Nanofibers of phenylsilsesquiazanes (SSQZ), as a precursor of inorganic silicon nitride nanoweb, was prepared using the electrospinning process. The SSQZ was prepared by ammonolysis of phenyl trichlorosilane and condensation of the resulting aminosilanes. The molecular weight of resulting SSQZ increased with initial concentration of phenyl trichlorosilane, reaching plateau above 20wt% of the silane. When the SSQZ was electrospun alone, it did not form fiber even with 20wt% concentration of SSQZ. However, it was possible to prepare fibers by adding poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) as a viscosity enhancer. The diameter the of electro spun fibers was modified by the total polymer content and the content of PEO. The best result was obtained when the total concentration of the polymer was in the range of 15 to 20 wt% while the SSQZ/PEO ratio was 95/5.

국제우주정거장에서 수행된 한국우주식품 관능평가 결과분석

본 논문에서는 한국우주인이 국제우주정거장에서 수행한 한국우주식품 10품목에 관한 관능평가결과를 분석하였다. 개인의 기호도 차이 때문에 관능평가 점수가 낮은 품목도 있었지만 대부분 높은 점수를 받았다. 해외우주인도 한국우주식품에 관하여 높은 평가를 하고 있어 향후 한국우주식품의 국제화 가능성도 확인할 수 있었다. 향후 유인우주탐사를 대비하여 한국우주식품의 품목 다양화와 우주에서 편리하게 사용할 수 있는 기능성을 갖춘 한국우주식품용 포장지 개발이 필요하다. We analyzed the result of sensory evaluation for the 10 items of Korean Space Foods performed by Korean astronaut in ISS. Although there were low score items because of the individual preference difference, Most items received the high score. Also, we can confirm the possibility of the internationalization of the Korean Space Foods because international astronauts gave the high valuation. we should develop the various space foods and food package which are easy to use in space for the human exploration in the future.

This study aimed to propose a framework for a sustainable urban metabolism which could be used as a means to assess the safety of a city, as illustrated above. The sustainable metabolism framework for assessing the safety of a city is made up of five core rules that should be followed in the development process and a safety assessment process. Based on this safety assessment process, an analysis was done on the components that would allow a sustainable development of a city, establishing the metabolism, and a final version of the safety assessment framework was designed by analyzing the factors that affect the safety of a city.

1960년대 시작된 화성탐사는 초기에 미국과 러시아(구 소련)가 주도했으나 최근 들어 중국, 인도, 아랍에미리트(UAE) 등 신흥 우주강국들의 화성탐사 성공으로 인해 화성탐사 르네상스 시대가 도래하고 있다. 최근에는 우주개발이 국가주도에서 민간주도로 패러다임이 바뀌면서 많은 우주관련 기업들이 생겨나고 있다. 미국의 민간기업 Space-X(사)는 2050년까지 100만명을 화성으로 이주시킨다는 화성 식민지화 프로젝트를 발표하고 100명이 탑승할 수 있는 StarShip 우주선 개발을 진행 중에 있다. 본 연구에서는 1960년대부터 현재까지 해외국가에서 수행된 화성탐사의 역사에 대해 알아보고, 최근 미국, 중국, 인도, 아랍에미리트에 의해 수행된 화성탐사 현황에 대한 조사를 수행하였다. The exploration of Mars, which started in the 1960s, was initially led by the United States and Russia(the former Soviet Union), but recently, with the success of Mars exploration by emerging space powers such as China, India and the United Arab Emirates(UAE), a new Mars exploration renaissance era is coming. Space-X, a private American company, announced a Mars colonization project to move 1 million people to Mars by 2050, and is in the process of developing a StarShip spacecraft that can carry 100 people at a time. In this study, the history of Mars exploration carried out by other countries around the world from the 1960s to the present was searched, and the current status of Mars exploration conducted by the United States, China, India, and the UAE was investigated.

Background and Objectives: Various surgical procedures have been performed using surgical robot in recent years and most reports proved that application of robotic technology for surgery is technically feasible and safe. The aim of this study is to introduce our technique of robot-assisted endoscopic thyroid surgery and demonstrate its utility in the surgical management of thyroid cancer. Materials and Methods: From October 4<sup>th</sup> 2007 through March 14<sup>th</sup> 2008, 100 patients with papillary thyroid cancer underwent robot-assisted endoscopic surgeries using a gasless trans-axillary approach. This novel robotic surgical approach allowed adequate endoscopic access for thyroid surgeries. All the procedures were completed successfully using the da Vinci surgical system (Intuitive Surgical, Sunnyvale, California, USA). We used four robotic arms with this system; a 12 mm telescope and three 5 mm instruments. The 3-dimensional magnified visualization obtained by the dual-channel endoscope and tremor-free instruments controlled by robot system helped surgeon do sharp and precise endoscopic dissection. Results: We performed 84 less-than total and 16 total thyroidectomies with ipsilateral central compartment node dissection. Mean operation times was 136.5 min. (range 79∼267 min.) in which the actual time for thyroidectomy with lymphadenectomy (console time) was 60.0 min. (range 25∼157 min). The average number of lymph nodes resected was 5.3 (range 1 to 28). There was no serious complication. Most patients could go home within 3 days after surgery. Conclusion: Our technique of robotic-assisted endoscopic thyroid surgery using a gasless trans-axillary approach is feasible, safe and promising for the selected patients with thyroid cancer. We suggest application of robotic technology for endsocopic thyroid surgeries could overcome the limitations of conventional endoscopic surgeries in the surgical management of thyroid cancer.
