Fabrication of MOF-808(Zr) with abundant defects by cleaving ZrAO bond for oxidative desulfurization of fuel oil

Yulong Gu,Hongsi Luo,Wei Xu,Wei Zhou,Yinyong Sun 한국공업화학회 2022 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.105 No.-

Creation of defects in metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) has been demonstrated to be of significance formany potential applications. MOF-808(Zr), as an important member of MOFs, has attracted extensiveattention due to its advantages such as high stability, large surface area and pore size. Therefore, thedevelopment of defective MOF-808(Zr) is of great interest. In this contribution, we report that MOF-808(Zr) with abundant defects can be fabricated by the fracture of partial ZrAO bonds in its structureby the treatment of NH4HCO3 solution. During the treatment, the effect of NH4HCO3 concentration andtreatment time on the structural properties of MOF-808(Zr) was investigated. The catalytic performanceof obtained materials was evaluated by the oxidative desulfurization reaction of dibenzothiophene. Theresults revealed that MOF-808(Zr) obtained under the conditions of 0.08 M NH4HCO3 and treatment timeof 10 min exhibited superior catalytic activity (124.8 mmol/h/g) at 60 C due to the formation of richdefect sites in MOF-808(Zr).

Adaptive Adjustment of Compressed Measurements for Wideband Spectrum Sensing

( Yulong Gao ),( Wei Zhang ),( Yongkui Ma ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2016 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.10 No.1

Compressed sensing (CS) possesses the potential benefits for spectrum sensing of wideband signal in cognitive radio. The sparsity of signal in frequency domain denotes the number of occupied channels for spectrum sensing. This paper presents a scheme of adaptively adjusting the number of compressed measurements to reduce the unnecessary computational complexity when priori information about the sparsity of signal cannot be acquired. Firstly, a method of sparsity estimation is introduced because the sparsity of signal is not available in some cognitive radio environments, and the relationship between the amount of used data and estimation accuracy is discussed. Then the SNR of the compressed signal is derived in the closed form. Based on the SNR of the compressed signal and estimated sparsity, an adaptive algorithm of adjusting the number of compressed measurements is proposed. Finally, some simulations are performed, and the results illustrate that the simulations agree with theoretical analysis, which prove the effectiveness of the proposed adaptive adjusting of compressed measurements.

Catabolite Control Protein A of Streptococcus suis Type 2 Contributes to Sugar Metabolism and Virulence

        Yulong Tang,Wei Wu,Xiaoyan Zhang,Zhongyan Lu,Jianshun Chen,Weihuan Fang 한국미생물학회 2012 The journal of microbiology Vol.50 No.6

Catabolite control protein A (CcpA) is the major transcriptional regulator in carbon catabolite repression in several Gram-positive bacteria. We attempted to characterize the role of a CcpA homologue of Streptococcus suis type 2 in sugar metabolism and virulence. Addition of glucose or sucrose to the defined medium significantly reduced the activity of raffinose-inducible α-galactosidase, cellobiose-inducible β-glucosidase, and maltose-inducible α-glucosidase of the wildtype strain by about 9, 4, and 2-3 fold, respectively. Deletion of ccpA substantially derepressed the effects of repressing sugars on α-galactosidase or β-glucosidase activity. The ccpA deletion mutant showed reduced expression of virulence genes sly and eno (P<0.05), decreased adhesion to and invasion into endothelial cells (P<0.05), and attenuated virulence to mice with significant reduction of death rate and bacterial burden in organs, as compared to the wild-type strain. Both the in vitro and in vivo defect phenotypes were reversible by ccpA complementation. Thus, this study shows that CcpA of S. suis type 2 plays an important role in carbon catabolite repression and virulence.

      • Real-Time Terrain Storage Generation from Multiple Sensors towards Mobile Robot Operation Interface

Song, Wei,Cho, Seoungjae,Xi, Yulong,Cho, Kyungeun,Um, Kyhyun Hindawi Publishing Corporation 2014 The Scientific World Journal Vol.2014 No.-

A mobile robot mounted with multiple sensors is used to rapidly collect 3D point clouds and video images so as to allow accurate terrain modeling. In this study, we develop a real-time terrain storage generation and representation system including a nonground point database (PDB), ground mesh database (MDB), and texture database (TDB). A voxel-based flag map is proposed for incrementally registering large-scale point clouds in a terrain model in real time. We quantize the 3D point clouds into 3D grids of the flag map as a comparative table in order to remove the redundant points. We integrate the large-scale 3D point clouds into a nonground PDB and a node-based terrain mesh using the CPU. Subsequently, we program a graphics processing unit (GPU) to generate the TDB by mapping the triangles in the terrain mesh onto the captured video images. Finally, we produce a nonground voxel map and a ground textured mesh as a terrain reconstruction result. Our proposed methods were tested in an outdoor environment. Our results show that the proposed system was able to rapidly generate terrain storage and provide high resolution terrain representation for mobile mapping services and a graphical user interface between remote operators and mobile robots.

