        태음조위탕(太陰調胃湯) 약물 가감(加減) 원리

        Objectives This study aimed at proposing a hypothetical principle to add or abstract herbs for modifying Taeeumjowi-tang.Method Based on Jema Lee's literatures such as Dongyisusebowon and Dongyisasangsipyeon, we analyzed contents related to Taeeumjowi-tang and its modification. Moreover, we reviewed physiological and pathological pecularities of Taeeumin symptomatology and applied the theory to induce the principle of the modified Taeeumjowi-tang in Sasang medicine.Results and Conclusions 1) We have found 10 modified Taeeumjowi-tang from Dongyisasangsipyeon. 2) Mahwangjowi-tang (麻黃調胃湯), Gogijowi-tang (固氣調胃湯), Shingijowi-tang (腎氣調胃湯), Euiyiinjowi-tang (薏苡仁調胃湯), Gamijowi-tang (加味調胃湯), and Gyeongheomjowi-tang (經驗調胃湯) are modified for Taeeumin who have original symptoms of more severe cold tendency. Especially, Gogijowi-tang helps to circulate energy-fluid from esophagus to skin, while Shingijowi-tang directly aids the function of esophagus. 3) Seungjijowi-tang (升芷調胃湯), Seunggeumjowi-tang (升芩調胃湯), Seunggijowi-tang (承氣調胃湯), and Jowisokmyung-tang (調胃續命湯) are modified for Taeeumin who have originally cold symtoms, accompanied by heat tendencies. Especially, Seungjijowi-tang helps to eliminate mild heat existing throughout skin and flesh, while Seunggeumjowi-tang gets rid of severe heat swarming in the flesh parts. Seunggijowi-tang can take away the most severe heat symptoms in the whole body

        IPA기법을 활용한 골프장의 물리적, 사회적 서비스스케이프에 대한 중요도와 만족도 차이분석: 해석수준이론을 중심으로

        본 연구는 골프장의 물리적, 사회적 서비스스케이프의 중요도와 만족도에 대한 고객의 평가가 골프에 대한 해석수준(사회적 거리감)에 따라 어떠한 차이가 있는 지 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 골프장 방문경험이 있는 고객을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 총 328부를 최종 분석에 이용하였다. SPSS 23.0, AMOS 21.0을 활용하여, 기술통계분석, 신뢰도 분석, 확인적 요인분석, 타당도 분석, 대응표본 t-검정 및 IPA 분석을 실시하여 다음의 결과를 도출하였다. 첫째, 해석수준에 따라서 골프장의 물리적, 사회적 서비스스케이프에 대한 중요도와 만족도 인지에 차이가 있었다. 구체적으로 사회적 거리감이 먼 집단은 공간성, 심미성, 청결성, 편의성, 프론트 직원 친절도, 캐디 친절도, 캐디 이미지가 Ⅰ사분면에 해당하는 것으로 나타났으며, 사회적 거리감이 가까운 집단의 경우 프론트 직원 이미지가 추가적으로 포함되어 나타났다. 둘째, Ⅱ사분면에는 두 집단 모두 해당하는 요인이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 거리감이 먼 집단은 다른 고객과 유사성, 다른 고객 외모가 Ⅲ사분면에 해당하였으며, 거리감이 가까운 집단은 쾌적성이 추가적으로 포함되어 나타났다. 마지막으로, 거리감이 먼 집단은 쾌적성, 프론트 직원 이미지가 Ⅳ사분면에 해당하였으나, 거리감이 가까운 집단은 해당하는 요인이 없는 것으로 나타났다. The purpose of the current study was to analyze how golf club customers’ assessments of the importance and performance of the servicescape factors differs as a function of construal level (i.e., social distance). The final sample consisted of 328 participants who have previously visited a golf club. Data analyses were conducted through descriptive statistical analysis, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), reliability analysis, validity analysis, paired t-test and importance-performance analysis (IPA) by utilizing SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 21.0 statistical packages. The results indicated that, first, assessments of the importance and performance of the physical and social servicescapes of golf clubs differed depending on the perceived social distance. Specifically, the first quadrant of the IPA matrix included the servicescape factors of space, aesthetics, cleanliness, convenience, front staff kindness, caddy kindness, and caddy image for customers who perceived a far social distance, whereas for customers who perceived a close social distance, the additional servicescape factor of front staff image was included. Second, none of the servicescape factors were categorized into the second quadrant for both groups. Third, the third quadrant included customer similarity and customer appearance for the far social distance group, whereas for the close social distance group, comfort, customer similarity, and customer appearance were included. Lastly, the fourth quadrant included comfort and front staff image for the far social distance group, while no factors were included for the close social distance group.

