood`s nameless protagonist in her novel Surfacing is often presumed to go insane toward the end of the novel in spite of her obvious encounter with a profound revelation of reality after surfacing from water. She certainly acts like a bear and a frog, and in her transformed consciousness her beloved father and mother are perceived as a wolf and a bird respectively. She even becomes a tree, a place, and she also even makes love with landscape itself represented by moss, water, and stone. Unlike the general criticism of the novel which sees her becoming animals and landscape as madness, however, this paper aims at a new reading of the protagonist`s becoming, so-called less human, by interpreting it not as any romantic regression to nature nor as evolution in any sense, but as Deleuzian “involution” which is meant to be distinguished from evolution, rather encompassing all evolutionary progression from matters to animals to humanity without erasing each former stage in enclosure. It argues that when animality―mostly brutal savageness―within humanity is to be completely eliminated in the process of becoming civilized, its rather positive aspect such as animal-like intuition and sharp senses happens to disappear as well so that it needs to be restored and reinstated as an alternative to the modern logocentric slant.
