Background: The study on retinal blood flow has been continuously pursued and recently new methods such as targeted dye delivery, fluorescent vesicle system, laser Doppler velocimetry and acridine orange staining method has been presented. The authors developed a new method, fluorescein leukocyte angiography using a scanning laser ophthalmoscope which include external staining of leukocyte with fluorescein dye and reintroducing this fluorescent leukocyte into the blood flow. However, visualization of the leukocytes was limited since the leukocytes used were from the peripheral blood in a small animal. Methods: The authors removed leukocytes from the spleen and stained these leukocytes which were reintroduced into the blood flow to observe the retinal and choroidal blood circulation. In four pair of rats, one group was injected with the leukocytes of another rat's spleen and the other group were injected with the leukocytes of each own's individual spleen and all underwent angiography. Results: There were only few lymphocytes visualized in the group of rats which eceived allo-injection of leukocytes and in the other group the lymphocytes were numerous and also had a longer existence. Conclusions: In small animals like rats the visualization of the lymphocytes used from the spleen was better than the those from the peripheral blood and lymphocytes from one own's spleen was useful for longer periods of visualization.
W-Index 광도파로를 이용한 협대역 스펙트럼 필터에 관한 연구

In this paper, a narrow-band spectral filter constructed with a W-index optical waveguide is proposed and analyzed. The proposed filter offers a spectral width on the order of one nanometer, considerably narrower than that provided by a filter made of two step-index optical waveguides having the same transmission wavelength. The narrow spectral width is achieved by exploiting a relatively large slope difference between the dispersion characteristics of the W-index and step-index waveguides constituting the filter. The transmission characteristic of the proposed filter with peak transmission at 1550nm is calculated and compared with that of a corresponding filter made of two step-index waveguides

PCDD/F(Polychlirinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans) in both of treated fabric and untreated fabric for working clothes of a municipal waste incineration were determinated. The treated fabric for working clothes was developed for less exposure of PCDD/F in municipal waste incinerations. The total concentrations of PCDD/F in some parts such as surface, middle layer, inside for treated and untreated fabric were investigated. The I-TEQ value of surface was 0.23370ng ·TEQ/g for treated fabric, 0.15355ng ·TEQ/g for non-treated fabric. On the other hand, the value of middle layer was 0.00077ng ·TEQ/g, 0.00177ng ·TEQ/g, respectively. The surface of the treated fabric containing high levels PCDD/F was caused by absorption of them. Therefore, PCDD/F of the treated fabric in middle layer was less I-TEQ value than that of the untreated fabric. The treated fabric makes effect on preventing PCDD/F from permeating into human body.

Formation of Cotton xanthate-Mg(Ⅱ)-Homosulfamine complex was investigated varying reaction conditions. Release of homosulfamin from cotton xanthate-Mg(Ⅱ)-homosulfamin complex was studied by batch- and flow-method. Antimicrobial activities were tested against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 12228, Bacillus subtillis TG-1 Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 9027 and Escherichia coli (NA-1) by employing ditch plate method and compared to that of free Hs.

Dextran-5-aminosalicylic acid ester (dextran-5-ASA) was synthesized as a colon-specific prodrug of 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA) which is active against inflammatory bowel diseases. Chemical stability of dextran-5-ASA in the bath of pH 1.2 or 6.8 was investigated at $37^{\circ}C$ for 6 hrs, and 5-ASA was not released on such conditions. Depolymerization (%) of dextran-5-ASA by dextranase with the degree of substitution (DS) of 18, 23, or 30 was 92, 62 or 45 in 8 hrs respectively, but was not affected by the MW of dextran (9,000, 40,600, 80,200 or 580,000). Distribution of 5-ASA in dextran, determined by gel filtration chromatography, appeared to be relatively uniform. Incubation of dextran-5-ASA (DS 18) in cecal contents of rats released 20% (28 g) and 35% (49 g) of 5-ASA in 8 hrs and 24 hrs, respectively, but no 5-ASA was liberated from small intestinal contents.
