코로나19로 인한 나이지리아의 비공식 부문 경제활동 축소와 식량 안보

As the Covid-19 pandemic continues in Sub-saharan Africa, it worsens the economic slowdown, poverty, and food security of the whole continent. This pattern of Covid-19 impacts on the economy was also reported in Nigeria. In Nigeria, the economic growth contracted in 2020 compared to 2019 except the northern region. However, it is not clear how the Covid-19 influenced the economic activities and food security of the informal sector in Nigeria. This study, hereby, investigates the mid-term effects of Covid-19 on the economic activities and food security of informal sector workers. The Nigerian government locked down the country border as well as the inter-regional movement of people after the first Covid-19 case appeared in early 2020. For this reason, more than half of the respondents of the LSMS-ISA phone survey answer that their monthly income had decreased or even there was no income at all. Furthermore, the unemployment rate also soared rapidly. Even if Nigeria controls the Covid-19 cases well, around 20% of respondents still have less income compared to the previous month. The long-term impact of the Covid-19 might spread from food security to education, health, etc. For this reason, it is important to have a strategy to solve not only to supply Covid-19 related equipment but also to breakthrough food security and poverty issues of the informal sector workers.
네트워크 이동성 성능향상을 위한 모바일 라우터 및 MR-MNN프로토콜 설계

네트워크 이동성은 모바일 라우터를 도입해 네트워크 내의 다수의 노드들에게 이동성을 지원하는 방법이다. 본 논문에서는 네트워크 이동성의 이점에 대해 기술하고, 이를 토대로 네트워크 이동성의 성능 향상을 위한 요구 사항을 제시하고, 네트워크 이동성을 구성하는 주요 통신 구간, 즉, 대응 노드와 홈 에이전트간, 홈 에이전트와 모바일 라우터 간, 모바일 라우터와 모바일 노드간을 살펴보고 성능 향상을 꾀할 수 있는 구간을 분석하여, 해당 구간에 적합한 프로토콜을 제안한다. NEMO (Network Mobility) introduces the concept of mobile router in order to supply users with group mobility over wireless and mobile networks. This paper investigates the advantages and disadvantages of NEMO in terms of the overhead of group mobility management. This paper proposes the additional requirements to enhance NEMO performance. Moreover, we analyze the main communication paths, CN-HA, HA-MR, and MR-MNN, in the real NEMO testbed.

This paper presents the effects of fire-resistant materials on the temperature and vertical deflection of a composite beam exposed to fire through nonlinear thermo-mechanical analysis. The fire was modeled using the standard fire curve proposed in American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) E119. Fire-resistant materials were modeled by reducing the heat transfer coefficient from the air layer to the beam. The temperature and vertical deflection of the uncoated composite beam were measured using a laboratory fire test, and the results of the structural fire analysis were verified through comparison with experimental results. By introducing the fire-resistance effect, the reduction in the temperature and deflection of the beam for the ASTM E119 standard fire can be reasonably estimated. Based on a case study of the heat transfer coefficient, the fire-resistant effect on the thermo-mechanical response of a composite beam in the event of a fire is presented.
Impact of Sensing Models on Probabilistic Blanket Coverage in Wireless Sensor Network

WSN에서의 커버리지 문제는 센싱 커버리지에 대한 요구조건을 만족시키기 위해 필요한 최소한의 활동 센서(active sensor)의 개수로 공식화될 수 있다. 일반적으로 확률적 기하학을 이용하여 WSN의 커버리지 분석을 수행하기 때문에 센싱 모델이 커버리지 분석의 핵심 요소로 간주된다. 따라서, 커버리지 분석의 정확도는 어떠한 센싱 모델을 가정하였느냐에 따라 달라질 수 있으며 분석에 사용된 센싱 모델이 얼마나 실 센싱 환경에 가깝게 특성화 되었느냐에 따라 달라진다. 본 논문에서는 Boolean 모델, Exponential 모델, Hybrid 모델 등 다양한 형태의 결정적 혹은 확률적 센싱 모델들을 조사하고 각각의 센싱 모델에 따라 일정 영역을 센싱할 수 있는 최소한의 센서 개수를 도출할 수 있는 수리적 분석을 수행하였으며 이를 통해 성능을 비교 평가하였다. In Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), blanket (area) coverage analysis is generally carried to find the minimum number of active sensor nodes required to cover a monitoring interest area with the desired fractional coverage-threshold. Normally, the coverage analysis is performed using the stochastic geometry as a tool. The major component of such coverage analysis is the assumed sensing model. Hence, the accuracy of such analysis depends on the underlying assumption of the sensing model: how well the assumed sensing model characterizes the real sensing phenomenon. In this paper, we review the coverage analysis for different deterministic and probabilistic sensing models like Boolean and Shadow-fading model; and extend the analysis for Exponential and hybrid Boolean-Exponential model. From the analytical performance comparison, we demonstrate the redundancy (in terms of number of sensors) that could be resulted due to the coverage analysis based on the detection capability mal-characterizing sensing models.
