      • 포항 석병연안에서 삼중자망에 의해 채집된 어류의 종조성 및 양적변동

        경상북도 포항시 석병 연안에서 삼중자망 5폭을 사용, 1998년 1월부터 12월까지 총 12회에 걸쳐 어류를 포획하여, 어류의 종조성 및 양적변동을 조사하였다. 포획된 어류는 총 1網 7目 27科 58種, 607개체, 93,427g으로 쏨뱅이 目(Scorpaeniformes)과 쏨뱅이 目(Scorpaeniformes) 어류가 총 41種으로 전체 출현종 수의 70.7%를 차지하여 우점하는 분류군이었으며, 科별로는 양볼락 科(Scorpaenidae) 어류가 8種 출현하여, 가장 많은 種이 출현하였다. 개체수에서 우점종은 망상어, 노래미, 쥐노래미, 용치놀래기, 쥐치, 볼락, 개볼락, 멸치 및 임연수어로 이들 9種이 전개체수의 62.9%를 차지하였다. 생체량에서 우점종은 망상어, 쥐노래미, 임연수어, 노래미, 볼락 및 용치놀래기로 이들 6種이 전생체량의 58.4%를 차지하였다. 출현 개체수와 생체량은 수온이 상승하는 4월과, 고수온기인 7월 및 10월에 높게 나타났으며, 저수온기인 1월에는 낮게 나타나, 수온과 밀접한 관계가 있었다. 월별 출현종수는 수온이 낮은 1월에 10種이 출현하여 가장 적었고, 수온의 상승폭이 큰 5월에 24種으로 가장 많았다. 종 다양도지수는 1.640~2.594의 범위로 경월변화가 적고, 인근 해역에 비해서 높은 지수를 나타내고 있어, 다양한 어종과 안정된 군집구조를 형성하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 조사해역에서 연 중 출현한 어종은 망상어, 노래미, 쥐노래미, 볼락 등이며, 체형이 크고 성장도가 양호할 뿐만 아니라 주거종으로서 경제성있는 어종으로 평가된다. Fishes were collected by trammel net to determine seasonal species composition and biomass in coastal waters of Seokbyeong, Pohang, Gyeongsangbuk-do from January to December, 1998. A total of 607 fishes(93,427g) was sampled and classified into 58 species belonging to 27 families and 7 orders. The most dominant orders were Scorpaeniformes and Perciformes, which together accounted for 70.7% of the total. The most dominant family Scorpaenidae was represented by eight species. The dominant species were Ditrema temmincki, Hexagrammos agrammus, H. otakii, Halichoeres poecilopterus, Stephanolepis cirrhifer, Sebastes inermis, Sebastes pachycephalus, Engraulis japonicus and Pleurogrammus azonus; they accounted for 62.9% of the total fishes collected. The dominant species in biomass were Ditrema temmincki, Hexagrammos agrammus, H. otakii, Halichoeres poecilopterus, Sebastes inermis and Pleurogrammus azonus. Those species accounted for 58.4% of the total biomass. The number of individuals and the biomass were much higher in summer and autumn than in winter and spring, and closely correlated with water temperature. Monthly number of species was highest in May, with 24 species and lowest in January, with 10 species. The highest diversity index was in June(H'=2.594), and lowest in January(H'=1.640). The diversity index was 1.640~2.594, with little monthly fluctuation. The diversity index in coastal waters of Seokbyeong was higher than that in other coastal waters. It suggest that the cluster structure may be stable.

