        경관형용사 분석법을 활용한 국립공원 마을 유형별 경관 선호도에 관한 연구

        본 연구의 목적은 경관형용사 분석법을 활용하여 국립공원 내에 있는 마을의 유형별로 경관 선호도에 영향을 주는 경관 이미지를 규명하고자 하였다. 분석 결과, 경관 선호도에 영향을 주는 경관 요인은 마을 유형별로 차이가 있으며, 마을 경관 디자인 가이드라인 수립 시 고려해야할 경관 이미지는 아래와 같다. 첫째, 농촌형 마을의 전원성에만 국한된 형용사는 ‘자연스러운’, ‘풍요로운’, ‘전통적인’, ‘정적인’으로 산촌형 및 어촌형 마을보다는 가장 일반적이고 전통적인 이미지의 고정관념을 지니고 있다고 볼 수 있다. 둘째, 어촌형 마을의 전원성 중 가장 큰 차이를 보이는 부분은 어촌형 마을에만 도출된 형용사 ‘자유로운’이다. 셋째, 산촌형 마을의 형용사적 차이를 보이는 항목은 일반적으로 산의 특성을 반영하는 ‘울창한’, ‘깊은’ 두 단어이다. 도출된 결과를 바탕으로 국립공원 내 존치되어 있는 마을의 정주여건 개선과 공원자원으로서 활용성 제고하고, 공원 내 주민의 삶의 질 향상과 공원 내 마을 이미지를 개선하는데 활용할 수 있을 것이다. The purpose of this study was to identify landscape images that affect landscape preferences by type of village in the national park by using the landscape adjective analysis. As a result of the analysis, the landscape factors that affect landscape preferences vary by village type, and the landscape image to consider when establishing the village landscape design guidelines is as follows. First, adjectives limited to the rural village’s rural originality are ‘natural’, ‘rich’, ‘traditional’ and ‘static’, which have the most common and traditional image stereotypes rather than mountain and seaside villages. Second, the biggest difference among the rural characteristics of seaside villages is the adjective‘free’derived only from this village. Third, the two words that generally reflect the characteristics of the mountain village are ‘dense’ and ‘deep’. Based on the results, it will be able to improve the residential conditions of villages in the national park and improve their utilization as park resources, the quality of life in the park, and the village image in the park.

        Porphyry Molybdenum Deposits : A Literature Review

        본논문은 다음과 같은 사실에 대하여 문헌적으로 검토해본 것이다. (1) 함동 반암계와 함몰리브덴 반암계의 상호관계 ; (2)몰리브데나이트 침전의 열수환경 ; (3)몰리브데나이트의 다형의 성인적 중요성 ; (4) 탐사지시자로서 유용한 몰리브데나이트 내의 미량원소의 양상. 함몰리브덴 반암계 (예 : Climax)와 함동반암계 (예 : Blingham) 사이에는 지질학적인 유사성이 있으며, 두 유형의 광상탐사에도 비슷한 기술이 적용된다. 몇가지 특징은 중석과 주석도 반암계와 유사한 시스템(즉, 저품위, 대량)으로 형성될 수 있음을 지시해 준다. 지구물리학적으로 뚜렷이 구별되는 지반지역에서의 일련의 반암계가 잘 설명되고 있으며, 이들은 예비탐사를 위한 중요한 목표지점이다. 지화학적 연구로 우라늄은 퇴적환경에서 뿐만 아니라 화성환경에서 종종 몰리브덴 광석과 밀접한 연관성을 가지고 산출된다는 것을 제시해 준다. This paper is a literature review on the following subjects: 1) relationships between porphyry molybdenum and copper systems; 2) hydrothermal environments of molybdenite depositions; 3) genetic significance of molybdenite polyforms; and 4) trace element patterns in molybdenite useful as an exploration guide. The geologic similarities between porphyry molybdenum (e. g. Climax) and porphyry copper(e. g. Bingham) systems exist, and similar techniques can be applied for exploring deposits of either type. Several features suggest that tungsten and tin may form porphyry-like-systems(i. e. low grade, large tonnage). The clustering of porphyry-like systems in geophysically distinctive batholithic provinces is well documented and provides larger targets for reconnaissance exploration. Geochemical studies suggest that uranium should often occur in close proximity to molybdenum ores in igneous as well as sedimentary environments.

        Electrically controllable twisted-coiled artificial muscle actuators using surface-modified polyester fibers

        <P>As a new class of thermally activated actuators based on polymeric fibers, we investigated polyethylene terephthalate (PET) yarns for the development of a twisted-coiled polymer fiber actuator (TCA). The PET yarn TCA exhibited the maximum linear actuation up to 8.9% by external heating at above the glass transition temperature, 160 °C–180 °C. The payload of the actuator was successfully correlated with the preload and training-load conditions by an empirical equation. Furthermore, the PET-based TCA was electrically driven by Joule heating after the PET surface was metallization with silver. For the fast and precise control of PET yarn TCA, electroless silver plating was conducted to form electrical conductive layers on the PET fiber surface. The silver plated PET-based TCA was tested by Joule heating and the tensile actuation was increased up to 12.1% (6 V) due to the enhanced surface hardness and slippage of PET fibers. Overall, silver plating of the polymeric yarn provided a fast actuation speed and enhanced actuation performance of the TCA actuator by Joule heating, providing a great potential for being used in artificial muscle for biomimetic machines including robots, industrial actuators and powered exoskeletons.</P>

      • Copper oxide nanoparticles aggravate airway inflammation and mucus production in asthmatic mice via MAPK signaling

