        Experimental Study on Grouting Diffusion Law of the Different Crack Widths in Tunnel Lining

        Grouting technology is an important method that has been widely adopted for the crack repair of tunnel lining, but the diffusion law of grouting slurry is still uncertain in tunnel lining cracks. For the sake of exploring the grouting diffusion law of tunnel lining cracks, this paper investigated the grouting diffusion shape and the relation between the diffusion radius and time with different crack widths in tunnel lining which by means of laboratory experiments and statistical analysis. Meanwhile, the diffusion equation of grouting in lining cracks has been established on basis of the grouting diffusion shape and experimental data. Furthermore, it is analyzed the correlation between the experimental values and the calculated values. The results revealed that the diffusion shape can be divided into a circular zone, excessive zone, and elliptical zone in the tunnel lining cracks, and the calculated values of the equation of grouting diffusion are highly correlated with the experimental values. Additionally, it is shown that the diffusion equation can accurately describe the relationship between diffusion radius and time of grouting in tunnel lining cracks. The study results would provide a theoretical basis for the prediction of diffusion radius on grouting repair for tunnel lining cracks.

      • A Study on the Influence of Subjective Exercise Experience on Exercise Persistence of the Elderly

        PURPOSE: This paper explores the influence of subjective exercise experience on the persistence of exercise in the elderly in China, and helps to make decisions on how to further improve the persistence of the elderly group to participate in physical exercise. METHODS: The data is randomly collected from a sample of 100 elderly people engaged in physical exercise who were invited to participate in the interview and fill in questionnaires; and the data is processed and analyzed according to two scales, which are "Subjective Exercise Experience Scale" and "Exercise Adherence Scale" in various regions of Henan Province, China. RESULTS: The positive well-being dimensions in the subjective exercise experience of the elderly are positively correlated with the five dimensions of persistence, exercise interest, value judgment, cognitive choice and exercise effort in exercise persistence. There is a significant negative correlation between the psychological distress dimension and the persistence, exercise interest, value judgment, and cognitive choice dimensions in exercise persistence(p <0.01); fatigue dimension is significantly negative correlative with the persistence dimension (p < 0.05) of the exercise persistence; the subjective exercise experience of the elderly has a significant predictive power for their exercise persistence, but there are differences in the predictive power of the various dimensions of exercise persistence. CONCLUSIONS: Positive well-being can positively predict the five dimensions of exercise persistence; psychological distress can negatively predict persistence, exercise interest, value judgment and cognitive choice dimension in exercise persistence. Therefore, by improving positive well-being and reducing psychological annoyance, it can effectively improve the persistence of exercise for the elderly, and thus promote the healthy development of the elderly.

        Chloride diffusion in concrete associated with single, dual and multi cation types

        Currently, most of the investigations on chloride diffusion were based on the experiments and simulations concerning single cation type chlorides. Chloride diffusion associated with dual or multi cation types was rarely studied. In this paper, several groups of diffusion experiments are conducted using chloride solutions containing single, dual and multi cation types. A multi-ionic model is also proposed to simulate the chloride diffusion behavior in the experimental tests. The MATLAB software is used to numerically solve the nonlinear PDEs in the multi-ionic model. The experimental and simulated results show that the chloride diffusion behavior associated with different cation types is significantly different. When the single cation type chlorides are adopted, it is found that the bound rates of chloride ions combined with divalent cations are greater than those combined with monovalent cations. When the dual/multi cation type chlorides are adopted, the chloride bound rates increase with the Ca2+/Mg2+ percentage in the source solutions. This evidence indicates that the divalent cations would markedly enhance the chloride binding capacity and reduce the chloride diffusivity. Moreover, on the basis of the analysis, it is also found that the complicated cation types in source solutions are beneficial to reducing the chloride diffusivity.

        Preparation and Performance Study of COS/PEI@PolyI:C/OVA Nanocomposite Using the Blend System of Chitooligosaccharide and Polyethyleneimine as a Drug Carrier

        The blending system of chitooligosaccharide (COS) and polyethyleneimine (PEI) was studied as a drug carrier for tumor treatment. Nanoparticles COS/ PEI-PolyI:C-OVA-x (CP-P-O-x) (x=1, 2, 3) were prepared by electrostatic self-assembly of COS and PEI with the immune enhancing drug PolyI:C and the mimic antigen ovalbumin (OVA) using different feeding methods. The results showed that the nanoparticle solution could be stable only when the concentration of the added PEI was above 5.0% w/w. PolyI:C could be coated well and protected from nuclease degradation. The OVA encapsulation efficiency was above 75%. The results of cell viability experiments showed that the blend of COS and PEI had low cytotoxicity. The CP-P-O-1 had a suitable particle size, which was easy to be absorbed and expressed by cells. The results of in vitro immunization showed that due to the addition of PolyI:C, whether OVA was loaded on the inside or on the surface, nanoparticles significantly promoted the secretion of cytokines mouse tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α) and mouse interferon-γ (IFN-γ). The feeding method mainly had a greater impact on the morphology and size of the nanoparticles, and had little effect on solution stability, OVA encapsulation efficiency, binding ability with PolyI:C, resistance to nuclease degradation and immune performance. CP-P-O-x prepared by the blend system of COS and PEI will be a potential candidate for tumor treatment.

