Robust Mixed H2/H∞ Control for an Uncertain Wireless Sensor Network Systems with Time Delay and Packet Loss

        Yuan-Bo Shi,Jian-Hui Wang,Xiaoke Fang,Yueyang Huang,Shu-Sheng Gu 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2021 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.19 No.1

In this paper, the problem of robust mixed H2/H∞ control is studied for an uncertain wireless sensornetwork (WSN) systems with random time delay, packet loss and sensor faults. A system model is establishedbased on the characteristics of uncertain time delay and packet loss in WSN. In this model, system uncertaintiesare represented by random time delay and stochastic packet loss, which are described by a Markov chain. Byusing a Lyapunov-Krasovskii function, a mode-dependent mixed H2/H∞ controller is designed to guarantee boththe stochastic stability of the closed-loop system and the prescribed H2, H∞ control performances. The sufficientconditions for the existence of the controller are proved by a series of Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs). If theseLMIs are feasible, the mode-dependent mixed H2/H∞ controller can be obtained. Matlab LMI toolbox is used tocalculate the control law. Finally, a numerical example and its simulation results demonstrated the effectiveness ofthe proposed method

Chlorophyll Fluorescence Characteristics and Rapid Light Response Curves of Alpine Rhododendron

        Yuan-Huan Liu,Fang-Li Liu,Bo Long,Xiong-Li Zhou,Xue Zhang,Yue Zhang,Wen-Li Wang,Shi-Kang Shen 한국원예학회 2019 원예과학기술지 Vol.37 No.4

The aim of this study was to determine the photosynthetic adaptability of Rhododendron species toalpine environments. The chlorophyll fluorescence parameters and rapid light response curves ofeight Rhododendron species were determined under field conditions across elevation gradients (atelevations of 2,950, 3,560, 3,660, 3,770, and 4,030 m) in the Jiaozi Mountain National NaturalReserve, Yunnan Province, southwestern China. The effect of different elevations, species, and theirinteractions significantly affected most of the chlorophyll fluorescence and rapid light response curveparameters. The variable to maximum fluorescence ratio (Fv/Fm) ranged from 0.78 to 0.81 at the fiveelevation gradients. This result indicated that the studied species were well grown and adapted to thecurrent environment. The correlation analysis indicated that the elevation was positively significantlycorrelated with the photochemical efficiency of photosystem II, electron transport rate, maximumelectron transport rate, light saturation coefficient (Ek), and chlorophyll relative content (SPAD: leafchlorophyll content index) and was negatively significantly correlated with photochemicalquenching, nonphotochemical quenching, and linear initial slope values. Although no significantrelationship was observed between the elevations and Fv/Fm, the apparent difference in Fv/Fm both atelevation gradients and elevation × species levels indicated that the Rhododendron speciesdemonstrated species-specific adaptation to the environment at different elevations. Our resultsprovided evidence that Rhododendron species exhibit variations in photosynthetic activities in analpine environment at different elevations. These differences may improve the understanding of thephysiological adaptation variations of Rhododendron species across elevation gradients in associationwith climate change in the mountains of southwestern China.

Comparison of Carcass and Meat Quality Traits among Three Rabbit Breeds

        Jie Wang,Yuan Su,Mauricio A. Elzo,Xian-Bo Jia,Shi-Yi Chen,Song-Jia Lai 한국축산식품학회 2016 한국축산식품학회지 Vol.36 No.1

The objective of this study was to compare carcass composition and meat quality traits in the longissimus dorsi and biceps femoris muscles in the Hyla, Champagne and Tianfu Black rabbit breeds. Tianfu Black rabbits had the heaviest head, skin, thoracic viscera and commercial carcass percentage (p<0.05). In addition, Tianfu Black had the highest pH0 h value, followed by the Champagne and Hyla breeds (p<0.01) in the longissimus dorsi and biceps femoris muscles. Tianfu Black had a higher a* (0 h and 24 h) than the other two breeds in both longissimus dorsi and biceps femoris muscles (p<0.05). The Hyla, Champagne, and Tianfu Black breeds showed a similar pattern of differences for meat quality traits (pH, L*, a* and b*) measured in fresh meat (0 h) and meat stored for 24 h. Hyla had the highest IMF values of the three breeds (p<0.01). The lower intramuscular fat of Tianfu Black and Champagne rabbits gives them an advantage over Hyla rabbits among most consumers seeking lean rabbit meat.

Biosynthesis of rare 20(R)-protopanaxadiol/protopanaxatriol type ginsenosides through Escherichia coli engineered with uridine diphosphate glycosyltransferase genes

        Lu Yu,Yuan Chen,Jie Shi,Ru-Feng Wang,Ying-Bo Yang,Li Yang,Shujuan Zhao,Zheng-Tao Wang 고려인삼학회 2019 Journal of Ginseng Research Vol.43 No.1