        만성정신병환자의 재활치료를 위한 주간보호 모델

        목 적 : 본 연구는 전문병원 위탁형 정신보건센터에서 실시한 주간보호의 전체적인 체계, 운영, 프로그램에 관한 모델을 소개하고, 이 모델을 주간보호에서 시행한 후 그 결과와 시행과정에서 나타난 특징을 분석하여, 우리 실정에 맞는 주간보호 모델을 발전시켜 만성정신병환자의 생활유지와 재활을 촉진시키기 위한 목적으로 실시되었다. 방 법 : 본 주간보호 모델(이하 본 모델이라 함)을 1997년 3월부터 1998년 2월까지 의왕시 정신보건센터에서 총 23명의 환자를 대상으로 실시하였다. PANSS, Quality of Life, 삶의 만족 척도를 주간보호 전과 주간보호 실시 3개월 이후에 조사하였다. 프로그램 유익성 척도, 13가지 치료요인 척도를 주간보호 1개월째와 주간보호 실시 3개월 이후에 조사하였다. 결 과 : 1) 본 모델은 만성정신병환자의 증상을 감소시키고 삶의 질을 향상시켜, 환자의 생활유지 및 재활에 도움을 주었다. 2) 본 모델은 다양한 형태의 집단치료들을 사용하여 만성정신병환자에게 유익을 주었으며, 특히 예술치료와 활동치료가 환자의 신체적, 심리적, 사회적 기능회복을 위해 중요한 역할을 하였다. 3) 본 모델에 작용하는 치료요인의 특징을 보면 주간보호 초기와 후기에 모두 중시된 치료요인은 치료자와의 동일시, 치료자의 조언, 일차가족집단의 교정적 감정경험이었다. 주간보호 초기에 중시된 치료요인은 집단응집력, 이타심이었으며, 주간보호 후기에는 희망의 고취가 중시되었다. 4) 본 모델은 여러 분야의 치료자들과 다양한 치료방법들을 전체적으로 통합하여 사용하는데 유용하였다. 결 론 : 본 모델은 만성정신병환자의 생활유지와 재활을 위해 우리 나라에서 효과적이면서 효율적으로 적용될 수 있을 것으로 생각된다. Objectives : The purpose of this study was to present general system, operation, and program of a day care model managed by a psychiatrist, to evaluate the results of performing this model, and thus to develop a day care model applied to Korean situation appropriately for promoting maintenance and rehabilitation of chronic psychotic patients. Methods : We performed this day care model(hereinafter called as this model) from March 1997 to February 1998. The subjects were composed of 23 psychotic patients. PANSS, Quality of Life Scale, Life Satisfaction Self-Rating Scale were used before beginning this model and after three months of performing this model. Program Helpfulness Scale, 13 Therapeutic Factors Scale were used at one months of day care and after three months of day care. Results : 1) This model helped maintenance and rehabilitation of chronic psychotic patients through reducing their symptoms and increasing quality of life. 2) This model used the various group therapy, especially creative art therapy and activity therapy, played an important role for recovering physical, psychological, and social functions. 3) Important therapeutic factors at early and late period of this model were identification with therapists, guidance of therapists, and the corrective recapitulation of the primary family group. Important therapeutic factors at early period were group cohesiveness and altruism, and at late period instillation of hope. 4) This model was useful for integrating the multidisciplinary therapeutic team and the various therapeutic methods. Conclusion : This model would be applied to day care in this country effectively and efficiently for maintenance and rehabilitation of chronic psychotic patients.

      • A New Wheat Variety, “Jojoong” with Pre-harvest Sprouting Resistance, Early Maturity, High Yield and Good Noodle Quality

        “Jojoong”, a winter wheat(Triticum aestivum L.) cultivar was developed by the National Institute of Crop Science, RDA. It was derived from the cross “Suwon272/Olgeuru//Keumkang/Suwon252” during 2002. “Jojoong” was evaluated as “Iksan360” in advance yield trial test in 2011. It was tested in the regional yield trial test between 2012 and 2014. “Jojoong” is an awned, semi-dwarf and hard winter wheat, similar to “Keumkang” (check cultivar). The heading and maturing date of “Jojoong” were earlier to “Keumkang”. “Jojoong” had lower test weight (799 g/L) and 1,000-grain weigh (35.6g) than “Keumkang” (816 g/L and 45.5g, respectively). “Jojoong” showed resistance to winter hardiness and pre-harvest sprouting, which lower withering rate on the high ridge (10.5%) and rate of pre-harvest sprouting (10.5%) than “Keumkang” (31.7 and 21.4%, respectively). “Jojoong” showed similar protein content (12.5%), SDS-sedimentation volume (43.5ml) and gluten content (8.6%) to “Keumkang” (12.9%, 58.5ml and 8.5%, respectively). It showed higher lightness (93.17) in flour color than “Keumkang” (91.95, respectively). “Jojoong” showed higher lightness (81.50) of noodle dough sheet than “Keumkang” (80.95). “Jojoong” exhibited similar hardness (3.84N) and higher springiness and cohesiveness of cooked noodles (0.94 and 0.66) compared to “Keumkang” (3.88N, 0.90, and 0.62, respectively). Average yield of “Jojoong” in the regional adaptation yield trial test was 5.09 MT/ha in upland and 5.35 MT/ha in paddy field, which was 9% and 8% higher than those of “Keumkang” (4.67 MT/ha and 4.92 MT/ha, respectively).

