The current study was designed to evaluate the positive rates of arthropod allergens by Korean inhalant panel of MAST-CLA in patients with allergic rhinitis. One hundred sixty patients, diagnosed to allergic rhinitis in an Out Patient Center of Soonchunhyang University Chunan Hopsital during Aug 1998 to July 2000, were studied. 1. The overall positive rate among 35 specific allergens was 59.4% (95 patients). 2. The arthropod related allergen accounted for 82.1% (78 patients) of the positive rate. 3. Each positive rate of Dermatophagoides farinae (Df), Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus (Dp), house dust (Hd), and cockroach mix (Cm) was 45.0% (72 patients), 43.1% (69 patients), 28.1% (45 patients), and 8.8% (14 patients), respectively. 4.Significant agreement between arthropod allergens was observer (P < 0.05). 5. The obseved agreement between Df and Dp was 95.6%, showing most significant Kappa index (Kappa = 0.911, P < 0.001). There results suggested that although MAST-CLA is a useful measure of identifying specific allergens, the specificity of two mite allergen relatively low, implying because of common allergen between mites in Korean panel of MAST-CLA. Our data also supported that arthropod is the major cause of allergen in patients with allergic rhinitis, however, the MAST-CLA should be modified in order to exclude common allergen of mite and to include more specific mite allergen.
Sodium Tetradecyl Sulfate의 국소 주입이 조직에 미치는 영향에 관한 실험적 연구

Sclerosing agents had been one of the method for the treatment of hemangioma since Lewis introduce the local injection of Sodium morrhuate at 1957. We also had good results with local injection of S.T.S .for the treatment hemangioma in 120 cases since 1987 without any complications, such as allergic reaction of skin necrosis. But there was somewhat hard fibrosis in 74 cases(58%) and in some cases, we can't sure whether the agent injected in only pathologic area accurately or not expecially in uncoorperatable children patients. So we studied about the reaction of normal tissue of rabbits with local injection of sodium tetradecyl sulfate, and the results showed marked inflammation followed by fibrosis, which looks permanent. From our study, we can suggest that local injection of Sodium Tetradecyl Sulfate should be confined to the intravascular injection.

Asian-lineage H5 highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) viruses have caused continuous outbreaks in poultry and wild birds. Development of rapid and accurate diagnostic methods is needed for preventing further spread of the virus and reducing the time required for eradication of the virus. We developed a low-density microarray for the rapid detection and identification of avian influenza virus subtypes H5, H7, and H9 and their pathotypes in a previous study. In the present study, we evaluated previously developed diagnostic microarray using avian influenza viruses isolated in Mongolia, including H5 HPAI viruses. All H5 HPAI viruses isolated in Mongolia were shown as H5-specific and highly pathogenic pattern in the microarray. H2, H3 and H12 viruses isolated in Mongolia used in this study did not show any H5, H7 and H9 patterns. These results indicated that this diagnostic microarray has enormous potential for the rapid subtyping and pathotyping of influenza viruses, including viruses isolated in Mongolia.

<P>Two-dimensional van der Waals (2D vdWs) materials are a class of new materials that can provide important resources for future electronics and materials sciences due to their unique physical properties. Among 2D vdWs materials, black phosphorus (BP) has exhibited significant potential for use in electronic and optoelectronic applications because of its allotropic properties, high mobility, and direct and narrow band gap. Here, we demonstrate a few-layered BP-based nonvolatile memory transistor with a poly(vinylidenefluoride-trifluoroethylene) (P(VDF-TrFE)) ferroelectric top gate insulator. Experiments showed that our BP-based ferroelectric transistors operate satisfactorily at room temperature in ambient air and exhibit a clear memory window. Unlike conventional ambipolar BP transistors, our ferroelectric transistors showed only p-type characteristics due to the carbon–fluorine (C–F) dipole effect of the P(VDF-TrFE) layer, as well as the highest linear mobility value of 1159 cm<SUP>2</SUP> V<SUP>–1</SUP> s<SUP>–1</SUP> with a 10<SUP>3</SUP> on/off current ratio. For more advanced memory applications beyond unit memory devices, we implemented two memory inverter circuits, a resistive-load inverter circuit and a complementary inverter circuit, combined with an n-type molybdenum disulfide (MoS<SUB>2</SUB>) nanosheet.