        <P>Copper oxide nanoparticles (CuONPs), metal oxide nanoparticles were used in multiple applications including wood preservation, antimicrobial textiles, catalysts for carbon monoxide oxidation and heat transfer fluid in machines. We investigated the effects of CuONPs on the respiratory system in Balb/c mice. In addition, to investigate the effects of CuONPs on asthma development, we used a murine model of ovalbumin (OVA)-induced asthma. CuONPs markedly increased airway hyper-responsiveness (AHR), inflammatory cell counts, proinflammatory cytokines and reactive oxygen species (ROS). CuONPs induced airway inflammation and mucus secretion with increases in phosphorylation of the MAPKs (Erk, JNK and p38). In the OVA-induced asthma model, CuONPs aggravated the increased AHR, inflammatory cell count, proinflammatory cytokines, ROS and immunoglobulin E induced by OVA exposure. In addition, CuONPs markedly increased inflammatory cell infiltration into the lung and mucus secretions, and MAPK phosphorylation was elevated compared to OVA-induced asthmatic mice. Taken together, CuONPs exhibited toxicity on the respiratory system, which was associated with the MAPK phosphorylation. In addition, CuONPs exposure aggravated the development of asthma. We conclude that CuONPs exposure has a potential toxicity in humans with respiratory disease.</P>

        Determination of Mode of Chitosanase Action by Matrix Associated Laser Desorption Ionization - Time of Flight Mass Spectrometry Analysis

        A detailed knowledge about the mode of enzyme action is critical to get better understanding the productivity of target molecules. The present study was then performed to elucidate the mode of enzyme action and hydrolysis pattern of chitosanase toward high molecular weight chitosan. Hydrolysates derived from the reaction condition were then analyzed by Matrix Associated Laser Desorption Ionization - Time of Flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) analysis to define the real size of hydrolysates. Also, the sequence of linking pattern of hydrolysates derived from the action of chitosanase was determined based on the identification of both glucosamine (GlcN) and N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc). The results demonstrate that both homogeneous and heterogeneous chitooligosaccharides, designated as active molecular chitosan (AMC) can be produced without such a big differences. According to these results, we suggest that GlcNAc may not be a terminator for enzymatic hydrolysis processing as a key molecule in chitosanase reaction to determine the length of AMC. Upon identifying the type of linkage and size of AMC, nevertheless, these can be used as potent materials in various research fields including cosmeceutical and pharmaceutical applications.

      • Mortality and Causes of death of patients with asthma

        Background: Asthma is a disease with a prevalence of more than 300 million people worldwide, with 420,000 asthma patients deaths in 2018. Asthma patients mortality rates continue to decline in Korea, but the second-highest among OECD countries. In the past study, the study mainly defined the definition of asthma based on clinical diagnosis such as history, not the spirometry-based diagnosis. Therefore, this study was conducted to define asthma based on appropriate diagnosis criteria and to compare the cause of death and mortality of asthma patients. Methods: We reviewed retrospectively patients who underwent bronchodilator response or Provocation test from January 1, 2005 to December 31, 2017, and finally 3397 patients were analyzed. Asthma was defined as a positive bronchodilator response or a provocation test at least once in the period, and the control group was defined as having both tests result in bronchodilator response & provocation test and each negative results in bronchodilator response and provocation test In the asthma group, the first day with a positive bronchodilator response or provocation test was defined as the index date. In the control group, the latter date which the bronchodilator response negative and the provocation test were negative once was defined as the index date.Results: In total, 1292 patients with asthma and 2105 control participants were included. Twenty-nine (1.3%) asthma patients and 31 control patients died during the mean 150.84 ± 1.45 months follow-up period. There was no significant difference. (Logrank test P=0.73) Cancer was the most common cause of death for both group (20 (64.5%) vs 18 (62.1%), and pneumonia was the following cause. Conclusions: There was no statistically significant differences in the survival and mortality of the normal control group in the analysis of asthma patients based on spirometry

        Trophic Molecules Derived From Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells Enhance Survival, Function, and Angiogenesis of Isolated Islets After Transplantation

        BACKGROUND.: Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), also known as multipotent progenitor cells, release several factors that support cell survival and enhance wound healing. We hypothesized that MSC-secreted molecules would induce a trophic effect in pancreatic islet culture conditions. METHODS.: Pancreatic islets were co-cultured with MSCs, and ADP/ATP ratios, glucose stimulated insulin secretion (GSIS), and DNA fragmentation were evaluated to measure islet quality and viability in vitro. The induction of signal molecules related to the control of survival, function, and angiogenesis was also analyzed. Cell quality assays, DNA fragmentation assays, and islet transplantation into streptozotocin-induced diabetic mice were performed using MSC-conditioned medium (CM)–cultured islets. Furthermore, we identified soluble molecules within MSC-CM. RESULTS.: Islets co-cultured with MSCs demonstrated lower ADP/ATP ratios, and higher GSIS indexes and viability. Furthermore, co-cultured islets revealed higher levels of anti-apoptotic signal molecules (X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis protein, Bcl-xL, Bcl-2, and heat shock protein-32) and demonstrated increased vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 and Tie-2 mRNA expression and increased levels of phosphorylated Tie-2 and focal adhesion kinase protein. Islets cultured in MSC-CM demonstrated lower ADP/ATP ratios, less apoptosis, and a higher GSIS indexes. Diabetic mice that received islet transplants (200 islet equivalent) cultured in MSC-CM for 48 hr demonstrated significantly lower blood glucose levels and enhanced blood vessel formation. In addition, interleukin-6, interleukin-8, vascular endothelial growth factor-A, hepatocyte growth factor, and transforming growth factor-&bgr; were detected at significant levels in MSC-CM. CONCLUSIONS.: These results suggest that the trophic factors secreted by human MSCs enhance islet survival and function after transplantation.