        Mapping of QTL for Pre-Harvest Sprouting Resistance and Seed Dormancy in a Doubled Haploid Population

        Pre-harvest sprouting (PHS) of wheat reduces grain yield and has deleterious effects on wheat flour quality. PHS resistance is strongly associated with grain color and seed dormancy. Resistance to PHS is a priority of wheat breeding program. We have studied a population of 122 Doubled Haploid (DH) lines from the cross between two cultivars, ‘Keumkang’ and ‘Olgeuru’, in order to detect QTLs correlated with PHS resistance. PHS was evaluated using mist spray in the humid chamber (PHS-MS), and the germination index (GI) was determined for two years. The variety ‘Keumkang’ has white grains and higher percentage of PHS rate (30.2%), while ‘Olgeuru’ has red grains and lower PHS rate (2.8%). There was significant difference in grain color according to the GI. PHS-MS was positively correlated with GI (r = 0.732, P < 0.001). Two molecular markers, Xbarc12 and Xgwm3, were found correlated with PHS resistance and GI. These markers were mapped on chromosomes 3A and 3D with LOD scores of 4.95 and 4.02, respectively. Xbarc12 explained the highest amount of phenotypic variation (R2) which is 11.99% in GI and 27.25% in PHS. Xgwm3 explained 9.10% of phenotypic variation in GI. The respective value of PHS-MS and GI in Korean wheat cultivars ranged from 1.37% to 86.75% and from 0.03 to 0.73. This study provides useful information for marker-assisted wheat breeding for PHS resistance improvement in Korea.

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>Two new iridoids, 6‐<I>O</I>‐[(<I>E</I>)‐feruloyl]jioglutin D (<B>1</B>) and 6‐<I>O</I>‐(4‐hydroxybenzoyl)jioglutin D (<B>2</B>), and six known compounds, minecoside (<B>3</B>), specioside (<B>4</B>), picroside II (<B>5</B>), picroside III (<B>6</B>), 4‐hydroxybenzoic acid (<B>7</B>), and martynoside (<B>8</B>), were isolated from the stem of <I>Catalpa ovata.</I> The structures of the new compounds were established on the basis of spectroscopic techniques, including 1D‐ and 2D‐NMR.</P>

        Case Report : Colon Ischemia Associated with Buerger`s Disease and Review of the Literature

        Buerger`s disease, or thromboangiitis obliterans, is a nonatherosclerotic inflammatory disease affecting the small- and medium-sized arteries and veins of the extremities (arms, hands, legs, and feet). It is most common in the Orient, Southeast Asia, India, and the Middle East, and usually affects men aged between 20 and 40 years, although it is becoming more common in women. It is well established that most such patients smoke heavily and experience an improvement in symptoms following smoking cessation. Mesenteric involvement in Buerger`s disease is extremely rare; however, we describe herein two cases of colon ischemia in patients who were previously diagnosed with lower-extremity Buerger`s disease. In one case, the patient developed colonic obstruction, and surgical resection was performed. Histopathologic findings were compatible with the chronic stage of Buerger`s disease. In the other case, angiography revealed abrupt occlusion of the inferior mesenteric artery with numerous collateral vessels, just like the corkscrew appearance found in the extremities. If patients with established Buerger`s disease of the extremities complain of gastrointestinal symptoms, early interventional diagnosis should be performed to prevent intestinal obstruction and gangrene.         Inhibitory Effects of Panaxatriol from Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer on Phosphoinositide Breakdown Induced by Thrombin in Platelets

        In this study, we have investigated the effect of panaxatriol (PT) on phosphoinositides (PIS) breakdown and Ca<SUP>2+</SUP>-elevation in thrombin-induced platelet aggregation. Thrombin (5U/ml), a potent platelet agonist which activates phospholipase Cβ via protease activated receptor (PAR), hydrolyzed PIS in platelet membrane. The phosphatidylinositol 4, 5-bisphosphate (PIP₂) was hydrolyzed after 10 sec of the thrombin-stimulation, and both the phosphatidylinositol 4-monophosphate (PIP) and phosphatidylinositol (PI) were brokendown after 30 sec of the thrombin-stimulation. However, PT inhibited the thrombin-stimulated hydrolysis of PIP₂, PIP, and PI. On the other hand, thrombin increased the level of phosphatidic acid (PA) which is phosphorylated from diacylglycerol (DG) generated by PIS-hydrolysis. However, PT inhibited the thrombin-increased PA level non-significantly. Thrombin increased cytosolic free Ca<SUP>2+</SUP>[Ca<SUP>2+</SUP>]i) up to 72% as compared with control (30.8±0.9 nM) in intact platelet. However, PT (100 ㎍/ml) inhibited the thrombin-elevated [Ca<SUP>2+</SUP>]i to 100%. These results suggest that PT may have a beneficial effect on platelet aggregation-mediated thrombotic disease by inhibiting thrombin-induced platelet aggregation via suppression of the [Ca<SUP>2+</SUP>]i level and PIS breakdown.

