        선천성 무홍채증 환자에서 인공수정체 삽입술 후 발생한 전방 내 섬유혈관막 1예

        Purpose: To report a case of an anterior fibrovascular membrane following cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation in a patient with congenital aniridia. Case summary: A 13-year-old girl presented with congenital aniridia and cataracts in both eyes. She underwent cataract extraction by phacoemulcification with intraocular lens implantation. Six months after cataract surgery, a progressive anterior chamber fibrovascular membrane was noted in both intraocular lens and rudimentary iris. Surgical excision of the fibrovascular membrane was performed, but there was recurrence after five weeks in both eyes. Subsequent surgical intervention on both eyes involved intraocular lens explantation combined with membranectomy to prevent recurrence and phthisis. Surgical findings indicated that the fibrovascular membrane involved the retrolenticular space, and histopathological evidence indicated that the extensive fibrotic tissue originated from the root of the rudimentary iris. Conclusions: Patients with congenital aniridia should be monitored carefully for the development of intraocular fibrosis after intraocular lens implantation. If a fibrovascular membrane is noted, early surgical intervention is recommended, and the explantation of the intraocular lens should be considered during surgical intervention to prevent recurrence and complications.

        탈신경 과민반응 발현 이전의 에이디 긴장성 동공 1예

        Purpose: Denervation supersensitivity to 0.125% pilocarpine is an important factor in making a diagnosis of Adie’s tonic pupil. However, it generally takes several weeks for denervation supersensitivity to manifest after an injury to the nerve ganglion. We report a case of ‘acute’ Adie’s tonic pupil before the manifestation of denervation supersensitivity. Case summary: A 53-year-old man with no significant past medical history visited our clinic, reporting mydriasis of his left eye. Pupil size was 8 mm in the right eye, 3 mm in the left. Loss of both direct/indirect light reflex and light-near reflex were observed. The left pupil did not react to 0.125% Pilocarpine, but constricted in response to 1% pilocarpine. After 5 months, the pupil size did not change, but the pupil constricted in response to 0.125% pilocarpine. Conclusions: In an isolated case of dilated pupil, though the pupil did not react to 0.125% pilocarpine, with respect to the Adie’s tonic pupil, to check the manifestation of denervation supersensitivity should be needed at regular intervals.

        백내장을 동반한 녹내장 환자에서 백내장 수술이 시야 결손에 미치는 영향

        Purpose: To determine the effect of cataract extraction on visual field damage in glaucoma patients with cataracts. Methods: Sixty-two eyes of fifty glaucoma patients (primary open-angle glaucoma, angle-closure glaucoma, and normal-tension glaucoma) were divided into three groups according to the MD (mean deviation) value from the Humphrey automatic visual field test. The PSD (pattern standard deviation) values were analyzed before and after the cataract surgery. Additionally, the visual acuity, intraocular pressure and the number of antiglaucomatous agents were compared. Results: All of the three groups, showed significant improvement in visual acuity. However, there was only a significant decrease in intraocular pressure at three months postoperatively. When comparing the mean MD values of each group, there was a statistically significant difference between the mild defect group and the severe defect group, but no statistically significant difference in the moderate defect group. There was also no statistically significant difference in PSD values in the any of the groups before and after cataract surgeries. Conclusions: In glaucoma patients with cataracts, there were no significant differences in PSD values before and after cataract surgery. Additionally, to perform an adequate cataract operation in advanced glaucoma patients without the progression of visual field damage, lowering intraocular pressure and improving visual acuity is helpful.         한국 전통마을의 형성과 발전에 관한 연구 -경남 산청 단계마을을 중심으로-