        한국 대기업 내 교육훈련특성, 전이동기, 학습전이와의 관계에서 업무성과-보상 기대가 미치는 조절된 매개효과 연구

        본 연구의 목적은 국내 기업의 학습전이 제고를 위해 교육훈련특성(전이촉진적 교육방법, 교육내용의 업무 연계성), 전이동기, 학습전이의 관계에서 업무성과-보상 기대가 갖는 역할을 규명하는 것이다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 H 그룹에서 교육훈련을 이수한 610명의 직원들을 유의표집하여 교육종료 3개월 후 설문조사로 자료를 수집하였고, SPSS PROCESS MACRO를 활용하여 조절된 매개모형을 분석하였다. 분석 결과 첫째, 전이촉진적 교육방법과 교육내용의 업무 연계성은 전이동기와 정(+)적인 관계가 있었다. 둘째, 전이동기는 학습전이와 정(+)적인 관계가 있었다. 셋째, 업무성과-보상 기대는 전이촉진적 교육방법과 전이동기의 관계를 조절했으나 교육내용의 업무연계성과 전이동기의 관계는 조절하지 않았다. 넷째, 교육훈련특성, 전이동기, 학습전이의 관계에서 업무성과-보상 기대의 조절된 매개효과는 나타나지 않았다. 연구결과를 토대로 인적자원개발 관점에서 학습전이를 높이기 위한 실천 및 연구 측면의 시사점을 제공하였다. The purpose of the current study was to identify the role of performance-outcome expectation on the relationships among training characteristics (transfer design, content validity), motivation to transfer, and learning transfer. Using the purposive sampling approach, we collected quantitative data via an electronic survey from 610 employees of H conglomerate in South Korea who had completed a training program at least 3 months before the data collection. We utilized SPSS PROCESS MACRO to analyze the hypothesized mediated moderation effects in our research model. As a result, we found the followings: (1) transfer design and content validity had positive relationships with motivation to transfer, respectively; (2) motivation to transfer had a positive relationship with learning transfer; (3) performance-outcome expectation moderated the relationship between transfer design and motivation to transfer, but did not between content validity and motivation to transfer; and (4) there were no mediated moderation effects on the relationships among training characteristics, motivation to transfer, and learning transfer. Based on the results, we provided implications for HRD in the practice and research area to improve learning transfer in companies.

        A New Record of Cymatium encausticum (Ranellidae: Tonnoidea: Gastropoda) from Korea

        The Cymatium Roding, 1798 is a small- to large-sized marine gastropod genus. Three species has been reported thus far for Cymatium in the Korean waters. In general, Cymatium encausticum (Reeve, 1844) is known to occur in tropical seawaters including the Philippine Islands along with its congeners C. gutturnium, C. springsteeni, and C. exile. A single individual of the species was collected from Jejudo Island by SCUBA diving and morphological features were observed using a stereomicroscope. This is the first study to report the occurrence of Cymatium encausticum (Reeve, 1844) from the Korean waters, providing a detailed description of the species with the illustration for the shell morphology.

