        Wind-induced response of open type hyperbolic-parabolic membrane structures

        In this paper, the mechanical characteristics of the open type hyperbolic-parabolic membrane structure under wind load were investigated. First, the numerical simulation of a typical plane membrane structure was performed based on the Large-Eddy Simulation method. The accuracy of the simulation method was validated by the corresponding wind tunnel test results. Then, the wind load shape coefficients of open type hyperbolic-parabolic membrane structures are obtained from the series of numerical calculations and compared with the recommended values in the “Technical Specification for Membrane Structures (CECS 158: 2015). Finally, the influences of the wind directions and wind speeds on the mean wind pressure distribution of open type hyperbolic-parabolic membrane structures were investigated. This study aims to gain a better understanding of the wind-induced response for this type of structure and be useful to engineers and researchers.

        A New Traffic Congestion Detection and Quantification Method Based on Comprehensive Fuzzy Assessment in VANET

        Recently, road traffic congestion is becoming a serious urban phenomenon, leading to massive adverse impacts on the ecology and economy. Therefore, solving this problem has drawn public attention throughout the world. One new promising solution is to take full advantage of vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs). In this study, we propose a new traffic congestion detection and quantification method based on vehicle clustering and fuzzy assessment in VANET environment. To enhance real-time performance, this method collects traffic information by vehicle clustering. The average speed, road density, and average stop delay are selected as the characteristic parameters for traffic state identification. We use a comprehensive fuzzy assessment based on the three indicators to determine the road congestion condition. Simulation results show that the proposed method can precisely reflect the road condition and is more accurate and stable compared to existing algorithms.

        Unified coordinated control strategy for two parallel inverters TPOW‑PMSM system

        The three-phase open-winding permanent magnet synchronous motor (TPOW-PMSM) is generally used to drive electric vehicles. The voltage vector spatial distribution and fault-tolerant topological structure of a TPOW-PMSM system with two parallel inverters are analyzed in this paper. Then, based on the unified PWM modulation algorithm, a unified coordinated control strategy based on reference voltage vector 120º decoupling control is proposed. The speed and current double closedloop control systems of two parallel inverters are designed, and a PI + repetitive controller of the speed loop is designed to realize fast and stable speed control. The realization process does not require sector judgment or table lookup calculations, and the switching time of each bridge arm switch tube is determined by the instantaneous value of the three-phase voltage of the two parallel inverters, which simplifies the control algorithm. Experimental results show that the unified coordinated control strategy with the PI + repetitive controller can control the normal operation of a TPOW-PMSM, and realize smooth and reliable transitions from the normal operation state to the fault-tolerant operation state. The proposed unified coordinated control strategy with the PI + repetitive controller effectively suppresses the instantaneous value of system zero-sequence current, and inhibits the influence of the dead zone effect.

        Isolation and Characterization of a Gene Encoding Hexokinase from Loquat (Eriobotrya japonica Lindl.)

        Hexokinase is the first enzyme in the hexose assimilation pathway; it acts as a sensor for plant sugar responses, and it is also important in determining the fruit sugar levels. The full-length cDNA of a hexokinase gene was isolated from loquat through reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and rapid amplification of cDNA ends, which was designated as EjHXK1. EjHXK1 is 1,839 bp long and contains an entire open reading frame encoding 497 amino acids. The predicted protein of EjHXK1 shares 72%-81% similarity with other plant hexokinases. Phylogeny analysis indicated that EjHXK1 is closely related to maize and rice hexokinases. Transient expression of the 35S: EjHXK1-GFP fusion protein was observed on the cell membrane and cytoplasm. Real-time RT-PCR indicated that EjHXK1 is expressed in loquat leaves, stems, flowers, and fruits. EjHXK1 transcripts were higher during early fruit development, but decreases before maturation, which is consistent with hexokinase enzyme activity during fruit development and conducive for hexose accumulation in mature fruits. These results imply that EjHXK1 may play important roles in the regulation of sugar flux during fruit ripening.