        A state-of-the-art review of self-healing stimuli-responsive microcapsules in cementitious materials

        Cracking is a recurring defect that typically arises during the construction and service periods of cementitiousmaterials. Self-healing based on stimuli-responsive microcapsules has shown to be a cutting-edgetechnology to make cementitious materials sustainable. Despite the reported implementation of microcapsulesin various fields, the strategies toward self-healing of cementitious materials via embeddingmicrocapsules remain a significant challenge. Given this, a review concentrating on the healing explorationof cementitious materials assisted by self-healing stimuli-responsive microcapsules is conductedto bridge the gap. Special attention is given to the encapsulation designs and preparation processes, followedby capsules’ response mechanisms and healing processes. In particular, application scenarios, challengesand future prospects of self-healing stimuli-responsive microcapsules for cementitious materialsare summarized and proposed in detail for the first time. This review attempts to better grasp the futureresearch direction of this field, which provides new perspectives for addressing the cracking issue ofcementitious materials.

        Human Intersectin 2 (ITSN2) binds to Eps8 protein and enhances its degradation

        Participates in actin remodeling through Rac and receptor endocytosis via Rab5. Here, we used yeast two-hybrid system with Eps8 as bait to screen a human brain cDNA library. ITSN2 was identified as the novel binding factor of Eps8. The interaction between ITSN2 and Eps8 was demonstrated by the in vivo co-immunoprecipitation and colocalization assays and the in vitro GST pull-down assays. Furthermore, we mapped the interaction domains to the region between amino acids 260-306 of Eps8 and the coiled-coil domain of ITSN2. In addition, protein stability assays and immunofluorescence analysis showed ITSN2 overexpression induced the degradation of Eps8 proteins, which was markedly alleviated with the lysosome inhibitor NH4Cl treatment. Taken together, our results suggested ITSN2 interacts with Eps8 and stimulates the degradation of Eps8 proteins. [BMB reports 2012; 45(3): 183-188]

        Synthesis of Chitosan-g-Poly(ethylene glycol)-g-Polyethyleneimine Copolymer and Its Research as Drug Carrier

        Tumors have emerged as the number one cause of death with the incidence rate rising rapidly due to various factors. Nanoparticle-mediated PolyI:C (PIC) delivery is a promising approach in the treatment of various tumors. However, the delivery of PIC to target cells is very difficult. Therefore, it is necessary to develop carriers which can safely deliver PIC to the target cells. In this study, chitosan-g-poly (ethylene glycol)-g-polyethyleneimine copolymer (CS-g-PEG-g-PEI) which delivers PIC as a carrier was synthesized by carbonyldiimidazole (CDI) coupling method using ionic liquid as the reaction medium. The results of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H NMR and 13C NMR), elemental analysis and gel permeation chromatography (GPC) showed that PEG and PEI were grafted onto CS successfully. The result of cytotoxicity assay indicated low levels of cytotoxicity in CS-g-PEG-g-PEI. The positively charged CS-g-PEG-g-PEI self-assembled with the negatively charged PIC to form composite nanoparticles whose physicochemical properties were studied. The results of stability experiments and subsequent gel electrophoresis indicated that the stability of nanoparticles solution was good with water as a solvent, CS-g-PEG-g- PEI as a carrier, the ratio of nitrogen/phosphorus (N/P) is 8, and the concentration of PIC as 0.5 mg/mL. CS-g-PEG-g-PEI could bind to PIC almost completely and effectively protect it from degradation of Rnase A at N/P=8, and the PIC encapsulation efficiency was over 87%. The results of morphological characterization showed that nano-sized self-assembled aggregates with core-shell structure could be prepared successfully. This provides a new carrier for long-circulation and research of solid tumor drug delivery system.

        모바일 웹 디자인의 소구유형이 모바일 뱅킹 이용의도에 미치는 영향

        미국과 영국 소비자들을 대상으로 한 연구결과에 따르면, 모바일 웹 불만족은 모바일 웹 디스플레이 및 레이아웃의 부실함 때문이라고 한다. 또한 모바일 웹 서비스에 대한 불만족 경험은 모바일 웹 서비스 이용을 지속적으로 꺼리게 한다. 이에 따라 모바일 웹 인터페이스의 효율적인 개발 및 체계화가 필요하다. 그리고 모바일 웹 디자인 개발에 있어서 사용자 중심적인 사고가 필요하다. 한편, 최근 들어 모바일 뱅킹의 성장상황을 고려할 때 모바일 뱅킹 서비스는 미래의 대고객 거래의 중요한 행태가 될 수 있다. 따라서 금융기관의 수익창출의 근원이 비록 아직까지는 대면 서비스이지만 향후에는 비대면 서비스로 전환될 것이다. 이런 관점에서 본 연구는 모바일 뱅킹 웹 디자인 개발할 때, 속성의 혁신성을 고려하여 디자인의 소구유형을 어떻게 해야 하는지에 대해서 조사하였다. 분석결과, 혁신성이 높을 때에는 이성적 소구 유형이 감성적 소구유형에 비해 사용자의 모바일 뱅킹의 이용의도를 더 증대시켰다. 그러나 혁신성이 낮은 때에는 감성적 소구유형이 더 긍정적인 것으로 나타났다. In result of the research through American and British subjects, dissatisfaction of mobile webs are caused by infirmity of web display and layout. This dissatisfaction may cause to be reluctant consistently to use mobile web services. So, it is needed to develop and to systematize the interface of mobile web efficiently. Also, it is needed to consider the customer-orientation of development for mobile web design. In consideration of growth of mobile banking, it may be important behavior of customer transaction. So, the origin of profit of financial institutions will change from face-to-face services toward non face-to-face. In this viewpoint, this study researched the appealing point of mobile web design. In result, the innovative design was fit with the rational appeal rather than the emotional appeal for customer intention of use. The less innovation design, however, was fit with the emotional appeal.