        Rapid-to-deploy reconfigurable wireless structural monitoring systems using extended-range

        Wireless structural monitoring systems consist of networks of wireless sensors installed to record the loading environment and corresponding response of large-scale civil structures. Wireless monitoring systems are desirable because they eliminate the need for costly and labor intensive installation of coaxial wiring in a structure. However, another advantageous characteristic of wireless sensors is their installation modularity. For example, wireless sensors can be easily and rapidly removed and reinstalled in new locations on a structure if the need arises. In this study, the reconfiguration of a rapid-to-deploy wireless structural monitoring system is proposed for monitoring short- and medium-span highway bridges. Narada wireless sensor nodes using power amplified radios are adopted to achieve long communication ranges. A network of twenty Narada wireless sensors is installed on the Yeondae Bridge (Korea) to measure the global response of the bridge to controlled truck loadings. To attain acceleration measurements in a large number of locations on the bridge, the wireless monitoring system is installed three times, with each installation concentrating sensors in one localized area of the bridge. Analysis of measurement data after installation of the three monitoring system configurations leads to reliable estimation of the bridge modal properties, including mode shapes.

        Oxidation Behavior of (W, Re)-Bearing Single Crystal Nickel-Base Superalloys

        Four kinds of single-crystal Ni-base superalloys (12Ta–7.5Cr–5Co–4.8Al–1.9Mo–1Ti, balance Ni in wt%) containing (0–3)wt%W and (1–4) wt%Re were cast, and oxidized at 1000 °C for up to 275 h in air. In the as-cast condition, the microsegregations of (Cr, Co, Mo, W, Re) in the dendrites and (Al, Ti, Ta) in the interdendritic regions were observed. The γ/γ′ eutecticphases formed in the interdendritic regions. The oxidation rate of the cast alloys was comparable to that of the 2nd generation alloys, displaying relatively good oxidation resistance due primarily to the formation of stable alumina and chromia onthe surface. Especially, the alloy with 2 wt% W and 2 wt% Re showed the best oxidation resistance among the four alloys. Uniform oxidation occurred in the dendrite area, whereas nodular oxidation occurred in the interdendrite region.

        Arctiin is a pharmacological inhibitor of STAT3 phosphorylation at tyrosine 705 residue and potentiates bortezomib-induced apoptotic and anti-angiogenic effects in human multiple myeloma cells

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P><B>Background</B></P> <P>Arctiin is a main component from the fruits of <I>Arctium lappa L</I>., that can be prescribed for cold or flu in East Asian countries; it has also been found to exert chemopreventive actions against various tumor cells.</P> <P><B>Hypothesis</B></P> <P>In view of this evidence, we examined arctiin for its ability to trigger apoptosis and inhibit the activation of signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) in human multiple myeloma (MM) cells.</P> <P><B>Methods</B></P> <P>We evaluated the effect of arctiin on STAT3 signaling cascades and its regulated functional responses in MM cells.</P> <P><B>Results</B></P> <P>Arctiin effectively blocked the constitutive activation of STAT3 phosphorylation in the residue of tyrosine 705. Arctiin also abrogated the constitutive activation of Src phosphorylation and Janus-activated kinases (JAKs) 1/2. Furthermore, it was found that arctiin treatment clearly enhanced the mRNA and protein levels of protein tyrosine phosphatase ε (PTPε), and the silencing of PTPε caused a reversal of the arctiin-induced PTPε expression and the blockadge of STAT3 phosphorylation. Interestingly, arctiin could not repress IL-6-induced STAT3 activation in serum-starved U266 cells and when arctiin was incubated with a complete culture medium in RPMI 8226 and MM.1S cells. Arctiin suppressed cell proliferation, accumulated cells in the G2/M cell-cycle phase, and induced apoptosis within U266 cells, although the knockdown of PTPε prevented PARP cleavage and caspase-3 activation induced by the arctiin. In addition, arctiin exerted cytotoxicity in MM cells, but did not do so in peripheral blood mononuclear cells. Arctiin down-modulated diverse oncogenic gene products regulated by STAT3, although the induction of apoptosis by arctiin was abrogated upon transfection with pMXs-STAT3C in mouse embryonic fibroblast (MEF) cells. Arctiin also potentiated bortezomib-induced antitumor effects in U266 cells.</P> <P><B>Conclusion</B></P> <P>On the whole, our results indicate that arctiin is a potentially new inhibitor of constitutive STAT3 activation through the induction of PTPε in MM, cells and therefore has great value in treating various tumors sheltering constitutively activated STAT3.</P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

