초음파를 이용한 14C 연대측정 토양시료의 부식산 추출법 개발

AMS (Accelerator Mass Spectrometry)를 이용한 방사성 탄소연대측정법으로 퇴적물 및 토양시료를 측정하기 위한 화학적 전처리법의 유기물 회수율을 개선하기 위하여, 초음파를 이용한 방법을 개발하였다. 일반적으로 널리 쓰이는 부식산 전처리법 중 단계 마다 사용되는 스터링법을 대신하여, 초음파(ultrasonic)를 사용하고 초음파 출력, 반응 온도, 반응 시간 등 실험조건을 결정하였다. 유기물 함유량이 적어 연대측정이 불가능했던 시료에 대한 탄소 회수율이 6배 향상되어 다량의 시료를 얻기 힘든 연대측정분야에서는 매우 중요한 개선이 이루어졌다. 또한 동일 시료에 대해 초음파법과 스터링법으로 처리한 시료의 연대측정결과를 비교하여 초음파법이 회수율 향상 이외에는 연대측정결과에 영향을 미치지 않음을 확인하여 실용성이 있음을 증명하였다.

Author studied the possible pathogenesis of spontaneous pneumothorax and its effective treatment in 33 cases, and the results obtained as follows:1) Of the 33 cases, 15 cases were originated from pulmonary tuberculosis, 11 cases were non-tuberculous natures and 7 cases were followed by traumatic chest injuries which were not associated with a laceration of the lung or rib fractures.2) So called "Idiopathic spontaneous pneumothorax" seemed mostly to be caused by rupture of the emphy- sematous blebs.3) Spontaneous pneumothorax, in process of the pulmonary tuberculosis, seemed to be caused by the rupture of blebs which was formed with a pathological process of chronic pulmonary tuberculosis.4) Author experienced interesting cases of giant blebs which had been fully occupied the right thoracic cavity. At first, it was misdiagnosed as extensive spontaneous pneumothorax on X-ray which was revealed extensive pleural air shadow with total atelectasis of the right lung. A pneumonectomy was performed together with the giant multiple blebs.5] Generally, closed thoracotomy with water-sealed drainage is the treatment of choice in spontaneous pneumothorax. However, open thoracotomy and adequate surgical procedures should be undertaken in patients with continuous air leakage or recurrent attack of spontaneous pneumothorax.aneous pneumothorax.

A case of non-malignant esophago-bronchial fistula of 15 years duration is described and problems of diagnosis and therapy are discussed. Pulmonary tuberculosis is the most likely etiology of their fistula,but other inflammatory origin is not completly rule out.
활성탄에 의한 구리 (Ⅱ) 암모니아 착염이온의 흡착 특성

활성탄에 의한 암모니아 구리착물의 흡착 특성에 대하여 연구하였다. 활성탄 비표면적을 BET 흡착장치에서 측정하였고, 암모니아수용액에서 암모니아 착물를 이용하여 Cu(II)이온 제거 특성과 활성탄에 의한 착물흡착에서 암모니아착물 형태에 대하여 연구하였다. 실험 결과 비표면적 크기는 mesh No.가 감소할 수록 증가하였고, 활성탄에 의한 Cu(II)이온 흡착은 pH 6 범위가 적합함을 알았다. 또한 암모니아수용액에서 암모니아 구리착물이 활성탄에 흡착되는 형태는 [Cu(NH₃)_2]^(2+)와 [Cu(NH₃)₃]^(2+)로 흡착됨을 알았으며, 암모니아 농도는 2.25×10^(-4)∼2.25×10^(-3)(mol/ℓ) 범위에서 검토하였다. The adsorption characteristics of ammonia-Cu(II) complex on activated carbon were studied. Firstly, the specific surface area of the activated carbon was measured by using the BET adsorption apparatus. Secondly, the characteristics of the removal copper(II) ion from aqueous ammonia solution by forming a complex with ammonia and then by the adsorption of the complex on the activated carbon were studied. It was found that the specific surface area increases with decreasing the mesh number of the activated carbon, and the optimum pH for the adsorption of the Cu(II) ion on the activated carbon was found to be approximately 6. It was also found that the adsorbed Cu(II)-ammonia complexes on the activated carbon in the aqueous ammonia solution have two types, depending on the concentration of the solution ; i.e. [Cu(NH₃)₂]^(2+) and [Cu(NH₃)₃]^(2+) for 2.25×10^(-4)(mol/ℓ) and 2.25×10^(-3)(mol/ℓ), respectively.

B(E2) and B(M1) from lifetimes of first several excited states of ??Gd have been calculated. And lifetime of 123.08 keV transition from the lowest excited state was measured by delayed coincidence method using TPHC. The lifetime of the transition was 1.176 ns. Furthermore lifetime of the other transitions, 248.11keV, 346.71keV, 557.58keV, 1004.76keV were obtained from other experimental papers. With these values, B(E2) and B(M1) were evaluated by using the Unified Model made by Bohr-Nottelson and compared them with the theoretical values calculated based on I.B.A (Interacting Boson Approximation) model. Excellent agreement was found in the case of B(E) for 123.08keV in 0.26% error.

A Newton-Raphson method was proposed to develop a general and fast computer program for the simulation of steady-state distillation column. Efficient and reliable numerical methods are required to solve highly interacting nonlinear algebraic equations for the simulation of steady-state distillation column. To improve the performance of Newton-Raphson method, which is often very effective in solving nonlinear equations through the use of linearization, Jacobian correction or sign change correction were utilized. The result show the modified method to be an effective combination of the advantage of each method, with reduction in computing load by the use of Newton-Raphson method and expansion in convergence region through the use of Jacobian correction or sign change correction.
