Objective-We designed a nationwide study with limited exclusion criteria to investigate the prevalence of metabolic syndrome (MetS) in Korea and its relationship with antipsychotic medications. Methods-This multicenter, cross-sectional, and observational study included patients diagnosed with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder. Sixteen hospitals enrolled 845 patients aged 18 to 65 years prescribed any antipsychotic medication between August 2011 and August 2013. MetS was diagnosed using the criteria of the modified Adult Treatment Panel III of the National Cholesterol Education Program with the Korean abdominal obesity definition (waist circumference ≥85 cm in women, ≥90 cm in men). Results-The prevalence of MetS in all patients was 36.5% and was significantly higher in men than women (men, 40.8%; women, 32.2%) and was significantly correlated with age [odds ratio (OR) 1.02] and duration of illness (OR 1.03). The prevalence of MetS across antipsychotic drugs in the major monotherapy group was as follows: 18.8% for quetiapine, 22.0% for aripiprazole, 33.3% for both amisulpride and paliperidone, 34.0% for olanzapine, 35% for risperidone, 39.4% for haloperidol, and 44.7% for clozapine. Conclusion-The prevalence of MetS is very high in patients with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder. Screening and monitoring of MetS is also strongly recommended.
Suggestive Evidence for Linkage of Schizophrenia to Chromosome 8p21-12 in Multiplex Korean Families

Objectives-Chromosome 8p21-12 has been identified as a susceptibility locus for schizophrenia based on several genomewide linkage scans with Caucasian families. The purpose of this study is to investigate the linkage of this locus to schizophrenia in Korean families. Materials and Methods-We recruited ninety-one family members from twenty-seven multiplex schizophrenia families. Fifty-nine of them were affected individuals. Seven microsatellite markers of this region with 3cM intervals were genotyped. Non-parametric linkage analysis was performed by evaluating the levels of allele sharing between the affected relative pairs. Results-In the multi-point analysis, all the points tested within this area showed positive but non-significant non-parametric lod (NPL) scores with the peak occurring between D8S1820 and D8S1769. In the single point analysis, statistically significant allele sharing was observed at D8S1769 (NPL=1.65, p=0.049). Higher levels of NPL scores (the highest single point NPL=1.98, p=0.025) were observed when the same analyses were applied to a subgroup of families in which all of the affected individuals showed auditory hallucination. Conclusions-These findings support the previous evidence from Caucasian families for a locus predisposing to schizophrenia at 8p21-12. Further studies designed to screen positional candidate genes and their SNPs at this locus are warranted, in order to identify the specific causative genetic variation of schizophrenia.

의학의 발전과 수명의 연장으로 고령화 시대를 맞아 현재 독거노인 비율은 지속적으로 증가하는 추세이다. 독거노인들은 같이 생활하는 구성원이 없기 때문에 응급 상황에서의 대처가 미흡한 실정이다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 IoT 기기와 이상행동 탐지 딥러닝 모델을 이용한다. 구축 발작 및 경련, 실신, 무반응 등의 행동 패턴 알고리즘을 설계하고, 학습된 행동 패턴이 탐지될 경우, 응급 상황임을 판단하고 신고할 수 있는 시스템을 구축한다. 이를 통해 본인의 신고에 의존하는 기존 서비스들의 문제점들을 해결하고자 한다. With advances in medicine and the extension of lifespan, the proportion of the senior living alone is continuously increasing in the age of aging. Because the senior living alone do not have members living with them, the situation in emergency situations is insufficient. To solve this problem, IoT devices and anomaly behavior detection deep learning models are used. Construction We design an algorithm for behavioral patterns such as seizures and convulsions, syncope, and non-response, and build a system that can determine and report an emergency when a learned behavioral pattern is detected. Through this, we intend to solve the problems of existing services that depend on the user’s report.

테일쉐이크(Tail Shake) 현상은 주로터 허브와 엔진카울, 착륙장치 등 전방동체에서 발생하는 와류가 테일붐 끝단 구조물 주위로 흐르면서 기체 진동을 유발하는 현상으로 헬리콥터에서 나타나는 공력간섭 특성이다. 본 연구에서는 한국형기동헬기(KUH) 개발시 확립된 전산유체해석기법을 적용하여 현재 개발 중인 소형민수헬기(LCH)의 Tail Shake 특성을 분석했다. 고속 전진비행 조건에 대해 LCH의 기본헬기인 EC15B1과의 비교를 통해 LCH의 Tail shake 수준을 정량적으로 예측했다.

It is necessary a simple helicopter design and performance analysis program for a stage of helicopter conceptual design. To meet that needs, we have developed a program which is simply used to estimate helicopter configuration and performance. The program developed by this study is composed of Requirement, Mission profile Analysis, Size, Aerodynamic, Trim, Propulsion, Weight, and Performance modules, and each modules carry out operations for a given flight condition. In this study, we validate this analysis program in 9,500 lbs and 22,000 lbs helicopters and estimate design configuration and performance of 16,000 lb helicopter. And We can use this program to optimization process for Helicopter MDO framework.