Background: Ginsenosides are known as the principal pharmacological active constituents in Panax medicinal plants such as Asian ginseng, American ginseng, and Notoginseng. Some ginsenosides, especially the 20(R) isomers, are found in trace amounts in natural sources and are difficult to chemically synthesize. The present study provides an approach to produce such trace ginsenosides applying biotransformation through Escherichia coli modified with relevant genes. Methods: Seven uridine diphosphate glycosyltransferase (UGT) genes originating from Panax notoginseng, Medicago sativa, and Bacillus subtilis were synthesized or cloned and constructed into pETM6, an ePathBrick vector, which were then introduced into E. coli BL21star (DE3) separately. 20(R)-Protopanaxadiol (PPD), 20(R)-protopanaxatriol (PPT), and 20(R)-type ginsenosides were used as substrates for biotransformation with recombinant E. coli modified with those UGT genes. Results: E. coli engineered with GT95syn selectively transfers a glucose moiety to the C20 hydroxyl of 20(R)-PPD and 20(R)-PPT to produce 20(R)-CK and 20(R)-F1, respectively. GTK1- and GTC1-modified E. coli glycosylated the C3eOH of 20(R)-PPD to form 20(R)-Rh2. Moreover, E. coli containing p2GT95synK1, a recreated two-step glycosylation pathway via the ePathBrich, implemented the successive glycosylation at C20eOH and C3eOH of 20(R)-PPD and yielded 20(R)-F2 in the biotransformation broth. Conclusion: This study demonstrates that rare 20(R)-ginsenosides can be produced through E. coli engineered with UTG genes.

Experimental Study of Lateral-torsional Buckling Behavior of Stainless Steel Welded I-section Beams

        Yuanqing Wang,Lu Yang,Bo Gao,Yong-Jiu Shi,Huanxin Yuan 한국강구조학회 2014 International Journal of Steel Structures Vol.14 No.2

Investigations on lateral-torsional buckling behavior of stainless steel welded I-section beams were carried out through fourpointbending tests. The Chinese austenitic stainless steel adopted in this study contains approximately 17% of Cr, which couldbe graded as EN 1.4401. The non-linear stress-strain relationship of the material, the residual stress distribution of the sectionand the ultimate moment capacity of the welded I-section beams were obtained from the experiments, and they were comparedwith those results predicted by analytical models recommended by several researchers. Besides, a new model is proposed topredict the residual stress distribution of the stainless steel welded I-section beams.

Adaptive Synchronization of Leader-Follower Networked Systems against Communication Attenuation and Actuators Faults

        Liang Dong,Jian-Hui Wang,Shu-Sheng Gu,Yuan-Bo Shi,Fang-Mei Zhao 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2016 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.14 No.6

This paper addresses the adaptive asymptotic synchronization problem of a class of leader-follower largescale networked systems against communicated signal attenuation and actuator bias faults. Adaptive mechanismsare constructed to estimate each unknown faulty factor of communications and actuators on-line. Based on theestimations, an adaptive compensation controller is designed to automatically remove the unexpected impacts ofcommunication and actuator faults. Through the adaptive adjustment parameters and Lyapunov functions, theachievement of asymptotic synchronization of the leader-follower large-scale networked system with the improperactuator and faulty transmitted signals is obtained. Finally, the synchronization results are validated by a multiplevehicle large-scale device.

      • Mesenchymal glioma stem cells are maintained by activated glycolytic metabolism involving aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A3

        Mao, Ping,Joshi, Kaushal,Li, Jianfeng,Kim, Sung-Hak,Li, Peipei,Santana-Santos, Lucas,Luthra, Soumya,Chandran, Uma R.,Benos, Panayiotis V.,Smith, Luke,Wang, Maode,Hu, Bo,Cheng, Shi-Yuan,Sobol, Robert W National Academy of Sciences 2013 PROCEEDINGS OF THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES OF Vol.110 No.21

Tumor heterogeneity of high-grade glioma (HGG) is recognized by four clinically relevant subtypes based on core gene signatures. However, molecular signaling in glioma stem cells (GSCs) in individual HGG subtypes is poorly characterized. Here we identified and characterized two mutually exclusive GSC subtypes with distinct dysregulated signaling pathways. Analysis of mRNA profiles distinguished proneural (PN) from mesenchymal (Mes) GSCs and revealed a pronounced correlation with the corresponding PN or Mes HGGs. Mes GSCs displayed more aggressive phenotypes in vitro and as intracranial xenografts in mice. Further, Mes GSCs were markedly resistant to radiation compared with PN GSCs. The glycolytic pathway, comprising aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) family genes and in particular ALDH1A3, were enriched in Mes GSCs. Glycolytic activity and ALDH activity were significantly elevated in Mes GSCs but not in PN GSCs. Expression of ALDH1A3 was also increased in clinical HGG compared with low-grade glioma or normal brain tissue. Moreover, inhibition of ALDH1A3 attenuated the growth of Mes but not PN GSCs. Last, radiation treatment of PN GSCs up-regulated Mes-associated markers and down-regulated PN-associated markers, whereas inhibition of ALDH1A3 attenuated an irradiation-induced gain of Mes identity in PN GSCs. Taken together, our data suggest that two subtypes of GSCs, harboring distinct metabolic signaling pathways, represent intertumoral glioma heterogeneity and highlight previously unidentified roles of ALDH1A3-associated signaling that promotes aberrant proliferation of Mes HGGs and GSCs. Inhibition of ALDH1A3-mediated pathways therefore might provide a promising therapeutic approach for a subset of HGGs with the Mes signature.