        The objective of this study is to describe more positively and concretely the entity of traditional village through the quantitative and scientific analysis process using positive data. Dan-Gye, a traditional village in San-Cheong, has been populated since more than 500 years ago because of its ideal conditions for settlement. In this study, the fluctuations on the numbers of households in Dan-Gye were analyzed from the first settlement era to the present, and the transformations of housing sites and roads since 1913 were also analyzed. The results are as follows. 1) The village Dan-Gye has a history of more than 500 years, and the first inhabitants were the Ryus. As time went by, the Ryus' power became weak gradually, but the powers of the Kwons and the Parks who had flowed later into this village became prosperous to make up a prominent family village in the late period of Cho-Sun dynasty. Such powers had reached the peak in the early period of Japanese occupation, and although the powers became weak gradually after that time, those two families have overwhelmed other families in population and possession of large houses until now. But as the confucianism in every-day life fell off and the inhabitants moved to cities, the existence of a family community became meaningless. 2) The Kwons and the Parks have possessed the large parts of the village's housing sites. As time went by, the sites have been divided and fields have been changed to housing sites for the increasing families, and such division and change have been made chiefly on perimeter areas. 3) The characteristics of the road in Dan-Gye where traditional roads existed began to be destroyed by Japanese construction of new roads, and such destruction has continued due to the bank construction after a flood and the road constructions after 1970s.

        중국(中國) 연변지구(延邊地區) 조선족(朝鮮族)마을의 구성(構成) 룡정시 지신향 장재촌을 대상으로

        Ch'ang-Ts'al-Ts'un is a rural Village near Lung-jing City in Yen-pien Korean Autonomous Province of China. It was formed about 100 years ago by Korean Immigrants and has been developed maintaing the characteristics of traditional Korean architecture. Therefore investigating the spatial structure of this village is a meanigful work to confirm and explore one branch of Korean architecture. This study aims at analyzing the spatial structure of the village using direct data collected from the field work and indirect data from books and maps. The field work consists of on-the-site survey of the village layout, interviews of residents, observation notes and photography. Ch'ang-Ts'ai-Ts'un is located 360-370 m high above the sea level and at the side of a long valley. A river flows in the middle of the valley and relatively flat arable land exists at the both sides of the river. The location of the village related to the surrounding river and mountains suggests that the site of the village was chosen according to Feng-Shui, Chinese and Korean traditional architectural theory. The main direction of the house layouts is South-western. The village has been growing gradually until today. Therefore it is meaningful to make the village layout before Liberation(1946 A.D.) because the characteristics of Korean architecture prevailed more in that period. The area of the previous village is limited to the west side of the creek. New houses were later added to the east of the creek, forming a 'New Village'. Previously the village was composed of 3 small villages: Up, Middle and Down. Also the main access roads connecting the village with the neighboring villages were penetrating the village transversely. Presently the main access road comes to the village longitudinally from the main highway located in front of the village. The retrospective layout shows the existence of well-formed Territory, Places and Axes, thus suggesting a coherent Micro-cosmos. The boundary of imaginery territory perceived by present residents could be defined by linking conspicous outside places sorrounding the village such as Five-mountains, Front-mountain, Shin-dong village, Standing-rock, Rear-mountain and Myong-dong village. Inside the territory there are also the important places such as Bus-stop, Memorial tower of patriots, Road-maitenance building and the village itself. And inside it 5 transverse and 1 longitudinal axes exist in the form of river, roads and mountains. The perceived spatial structure of the village formed by Places, Axes and Territory is geometrical and well-balanced and suggests this village is fit for human settlement. The administrative area of the village is about 738 ha, 27 % of which is cultivated land and the rest is mountain area. Initially the village and surrounndings were covered with natural forest But the trees have been gradually cut down for building and warning houses, resulting in the present barren and artificial landscape with bare mountains and cultivated land. At present the area of the village occupied by houses is wedge-shaped, 600 m wide and 220 m deep in its maximum. The total area of the village is $122,175m^{2}$. The area and the rate of each sub-division arc as follow. 116 house-lots $91,465m^{2}$ (74.9 %) Land for public buildings and shops $2,980m^{2}$ (2.4 %) Roads $17,106m^{2}$ (14.0 %) Creek $1,356m^{2}$ (1.1 %) Vacant spaces and others $9,268m^{2}$ (7.6 %) TOTAL $122,175m^{2}$ (100.0 %) Each lot is fenced around with vertical wooden pannels 1.5-1.8 m high and each house is located to the backside of the lot. The open space of a lot is sub-divided into three areas using the same wooden fence: Front yard, Back yard and Access area. Front and back yards are generally used for crop-cultivation, the custom of which is rare in Korea. The number of lots is 116 and the average size of area is $694.7m^{2}$.         Smart window technology has become a major component of smart buildings, leading to energy savings and enhanced functionality. Smart windows work like curtains or blind screens, blocking external light sources. Smart window components employ electrochromic or photochromic materials that can selectively block sunlight when electricity is applied. The installation of low-E glass and building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) is being encouraged in accordance with the policy on saving building energy. To incorporate BIPV into smart windows, the transparency and colors of transparent photovoltaics must be optimized. The power sources required to operate these smart windows take advantage of the transparent color of the solar cells, which also facilitates aesthetics. Self-powered smart windows that combine electrochromic or photochromic screens with transparent solar cells suggest a promising convergent technology.

