An Integrated Database and Web Service for Microbial Resources at KACC

The Korean Agricultural Culture Collection (KACC) has developed a web-based system to provide an integrated database with information updates about microbial resources. This integrated database consists of 5 major functions and contains general information, which includes identification numbers, culture media composition, image information, DNA sequences, patent information, and general forms for ordering and depositing microorganisms. In 2008, KACC started providing characterization information. KACC maintains 9,801 cultures of microorganisms, including 3,296 strains of bacteria, 4,734 fungi, 784 actinomycetes, 64 yeasts, and 923 others.

The technician test paper have to gives a clear desired, unification of a length, use the standard language and do not duplication, of the questions.

Bioinformatics is believed to be a powerful measure to change agricultural biotechnology. Basic and applied researches related to bioinformatics have been extensively and intensively performed in universities, research institutes and in industries. Many countries recognized the importance of bioinformatics for the development of biotechnology and established national programs. Korea government also recognized this and recently launched a funding program to structure national wide research networks among government research organizations, research institutes and universities. National Agricultural Biotechnology Information Center (NABIC), Biological Research Information Center (BIUC), Center for Computational Biology & Bioinformatics (CCBB) had been established as national system centers of leading the bioinformatics in 21th century. The center has been constructed of networks for national planning, cooperation and have extensive national research projects by industry-college-institute consortium. Through there programs, research capacity increase for agricultural biotechnology and crop variety development will be achieved.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to find out the effect and chacrtaeristics of training according to the technical differences of drop jump by examining the effect of 6 weeks of depth jump & drop jump training on the isokinetic strength and agility performance. Method: Nineteen collegiate Students participated in the present study and were randomly assigned to 6 weeks of depth jump (DEJ) or drop jump (DRJ) training twice a ewek. Data on the measured variables (isokinetic strength of knee flexion and extension, the height of avertical jump, and agility test) were collected before and after a 6-week training period. A 2×2 analysis varniace (two factors mixed-effects ANOVA) was used for the statical analyses. The significant level of hypothesis verification is set-up as α=.05. Results: The results of this study are as follows. 1) The 6 weeks of edpth jump training significantly improved isokinetic strength & average power (60°/sec, 180°/sec, and 300°/sec speed condition), vertical jump performance, and agility (p<.05). 2). The 6-week drop jump training significantly improved agility (p<.05), but the isokinetic strength, average power, and vertical jump performance did not indicate significant improvement. 3) There were no significant differences between depth jmup (DEJ) & drop jump(DRJ) training on th e measured variables (isokinetic strength of knee flexion & extension, the height of vertical jump, and agility test) after 6 weeks of training (p<.05). Conclusion: It is supported that depth jump (DEJ) and drop jump (DRJ) tirnaing is an optional and usefu l method that can be used to increase isokinetic strength, powe r,and agility in the final preparation phase o f athletes before the competition season.

The balloon flower (Platycodon grandiflorum) has been used as food material and traditional medicine in Asia. Using 1,603 valid patents from 6 countries, we analyzed the patent trend based on year, countries, applicants, and technology. The technologies are categorized into 6 groups which include material, additives, manufacture, cultivation, breeding and seed. The technology competitiveness of countries were analyzed with quantitative factors such as cites per patent, patent impact index, patent family size and technology strength. In comparison with other countries in the patent index, South Korea shows an increasing trend in patent numbers and total leverage ability, although the individual technology is lower than Japan and USA. Our study provides information on technical trend to support the performance of new projects on balloon flower.