Optical and Magnetic Properties of Copper Doped Zinc Oxide Nanofilms

        Shifeng Zhao,Yulong Bai,Jieyu Chen,Alima Bai,Wei Gao 한국자기학회 2014 Journal of Magnetics Vol.19 No.1

Copper doped Zinc Oxide nanofilms were prepared using a simple and low cost wet chemical method. The microstructures, phase structure, Raman shift and optical absorption spectrum as well as magnetization were investigated for the nanofilms. Room temperature ferromagnetism has been observed for the nanofilms. Structural analyses indicated that the films possess wurtzite structure and there are no segregated clusters of impurity phase appreciating. The results show that the ferromagnetism in Copper doped Zinc Oxide nanofilms is driven either by a carrier or defect-mediated mechanism. The present work provides an evidence for the origin of ferromagnetism on Copper doped Zinc Oxide nanofilms.

Hair Growth Promoting Effects of 650 nm Red Light Stimulation on Human Hair Follicles and Study of Its Mechanisms via RNA Sequencing Transcriptome Analysis

( Kai Yang ),( Yulong Tang ),( Yanyun Ma ),( Qingmei Liu ),( Yan Huang ),( Yuting Zhang ),( Xiangguang Shi ),( Li Zhang ),( Yue Zhang ),( Ji’an Wang ),( Yifei Zhu ),( Wei Liu ),( Yimei Tan ),( Jinran 대한피부과학회 2021 Annals of Dermatology Vol.33 No.6

Background: Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) leads to thinning of scalp hair and affects 60%~70% of the adult population worldwide. Developing more effective treatments and studying its mechanism are of great significance. Previous clinical studies have revealed that hair growth is stimulated by 650-nm red light. Objective: This study aimed to explore the effect and mechanism of 650-nm red light on the treatment of AGA by using ex vivo hair follicle culture. Methods: Human hair follicles were obtained from hair transplant patients with AGA. Hair follicles were cultured in Williams E medium and treated with or without 650-nm red light. Real-time RT-PCR and immunofluorescence staining were used to detect the expression level of genes and proteins in hair follicles, respectively. RNA-sequencing analysis was carried out to reveal the distinct gene signatures upon 650 nm treatment. Results: Low-level 650 nm red light promoted the proliferation of human hair follicles in the experimental cultured-tissue model. Consistently, 650 nm red light significantly delayed the transition of hair cycle from anagen to catagen in vitro. RNA-seq analysis and gene clustering for the differentially expressed genes suggests that leukocyte transendothelial migration, metabolism, adherens junction and other biological process maybe involved in stimulation of hair follicles by 650-nm red light treatment. Conclusion: The effect of 650-nm red light on ex vivo hair follicles and the transcriptome set which implicates the role of red light in promoting hair growth and reversing of miniaturization process of AGA were identified.

Sputum Transcriptomics Reveals FCN1+ Macrophage Activation in Mild Eosinophilic Asthma Compared to Non-Asthmatic Eosinophilic Bronchitis

        Zhan Wenzhi,Luo Wei,Zhang Yulong,Xiang Keheng,Chen Xiaomei,Shen Shuirong,Huang Chuqing,Xu Tingting,Ding Wenbin,Chen Yuehan,Lin Mingtong,Pan Xinghua,Lai Kefang 대한천식알레르기학회 2024 Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Research Vol.16 No.1

Purpose: Eosinophilic asthma (EA) and non-asthmatic eosinophilic bronchitis (EB) share similar eosinophilic airway inflammation. Unlike EA, EB did not present airway hyperresponsiveness or airflow obstruction. We aimed to compare the mechanism underlying the different manifestations between EA and EB via sputum transcriptomics analysis. Methods: Induced-sputum cells from newly physician-diagnosed EA, EB patients, and healthy controls (HCs) were collected for RNA sequencing. Results: Bulk RNA sequencing was performed using sputum cells from patients with EA (n = 18), EB (n = 15) and HCs (n = 28). Principal component analysis revealed similar gene expression patterns in EA and EB. The most differentially expressed genes in EB compared with HC were also shared by EA, including IL4, IL5 IL13, CLC, CPA3, and DNASE1L3. However, gene set enrichment analysis showed that the signatures regulating macrophage activation were enriched in EA compared to EB. Sputum cells were profiled using single-cell RNA sequencing. FABP4+ macrophages, SPP1+ macrophages, FCN1+ macrophages, dendritic cells, T cells, B cells, mast cells, and epithelial cells were identified based on gene expression profiling. Analysis of cell-cell communication revealed that interactions between FCN1+ macrophages and other cells were higher in EA than in EB. A wealth of transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) interactions between FCN1+ macrophages and other cells have been shown in EA. The gene expression levels of EREG, TGFBI, and VEGFA in FCN1+ macrophages of EA were significantly higher than those of EB. Furthermore, signatures associated with the response to TGF-β, cellular response to VEGF stimulus and developmental cell growth were enriched in FCN1+ macrophages of EA compared to those of EB. Conclusions: FCN1+ macrophage activation associated with airway remodeling processes was upregulated in EA compared to that in EB, which may contribute to airway hyperresponsiveness and airflow obstruction.

