      • Adaptive Time-varying Sliding Surface for Second-Order Variable Structure Control

        Zhiping Zhu,Kui Yuan,Huosheng Hu 제어로봇시스템학회 2009 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2009 No.8

This paper introduces an adaptive time-varying sliding surface for the second order variable structure controlsystem which can improve the robustness of the control system by shortening the reaching phase. A saturation functionis adopted to replace the conventional sign function in the controller to decrease the switching frequency of the sliding control action and thus to reduce the chattering of the system.

Anterior Transarticular Crossing Screw Fixation for Atlantoaxial Joint Instability: A Biomechanical Study

        Hang Xiao,Zhiping Huang,Panjie Xu,Junyu Lin,Qingan Zhu,Wei Ji 대한척추신경외과학회 2023 Neurospine Vol.20 No.3

Objective: To evaluate the biomechanical stability of anterior transarticular crossing screw (ATCS) and compare it with anterior transarticular screw (ATS) which may provide basic evidence for clinical application. Methods: Eight human fresh cadaveric specimens (occiput-C4) were tested with 5 conditions including the intact status, the injury status (type II odontoid fracture), the injury+ATS fixation status (traditional bilateral ATS fixation); the injury+unilateral ATCS fixation status; and the injury+bilateral ATCS fixation status. Specimens were applied to a pure moment of 1.5 Nm in flexion-extension, lateral bending, and axial rotation, respectively. The range of motions (ROMs) and the neutral zones (NZs) of C1 to C2 segment were calculated and compared between 5 status. Results: ATS and ATCS fixations significantly reduced the motions in all directions when compared with the intact and injury statues (p < 0.05). In flexion-extension, the ROMs of ATS, unilateral ATCS, and bilateral ATCS were 4.7° ± 2.5°, 4.1° ± 1.9°, and 3.2° ± 1.2°, respectively. Bilateral ATCS resulted in a significant decrease in ROM in flexion-extension when compared with ATS and unilateral ATCS (p = 0.035 and p = 0.023). In lateral bending and axial rotation, there was no significant difference in ROM between the 3 fixations (p > 0.05). Three fixations resulted in similar NZs in all directions (p > 0.05). Conclusion: ATCS is a biomechanically effective alternative or supplemental method for atlantoaxial instability

Polyglycerol modified polysiloxane surfactants: Their adsorption and aggregation behavior in aqueous solution

        Guoyong Wang,Yanyan Zhu,Yunhui Zhai,Wanxu Wang,Zhiping Du,Jieqiong Qin 한국공업화학회 2017 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.47 No.-

A simple process to synthesize polyglycerol modified polysiloxane surfactants has been carried outapplying a “grafting-to” approach. After formation of allyl polyglycerol ether (APGE) from diglycerol(DGY) and allyl glycidyl ether (AGE), polysiloxane modified by designed number of polyglycerol groups(PHMS-APGE) were obtained by connecting the APGE structure to different Si H functionalizedpolyhydromethyl siloxane (PHMS). The synthesized APGE-PHMS were characterized by IR and 1H NMR. Solubility measurements showed that the solubility of the as-prepared polymers increased in polarsolvents with the increasing of the amount of hydrophilic APGE groups. Furthermore, the surface activity, surface adsorption, aggregation and spreading behaviors of APGE-PHMS were investigated utilizingsurface tension measurements, dynamic light scattering (DLS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM)and contact angle measurements. The results showed that critical aggregation concentration (CAC) andthe time needed to reach adsorption equilibrium on water surface decrease systematically with theincrease in the number of APGE groups. These polymers in aqueous solutions could aggregate to formspherical assemblies. Moreover, the spreading behavior of these polymers on low energy surface wasfound to be influenced by the number of hydrophilic APGE groups.

Fabrication of a Thermoregulating Cotton Fabric with Enhanced Flame Retardancy via Layer-by-layer Assembly

        Yunbo Chen,Xiangyu Zhu,Luying Chen,Bijia Wang,ZhiPing Mao,Xueling Feng,Xiaofeng Sui,Hong Xu 한국섬유공학회 2022 Fibers and polymers Vol.23 No.9

The lack of thermoregulating functionality and high flammability for cotton fabrics greatly restricts theirapplication in high-performance fields. Herein, we report a versatile layer-by-layer (LBL) assembly strategy for introducing amultilayered film consisting of phase change microcapsules and ammonium polyphosphate to cotton fabric, endowing cottonwith thermoregulation and flame retardant properties. The coated fabrics were characterized based on scanning electronmicroscopy (SEM), water-vapor transmission rate (WVT), thermogravimetry (TG), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC),limiting oxygen index (LOI) and infrared thermal imaging. A fabric deposited with 20 bilayers (MCPM/APP-20) shows anappropriate WVT (50.57 g/m2·h) and improved flame retardancy with an LOI of 24.5 % and residual carbon of 34.53 %. Italso shows a melting enthalpy of 30.09 J/g, which results in a temperature difference of 6.4 °C compared with pristine cotton. The functional properties endowed by the LBL assembly are found to be reasonably durable, with the melting enthalpy andresidual carbon of MPCM/APP-20 reduced to 17.69 J/g and 19.64 %, respectively, after 30 laundering cycles. This studyprovides a convenient way to develop multifunctional cotton fabrics that can be good candidates for high-performancetextiles.

Polysaccharides from the Fleshy Fruits of Camellia oleifera Attenuate the Kidney Injury in High-Fat Diet/Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetic Mice

        Jialin Li,Fuhua Xie,Xiuzhi Zhu,Haibo Hu,Xiansong Fang,Zhiwei Huang,Zhiping Liu,Suzhen Wu 한국식품영양과학회 2020 Journal of medicinal food Vol.23 No.12

The fleshy fruits of Camellia oleifera Abel are the immature fruits of C. oleifera, which are infected by Exobasidium vexans Massee and then turn to be intumescent and hollowed. They contain rich trace elements and vitamin C and are eaten directly as wild fruits in the Chinese countryside. Recent studies report that C. oleifera has anti-inflammatory and antioxidative effects. The current study, for the first time, evaluates the renal protective capacity of polysaccharides from the fleshy fruits of C. oleifera (CFFP) in streptozotocin-induced diabetic mice fed high-fat diets. The diabetic mice were orally administered CFFP for 3 months to evaluate the renoprotective function of CFFP. Our results indicated that 250 mg/kg CFFP significantly alleviated diabetes-induced renal injury by decreasing serum creatine, blood urea nitrogen levels, the kidney/body weight ratio, expression of fibronectin and collagen, as well as the secretion of tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-6. Additionally, 250 mg/kg CFFP could significantly ameliorate renal oxidative stress through increasing glutathione levels and lowering malondialdehyde contents. We confirmed that CFFP could exert antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, and antifibrosis activities. CFFP might be a potential therapeutic agent, and the fleshy fruits of C. oleifera might be a diet therapy for diabetic patients in the future.