        A rare case of intracranial seeding from a craniopharyngioma is presented. A 25-year-old man underwent radical resection of a suprasellar papillary craniopharyngioma 3 months previously. There had been no clinical evidence of recurrence, however, routine follow-up MRI showed a recurrent tumor. The multilobulated metastatic craniopharyngioma was not anatomically connected to the suprasellar region, but originated from the Sylvian fissure along the former surgical route. Pathologic examination again showed papillary craniopharyngioma that had the same histological features of the previous tumor. This case signifies that direct implantation of the tumor could occur adjacent to the surgical exposure site.

        레이더 영상자료의 Speckle 필터링 효과

        Speckle 잡음은 레이더 영상자료의 활용에 적지 않은 장애가 될 수 있으며, 따라서 이 문제를 해결하기 위한 노력이 꾸준히 진행되어 왔다. 최근 몇 년 동안 레이더 영상센서를 탑재한 인공 위성들이 발사되었고 그 어느 때보다 이 자료의 활용에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 레이더영상의 speckle 억제를 위한 기본적 개념의 이해와 아울러 기존에 발표된 여러 가지의 speckle 필터의 효과를 비교하고자 한다. 1995년 RADARSAT위성에서 얻어진 수도권 지역의 SAR 영상자료에서 표면상태가 다양한 被服形을 포함하는 두 곳의 연구지역을 선정하였다. 영상의 잡음제거에 널리 사용되어 온 평균필터와 중앙값필터와 함께, 레이더 speckle모델을 기초로 개발된 시그마필터, 局所統計植필터. 그리고 自己相關필터 등 총 5개의 필터가 사용되었다. 필터링 결과는 smoothing효과와 境界線維持효과에 중점을 두어 비교되었다. 전체적으로 speckle모델을 기초로 개발된 局所統計植필터와 自己相關필터가 다른 필터에 비하여 다른 피복형간의 경계를 흐리지 않고 speckle을 억제하여 영상의 均質感(smoothing) 효과가 우수하게 나타났다. Speckle noise has been a primary concern to many applications of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imagery. In recent years, several satellites with radar imaging systems were launched and the use of SAR data are expected to be increased rapidly. The objectives of this study are to provide introductory understanding on radar speckle filtering and to compare the effects of several filtering methods that are relatively unknown to user community. Two study sites were extracted from the RADARSAT SAR data obtained over the suburban areas near Seoul. The study sites include relatively homogeneous cover types, such as reservoir, parking lot, rice pad, and deciduous forest. Five filters (mean filter, median filter, sigma filter, local statistics filter, and autocorrelation filter) were applied to the SAR imagery and their effects were evaluated from the aspects of both image smoothing and edge preservation. In overall, the evaluation results indicate that the local statistics filter and autocorrelation filter, that are based on a speckle model, are more effective to suppress speckle within homogeneous cover type while maintaining the edge sharpness between cover types.