Genome-wide identification and comparative analysis of the TUBBY-like protein gene family in maize

        Ma Qing,Chen Yulong,Dai Wei,Sun Baoming,Zhao Yang 한국유전학회 2016 Genes & Genomics Vol.38 No.1

The evolutionary history of TUBBY-like proteins (TLPs), which contain a highly conserved tubby domain, can be traced to the early stages of eukaryote evolution, on account of the identification of this gene family in organisms from single-celled to multicellular eukaryotes. While genome-wide structural and evolutionary analyses of the entire TLP gene family have recently been reported in Arabidopsis and rice, little is known about TLP genes in maize. To gain insight into how TLP genes have evolved in maize, we conducted comprehensive analysis of the molecular evolution of TLP genes in this crop. A total of 15 TLP genes (ZmTLP1–15) were identified in maize by genome-wide screening. This family was classified into four subfamilies based on phylogenetic relationships, protein domains, and motif organization. Gene duplication and chromosomal location analysis indicated that segmental duplication has played a major role in the expansion of the maize TLP family. The ZmTLP genes exhibited differential expression profiles under ABA, NaCl, 42, 4 C, and PEG stress treatment. We performed microsynteny analysis across three gramineous species based on comparisons of the specific regions containing TLP genes, revealing numerous microsyntenic gene pairs among maize, rice, and sorghum, which suggests that the flanking regions of TLP genes may be derived from a common ancient Gramineae ancestor.

Simultaneous Collision Avoiding and Target Tracking for Unmanned Ground Vehicle with Velocity and Heading Rate Constraints

        Zhaoyang Cuan,Da-Wei Ding,Heng Wang,Yahui Liu,Yulong Liu 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2023 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.21 No.4

This paper develops a novel control method for solving the challenging problem of simultaneous collision avoidance and target tracking for an unmanned ground vehicle with velocity and heading rate constraints. The problem is formulated as an optimization problem where the trajectory tracking is treated as a soft constraint via control Lyapunov functions and obstacles avoidance is treated as hard constraint via control barrier functions. Two constraints are naturally unified in the context of quadratic programs which ensure that the hard constraint, soft constraint, velocity and heading rate constraints are satisfied simultaneously. Under the proposed strategy, an unmanned ground vehicle can avoid the stationary and moving obstacles while tracking the desired trajectory precisely and smoothly. Finally, three representative simulations are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Effects of Achyranthes Bidentata Polysaccharide on Growth Performance, Immunological, Adrenal, and Somatotropic Responses of Weaned Pigs Challenged with Escherichia coli Lipopolysaccharide

        Guo, Guanglun,Liu, Yulan,Fan, Wei,Han, Jie,Hou, Yongqing,Yin, Yulong,Zhu, Huiling,Ding, Binying,Shi, Junxia,Lu, Jing,Wang, Huirong,Chao, Jin,Qu, Yonghua Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2008 Animal Bioscience Vol.21 No.8

A study was conducted with 48 weaned barrows ($28{\pm}3d$, $8.45{\pm}0.14kg$) to determine the effect of Achyranthes bidentata polysaccharide (ABPS) supplementation on pig performance, immunological, adrenal and somatotropic responses following Escherichia coli lipopolysaccharide (LPS) challenge. The experiment was a $2{\times}2$ factorial design; the main factors included diet (supplementation with 0 or 500 mg/kg ABPS) and immunological challenge (LPS or saline). On d 14 and 21 of the trial, pigs were given an intraperitoneal injection with either $100{\mu}g/kg$ BW of LPS or an equivalent amount of sterile saline. Blood samples were obtained 3 h after injection for analysis of tumor necrosis factor-${\alpha}$ (TNF-${\alpha}$), prostaglandin $E_2$ ($PGE_2$), cortisol, growth hormone (GH), insulin-like growth factor (IGF)-I and immunoglobulin G (IgG). On d 2 after LPS challenge, peripheral blood lymphocyte proliferation (PBLP) was measured. LPS administration decreased average daily feed intake (ADFI) (p<0.05), had a tendency to decrease average daily gain (ADG) (p<0.10) during both the first and second challenge periods and increased (p<0.05) feed:gain ratio only during the first challenge period. ABPS tended to improve ADG (p<0.10) during the first challenge period, and improved ADG (p<0.05) and tended to improve ADFI (p<0.10) during the second challenge period. ABPS did not affect feed:gain ratio. An interaction (p<0.05) between LPS challenge and diet was observed for the plasma concentrations of TNF-${\alpha}$, $PGE_2$ and cortisol after both LPS challenges such that, among LPS-treated pigs, pigs fed the ABPS diet were lower for these indices than those receiving the control diet. In contrast, pigs fed the ABPS diet had higher IGF-I (p<0.05) compared with those fed the control diet. No effect of diet, LPS challenge or both on GH and IgG was observed after both LPS administrations. LPS challenge increased PBLP when these cells were incubated with $8{\mu}g/ml$ of LPS during both the challenge periods, and did likewise when incubated with $8{\mu}g/ml$ of concanavalin A only after the first challenge. ABPS had no effect on PBLP. These data demonstrate that ABPS alters the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines following an immunological challenge, which might enable pigs to achieve better performance.