        With China’s opening to the world and the deepening of worldexchanges and cooperation, foreign scholars’ academic views on border ethnicminorities have strongly practical significance for international academic exchangesand cooperation. In this paper, based on Citespace, the existing research in this field isanalyzed and summarized, taking 149 papers on related topics from 2000 to 2020 assamples. It is found that in recent years, the number of research results of foreignscholars in the field of frontier ethnic minorities has increased to a limited degree; theresearch disciplines mainly involve medicine, anthropology and sociology; the researchtopics are more concentrated which focusing on diseases, public health and other issues,which is of certain significance to enrich the research content of ethnic minorities in thefrontier areas of China; most of the research methods are case study and empirical study.And the shortcomings are that Foreign scholars have made few achievements in theresearch field of frontier ethnic minorities, and seldom discussed the frontier ethnicminorities from the perspectives of politics, economy and culture which cause the studyof problems are lack of commonality.

        Candesartan-graft-polyethyleneimine Cationic Micelles for Effective Co-delivery of Drug and Gene in Anti-angiogenic Lung Cancer Therapy

        A multifunctional polymer-drug conjugate candesartan-graft-polyethyleneimine (CD-PEI, CP) containing low molecular weight polyethyleneimine (PEI) and candesartan (CD) conjugated via an amide bond was fabricated as a co-delivery micelle of drug and siRNA for potential lung cancer therapy. Here, CD as an angiotensin II type 1 receptor blocker rich in imidazole and tetrazole rings was utilized to strengthen endosomal buffering capacity of CP and suppress tumor angiogenesis. The selfassembled CP/siRNA complexes exhibited desirable and homogenous particle size, moderate positive charges, and efficient release of drug and siRNA in vitro. In addition, CD and siRNA could readily detached from nanovectors in tumor cells via an amidase-responsive mechanism and they achieved synergistic anti-angiogenesis efficacy by effectively downregulating the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) mRNA and protein via different pathways in vitro. In vivo investigation on nude mice bearing A549 tumor xenografts revealed that CP/siRNA complexes possessed strong antitumor activity. These findings suggested that CP could be an ideal nanovector for simultaneous transfer of drug and siRNA, and a multifunctional CP/siRNA co-delivery system with enhanced endosomal buffering capacity, amidase-responsive drug release and synergistic anti-angiogenesis efficacy might be a new promising strategy for effective lung cancer therapy.

        Expression profile and estrogenic regulation of Amh during gonadal sex differentiation in northern snakehead (Channa argus)

        Background Anti-Müllerian hormone (Amh) plays a critical role in both early sex determination and later gonad development in vertebrate species. However, it remains unknown in northern snakehead (Channa argus), which is economically important freshwater fish with sexual dimorphism. Objective This study aimed to identify the expression profiles and estrogenic regulation of CaAmh during gonadal sex differentiation in C. argus. Methods The cDNA and genomic DNA sequences of CaAmh were identified by PCR and RACE techniques. The expression patterns of CaAmh were detected by qRT-PCR during the gonadal sex differentiation and after 17α-ethinyloestradiol (EE2) treatments. Results CaAmh is composed of seven exons and six introns, and its full-length cDNA is 2413 bp in length, with 1635 bp open reading frame (ORF) that encodes a 544 amino acid protein. Tissues expression patterns revealed that CaAmh display the highest expression in testis of XY males (40.36 folds, p < 0.01). The spatio-temporal expression patterns during gonadal sex differentiation indicated that CaAmh expression differed between XX females and XY males at 30 day after hatching (dah), and reached to the peak (36.03 folds, p < 0.01) at 90 dah in XY gonads. However, CaAmh expression in XX gonads remained low throughout the sampling period. Furthermore, CaAmh expression in the gonads (ovaries) of the sex-reversed XY fish (XY-F) by the administration of estrogen EE2 was downregulated to low level, similar to that in ovaries of normal XX females (XX-F). Conclusions These results show that Amh plays a critical role in testicular differentiation of C. argus and it is apparently modulated by estrogens in this species.