        Morphological Description of a Newly Recorded Strombus luhuanus(Strombidae: Gastropoda) from Korea

        The Strombus Linne, 1758 is a genus of marine mollusks belonging to the class Gastropoda, and is distributed in the tropical waters of the world. Typically, the family Strombidae includes five extant genera (Strombus, Lambis, Terebellum, Tibia, and Rimella), all of which are mostly found in tropical waters. Five individuals of Strombus luhuanus Linne, 1758 were collected from Uljin, Gyeongsangbuk-do province for the first time. In this study, we describe details of shell morphology and radula characters of the species with scanning electron microscopy images of the radula. This is a new record of Strombus luhuanus Linne, 1758 from Korean waters.

        UAV-Aided Secure Communications With Cooperative Jamming

        <P>This paper investigates unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) enabled secure communication systems where a mobile UAV wishes to send confidential messages to multiple ground users. To improve the security performance, a cooperative UAV is additionally considered that transmits the jamming signal. In this system, we maximize the minimum secrecy rate among the ground users by jointly optimizing the trajectory and the transmit power of the UAVs as well as the user scheduling. To efficiently solve this nonconvex problem, we adopt block successive upper bound minimization techniques, which address a sequence of approximated convex problems for each block of variables. Numerical results verify that the proposed algorithm outperforms baseline methods.</P>

        <i>Platycarya strobilacea</i> leaf extract inhibits tumor necrosis factor-α production and bone loss induced by <i>Porphyromonas gingivalis</i>-derived lipopolysaccharide

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P><B>Objective</B></P> <P>Remodeling of alveolar bone is controlled by osteoclast-mediated bone resorption and osteoblast-induced bone formation. LPS of <I>Porphyromonas gingivalis</I>, a major causative agent of periodontitis, produces proinflammatory cytokines in host immune cells, which thereby triggers osteoclastogenesis and leads to alveolar bone resorption. We investigated the anti-periodontitis potential of <I>Platycarya strobilacea</I> leaf extract (PLE), which is used as a traditional medicine in Asian countries.</P> <P><B>Design</B></P> <P>TNF-α levels in cell culture media were measured using a commercially available enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kit. Osteoclast differentiation was observed by tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase staining, and the expression levels of osteoclastogenic genes were measured by quantitative real-time PCR. Bone-resorbing activity was confirmed by the resorption pit formation, gelatin zymographic, and the cathepsin K activity assays. Osteogenic differentiation was confirmed with an ALP activity assay and alizarin red S staining.</P> <P><B>Results</B></P> <P>PLE treatment inhibited the production of TNF-α in <I>P. gingivalis</I> LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 macrophages. In bone marrow-derived macrophages serving as osteoclast precursors, PLE treatment blocked RANKL-induced osteoclastogenesis and gene expression levels of the osteoclastogenic transcription factor NFATc1, DC-STAMP for osteoclast fusion, and cathepsin K for osteoclast activity. In addition, PLE treatment reduced the formation of resorption pits and the secretion of MMP 9 and cathepsin K from the differentiated osteoclasts. Furthermore, PLE treatment induced osteogenesis by increasing ALP activity and calcium content in preosteoblastic cells.</P> <P><B>Conclusion</B></P> <P>PLE inhibits <I>P. gingivalis</I> LPS-induced TNF-α production and bone resorption and induces bone formation.
