Pineal gland tumors comprise 0.4-1% of adult intracranial tumors. Glioblastoma, which is the most frequent glioma in brain tumors, is extremely rare in the pineal region. A 74-year-old man complaining of gait disturbance, urinary incontinence, and memory disturbance underwent ventroperitoneal (VP) shunt under the impression of obstrctive hydrocephalus that occurred secondarily to a tumor in the pineal gland. He refused treatment for the tumor. The symptoms were improved after the VP shunt. Six months postoperatively, he experienced a reaggravation of symptoms. An increase in tumor size was disclosed in brain imaging studies. The patient underwent an occipital craniotomy with occipital trans-tentorial approach. Pathological findings were consistent with glioblastoma. This case emphasizes the importance of considering glioblastoma as a differential diagnosis of pineal gland tumors, particularly if peritumoral heterogenous enhancement is observed. The role of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy on survival duration is not yet well established. Therefore, studies exploring the effect of each modalities on survival duration are needed.
새로운 Automatic White Balance 알고리즘의 제안

본 논문에서는 디지털 카메라의 화질을 높여주기 위한 ISP 칩의 다양한 기능에 속하는 automatic white balance(AWB) 알고리즘을 제안한다. AWB는 외부 조명의 색온도를 판별하여 R, G, B값을 보정해주는 알고리즘으로서 본 논문에서는 입력영상의 R, G, B 각 성분에 대하여 히스토그램 평활화를 수행 한 후 YCbCr 공간으로 변환하고 실험을 통해 구한 임계값을 적용하여 기준흰색영역을 검출한다. 기준흰색영역에 속하는 R, G, B 각 성분의 gain을 구하여 입력 영상을 보정하는 white balance를 수행한다. 다양한 조명하의 영상에 대해 기존의 AWB 알고리즘들과 본 논문에서 제안한 알고리즘의 성능을 비교하고 분석한다.

공동주택에서 SPD의 리드선 길이 및 보호거리에 대한 영향 평가

The proper installation of SPD and the evaluation of the SPD protection distance are basic steps for the effective protection measures of apparatus against surges within a structure. A novel method for installing SPD on the conventional distribution board without any modification was proposed and it’s effectiveness was evaluated by experiments. Also, the transient overvoltage occurred across the power line from the SPD to the load was simulated with EMTP software to see how different the protection distances affecting the magnitude of the transient overvoltage. As evaluated, the effective protection method of apparatus against surges, coordinated SPD protection system is suggested as a proper measure to protect within the apartment.

This paper gives a concept of the SPD energy sharing in the low-voltage power line against lightning surge. Lightning surges contain significant amount of energy that needs to be diverted away from the electronic devices. When the electronic devices is installed close to the electric service entrance, or outdoor enclosure, it is necessary to add surge protective devices(SPD). This paper explain the purpose and the concept of surge protective device (SPD) coordination in accordance with KSCIEC 62306-4 standard.
