Observation of Papillary Thyroid Microcarcinoma Patient Treated with Acupuncture Alone

Objectives : Thyroid cancer is one of the most common and rapid increases of malignancy worldwide. It is the aim of the present a case of papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC) treated with acupuncture alone to derive further studies of the determination of treatment options for PTMC, such as surgery, acupuncture and observation alone, etc. Method : A 51-year-old woman with malignancy of thyroid nodule ($0.89{\times}0.59cm$) was referred to our hospital on January 2010. We applied to the acupuncture alone three times weekly by the patient's decision from January 2010 to November 2014. Blood tests were conducted three times during the treatment period and ultrasonography was performed every 6 months. Results : Both laboratory data and tumor size results showed no deteriorations as compared with those of initial examination. The patients has been survived in healthy state without any metastasis or disease progression on November, 2014. Conclusion : This case presents a possibility that acupuncture or observation alone can be provided as an option in the treatment means for patients with PTMC. Further study will need to study more longer follow-up and a large number of patients for PTMC using acupuncture or observation alone.

In general construction project planning ratio of manpower and quantity of outputs produced, such as the construction estimate standard, is used as the criterion for labor productivity. This method is highly effective in construction projects with repetitive work, however, there is a limit to apply in large-scale projects with high complexity. This is because the influence of non-work time caused by various work interruption factors that act complexly on the productivity of the project is greater than the average labor productivity derived from the performance data of the project. Therefore, this study proposes a productivity measurement method that can evaluate the characteristics of construction works and the cause of non-working time. To this end, first, detailed work processes and their non-work factors for each work type are defined, and the Adv-FMR technique is developed for quantitatively measuring them. Next, based on the concept of obtainable productivity, methods for comparative productivity analysis by work type, evaluating non-work factors, and deriving productivity improvement methods are proposed. Finally, a case study is conducted to validate that the analysis results based on Adv-FMR data can support the decision-making of construction managers on productivity management.

The Serious Disaster Punishment Act, which has been in effect since January 27, 2022, requires employers or management managers who neglect safety measures to be punished by imprisonment for more than one year in the event of a serious disaster. As this Act on the Punishment of Severe Disasters came into effect this year, it has received a lot of attention from society. According to experts, most of the opinions are that the bill was created focusing on increasing punishment for companies, contrary to the original purpose of the bill to reduce the safety accident rate. This study confirmed whether these contents were true through case studies, and if this continues, the conflict between companies and workers will intensify and the safety accident rate will not decrease. Therefore, this study does not unconditionally increase corporate punishment, but compares many situations through surveys and suggests a way for companies and workers to cooperate with the Critical Accident Punishment Act to reduce the safety accident rate.
골수정을 이용한 대퇴골 전자간 골절의 새로운 치료 경향

골수강 내 금속정(골수정)은 1988년부터 대퇴골 전자간 골절을 치료하는 데 사용되어 왔다. 골수정은 활강고나사와 같은 골수강외 고정 장치에 비하여 기계적 이점이 있으나 대퇴 전자간 골절 Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen/Orthopaedic Trauma Association (AO/OTA) 31-A1 및 31-A2 골절 치료에 활강고나사보다 유리한 고정 기구인지에 대해서는 논란이 계속되고 있다. 지난 30년 동안 여러 시행 착오가 극복되었고 새로운 유형의 대퇴 골수정이 개발되어 임상에서 사용되고 있다. 새로 개발된 골수정은 삽입 과정이 쉬워지고 지연나사를 사용한 대퇴 골두의 고정 능력이 향상되어 왔다. 그러나 고정 실패율은 여전히 정형외과 의사의 수술 술기에 달려 있다고 할 수 있다. 이 종설에서 우리는 골수정을 이용하여 대퇴 전자간 골절을 치료하는 동안 내측 지지대 복원의 중요성에 대해 초점을 맞추고 그 기본 원칙에 대하여 논의해 보고자 한다. A gamma nail has been used to treat intertrochanteric fractures since 1988. Although such cephalomedullary nails have mechanical advantages over extramedullary fixation devices, such as sliding hip screw, their beneficial effects on treating the Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen/Orthopaedic Trauma Association (AO/OTA) 31-A1 and 31-A2 fractures are still controversial. During their 30-year history, many problems have been overcome, and new types of cephalomedullary nails have been introduced in clinical practice. New cephalomedullary nail systems facilitate nailing procedures and enhance the purchase capability of the femoral head by a lag screw. On the other hand, the failure rate still depends on the hands of the orthopedic surgeons. This review article focused on the basic principle of medial support and restoration of a medial buttress during the treatment of trochanteric fractures using a cephalomedullary nail.
결장직장암 치료에 대한 한의 임상 가이드라인 개발을 위한 기초연구

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to present the clinical practice guidelines for colorectal cancer through the analysis of existing clinical practice guidelines and randomised clinical trials (RCTs) in Western and Chinese medicine. Methods : The data related to Western and Oriental medical treatment of colorectal cancer were collected using various search engines such as Google Scholar, KIOM OASIS, PUBMED and Jisan library of Daejeon university. Results & Discussion : Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in Korea. In recent studies, applying combined oriental and western medicine can improve the survival, quality of life, immune function, and suppress of tumor growth in colorectal cancer. However there isn`t still an objective and systemic clinical guideline for colorectal cancer, so we have difficulty in clinical application. This study will be a preliminary study to establish clinical practice guidelines of Korean Medicine for colorectal cancer. Conclusions : Further objective and systemic clinical studies related to Korean Medicine are needed to develop more advanced clinical practice guidelines of colorectal cancer.

In this work it is analyzed to extend the traditional approach to optinal taxation based on the static non-game framework to the game theoretic approach to dynamic optinal taxation. Here I consider two types of games between the government and the representative labor, Stackelberg game and Nash game. Under each game both dynamic optinal tax rate and dynamic labor supply are derived differentially. Dyamic optinal tax rate and dynamic labor supply are time-consistent under noncooperative Nash game, while they are time-inconsistent under Stackelberg game.

본 연구는 건조 기능이 없는 빌트인 세탁기 사용으로 인해 불편이 존재하는 밀레니얼 세대 1 인 가구를 대상으로 개발된 세탁기의 제습도어 컨셉을 전제로 한다. 이 신규 컨셉의 효용성을 극대화하여 표현하면서도 정보 전달의 인지적 효율성도 고려한 인포그래픽 LED 디자인을 제안하는 연구를 수행하였다. 제습도어 상에 나타내 주어야 하는 정보를 캄테크 철학에 맞게 다섯 가지 대표 사용 예로 선별 및 상황 별 인포그래픽을 디자인하고, 대상 사용자를 리크루팅하여 실험을 통한 검증 및 디자인 개선을 수행한 결과를 소개한다.