        한국형 출혈열 환자에서 동반된 간기능 장애가 그 예후에 미치는 영향

        The prognostic factors of Korean hemorrhagic fever are still not clarified. We evaluated the relationship between liver dysfunction on admission and mortality in 121 patients with Korean hemorrhagic fever admitted at the department of internal medicine, Severance hospital from May, 1g77 to May, 1985 and the following results were obtained. 1) Overall mortality rate in patients with Korean hemorrhagic fever was 10. 7%(13 of 121). 2) The expired patients showed much higher initial SGOT and SGPT level compared to those who survived. 3) Elevated SGOT level was more useful than SGPT level as a poor prognostic index. 4) The expired patients had lower serum albumin level and more prolonged prothrombin time than survived. 5) No differences were seen between two groups in the degree of acidosis, RUN and serum creatinine level. In conclusion, severe hepatic dysfunction should be considered as a poor prognostic index ia patients with Korean hemorrhagic fever.

        Mutation breeding for determinate, diseases, lodging resistance and high yield in sesame

        Fourteen sesame varieties have been released to farmer’s field since 1955 in Korea. Two varieties were bred by mutation breeding method out of the varieties, and X-ray 20 Krad-irradiated “Ahnsankkae” was developed in 1984 and has been being major sesame variety in Korea. It is occupied 31% of total sesame area due to higher yield uniformity in different regions and diseases resistance. Suwonkkae” was newly developed in 1991 from a X-ray irradiated mutant crossed to Korean local variety and had superior quality with higher essential amino acids and linoleic(Vitamin F) fatty acid content. Mutant 2,625 pedigree lines and 89,200 mutants of all generations were planted to the experimental field of Crop Experiment Station to screen and investigate diseases resistance, yielding ability and the other usable characteristics from 1989 to 1992 for sesame mutation breeding programme in Korea. 1, 540-mutant lines and 2,137g of M1 seeds were selected among all the released mutant lines and plants of all the generations from 1989 to 1992. Sodium azide(NaN3)-treated dwarf mutant “Suwon 128” had been promising due to it’s unique shape of dwarf with strong lodging resistance and higher yield possibility when planted densely. However, it was deleted from presenting recommending varieties in 1992 by the reason of weakness to phytophthora blight specially at the full maturing stage of harvesting time during the 3 years regional yield trials(RYT) in spite of similar yield performance compared to the recommended varieties. The only one determinate gene in the world “dt 45” irradiated 50 Krad γ-ray by Dr. A. Ashri has been promising gene in Korea for higher maturity rate and synchronization of flowering period to improve longer flowering period(40-50 days) of the indeterminate varieties. “dt 45” was beginning to be introduced to cross breeding programme from 1985, and “Suwon 129” was bred from the cross between “dt 45” and “Danbaeckkae”, and was released to regional yield trial from 1990 for the first time as a determinate type line in Korea. Determinate lines Suwon 131, 133, 134, and 135 were continuously released to regional yield trial following after Suwon 129, but almost all the lines of determinate showed lesser yield performance due to their few capsule setting nodes(3-5) on the stem than recommended indeterminate varieties in spite of their strong resistance to diseases and lodging and higher maturity rate. 5,015 lines(57%) and 1,229(58%) cross combinations of mutants and mutant crosses among 8,751 lines and 2,122 cross combinations of whole cross breeding pedigree nurseries have been planted and evaluated since 1989. 1,266 lines(60%) and 276(54%) cross combinations of mutants and mutant crosses among 2,096 lines and 509 cross combinations of whole yield performance trials(OYT, PYT, AYT and RYT) have been relaeased since 1989 in Korea. Consequently dwarf mutant “Suwon 128” and determinate varieties have been composed of one hundred percent in the crossing block in 1992. Determinate, semi-dwarf, diseases and lodging resistant, larger seed size, few and non branches along with higher maturity rate and yield have been illustrated as Ideal Plant Type of sesame breeding target in Korea. “SI 90033-2B” (Suwon 129//Suwon 9/IS 103) mutant which was found in F₂ pedigree nursery in 1992 showed strong resistance to diseases and lodging, plenty of capsule-setting nodes with longer capsule bearing position, lots of capsules and higher maturity rate compared to those of indeterminate and of other determinate mutants in Korea. It has been evaluated to overcome yield problem of determinates due to idealistic growth and yield components. “SI 90033-2B” has been believed to be the mutant line for creating Ideal Plant Type in sesame.
