        Terrain rendering plays an important role in many applications such as computer games, computer graphics, geographic information systems, and virtual reality. These applications require terrain navigation or fly-through in an interactive mode, but the original terrain data is usually too large to display interactively even though the performance of graphics hardwares has been greatly improved. Therefore, researchers have studied methods which reduce the amount of the original terrain data while retaining the quality of the terrain image. LOD(levels of detail) methods are an essential tool, which presents the near or important parts by a large number of small polygons, and the far or unimportant parts by a small number of large polygons. In this paper, we study terrain data representations and their corresponding LOD algorithms from the point of an effective view frustum culling.

        유전자 알고리즘을 사용한 타워 디펜스 공격대의 자동 구성 기법

        타워 디펜스 게임에서 레벨 디자인은 게임의 재미에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요소이다. 각 레벨의 난이도는 레벨 내에 등장하는 공격대의 조합에 따라 결정된다. 게임 기획 단계에서 게임의 재미를 주면서도 적절한 난이도를 갖춘 공격대를 구성하기 위하여 많은 시간이 소모된다. 본 논문에서는 유전자 알고리즘을 사용하여 타워 디펜스 게임에서 공격대 조합을 자동으로 생성하는 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템을 통해 레벨 디자이너는 난이도 목표치의 입력만으로도 다양한 공격대 유닛 조합을 자동으로 생성할 수 있게 된다. 이는 게임 기획 단계에서 원하는 공격대 조합을 생성하는데 필요한 수작업 시간을 단축시킴으로서 업무 효율을 높일 수 있을 것이다. Level design is one of the important factors in tower defense game development. The difficulty of tower defense game depends on its wave design. In general, it requires a lot of manual labor to generate well-balanced waves with fun. In this paper, we propose a new automated wave generation system by using a genetic algorithm. With our system, a game designer can easily generate an optimized wave by designating the difficulty level in the initial stage of game design. Our system can be useful in reducing the trial-errors in the initial level design process of tower defense game development.

        국내 물리치료분야에 대한 질적 평가와 근거 수준 및 권고 등급 모형 개발 방안

        Purpose : This study aimed to identify ways to improve the quality of physical therapy research and ultimately review the current situation to improve evidence-based decision-making in physical therapy. Methods : For better evidence-based decision-making in physical therapy, researchers should review the quality assessment of articles in more detail and report their findings for valid and appropriate level of evidence and strength of recommendations. The level of evidence affects how well the findings are derived from well-designed literature. The evaluation of the evidence focuses primarily on the study design and the degree of bias that may compromise the validity of the findings. The final recommendation is based on a combination of the study design and literature quality. To uncover gems of information in each paper, a risk of bias assessment should be performed after the literature has been initially selected. Results : Researchers should consider the complexity of the intervention, appropriate grouping, and calculation of effect sizes for the intervention. Researchers conducting systematic reviews should provide a detailed description of the quality assessment performed and present a detailed analysis of their interpretation of the results. The results of systematic reviews and meta-analyses should be interpreted with caution and include a risk of bias assessment. Guidelines for the level of evidence and strength of recommendations should be developed and utilized more broadly to improve reporting practices in physical therapy. Conclusion : Researchers should be knowledgeable about the strengths and limitations of each study design and methodology. In the future, researchers will also need to improve their ability to critically evaluate their findings, given the potential for their results to influence clinical practice.

        First record of invasive species Alliaria petiolata (M. Bieb.) Cavara & Grande (Brassicaceae) in Korea

        Alliaria petiolata (M. Bieb.) Cavara & Grande (Brassicaceae) is an invasive species which is native in Europe and SW Asia. This species is currently invading the understory of mature temperate forests of North America. In Korea, A. petiolata is found to invade and colonize areas at forest margins along roadsides (Samcheok-si, Gangwon-do). This initial investigation serves to inform of the importance of early detection and extermination of this particular weed in Korea.

        Systematic study of Korean Asparagus L. based on morphology and nuclear ITS sequences

        Morphological and geographical examinations as well as phylogenetic analyses using ITS sequences were performed for Asparagus L. in Korea. A total of five species of Asparagus were confirmed to be distributed in South Korea. The shape of cladophylls, length of pedicels, and shape of perianth were considered to be important characteristics for the identification of Koran Asparagus species. A monophyly of each species was evident in the ITS phylogenetic trees in which multiple accessions (5 to 24, depending on species) represented each of the five Korean species. A. rigidulus Nakai, once considered conspecific to A. schoberioides Kunth, formed a distinct lineage in the ITS trees. Pedicels of A. rigidulus, which is distributed mainly in coastal areas, were about two times longer than those of A. schoberioides occurring in inland areas, suggesting that they should be treated as distinct taxa.

        다기관의 재활서비스 이용실태에 대한 만족도 연구

        This study was conducted to investigate the satisfaction level on the environment and attitude according to the actuality of utilization of physical therapy. The research subject was randomly selected receiving physical therapy and conducted questionnaire for 3 weeks from July 2 to July 19, 2014. Total 892 questionnaires were collected. For data analysis method, the statistics processing was conducted with student t-test, One-way ANOVA and Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. Factors that made influence on satisfaction level of physical therapy were ‘Do you think you need to received physical therapy’ and ‘Which factor makes greatest impact on creating image on your physical therapist’. Systematic improvement is considered necessary for limitations that this study had through follow-up studies based on the preliminary data on satisfaction level of patients who received physical therapy. 본 연구는 물리치료 이용실태에 따른 만족도를 알아보기 위하여 실시하였다. 물리치료를 받은 사람에 한하여 2014년 7월 2일부터 2014년 7월 19일까지 종이 설문지와 SNS를 통한 설문지 수집 방법을 사용하였다. 총 892명이 설문지에 응답하였다. 자료 분석 방법은 평균 차이 검정과 신뢰도 검정을 이용하였다. 만족도에 많은 영향을 미치는 문항은 ‘귀하는 물리치료가 필요하다고 생각하십니까’, ‘귀하에게 물리치료사에 대한 이미지를 형성하는데 가장 영향을 미치는 것은 무엇입니까’이었다. 물리치료를 받은 환자의 만족도에 관한 기초자료를 토대로 본 연구가 지닌 한계를 후속 연구를 통하여 제도적 개선이 필요할 것으로 고려된다.

        고속도로 주변 토양의 나트륨흡착비(SAR)를 이용한 제설제 분포 추적

        The goal of this study was to estimate the possible scattering distance of deicer from the highway and the impact range ofdeicer on soil quality in terms of plant growth. Among the major elements (Ca2+, Cl and Na+) of deicer, Ca2+and Cl areusually applied as fertilizer to soil. Therefore both elements (Ca2+and Cl) were not appropriate for a tracer of deicer at theagricultural area. In this study, SAR (sodium adsorption ratio) of soil was proposed as an alternative tracer to confirm thedistribution of the deicer around the highway areas. Because deicer is the main anthropogenic source of Na+ around thehighway areas and does harm to the physical properties of soil and plant growth through the destruction of soil aggregate,SAR would be an recommendable tracer to access the distribution of deicer as well as adverse effect on soil quality athighway areas. The influence range of deicer based on SAR of soil was estimated to be less than 20 m distance from thehighway even though the possible flying distance of deicer was found to be more than 100 m from the highway. Howeverthe deicer seriously deposited within 10 m from the highway.
