        The effect of different SiC particle size and weight fraction in Mg/SiC particle MMC on the mechanical properties has been investigated. In this study, different particle sizes of 7㎛, 20㎛ and 50㎛ were prepared with various weight fraction of 10wt.%, 20wt.% and 30wt.% for sample preparation. By tension tests, the properties of ultimate tensile stress, yield stress and % elongation were observed and by tension-tension fatigue tests, whose procedures are standardized in ASTM standard 647E-93, the ΔK vs, da/dN curves were also obtained. Finally, the crack propagation paths were observed by optical microscope.

      • 중부지방의 난대성 수종 기후 적응도 분석 : 세종특별자치시 수산리 배재대학교 수목실습장을 대상으로

        This study was carried out to monitor the growth of warm-temperate species that are planted in the Sejong practice field of Pai Chai university and evaluated the degree of adaptation of the species in the midlands. Trees less than two years were sampled and investigated for the analysis of the climatic characteristics of the practice field. Also, this survey identified the growth characteristics and climate adaptation of warm-temperate woody species. This general forests, unlike significance in terms of the experiment excludes the pressure of the outside within the same conditions were limited to the temporal scope only the initial growth characteristics of the short forested study period. In the future study, the continuous survival rate, investigation and analysis of the physico-chemical resistance in various aspects of soil analysis should be need to look at the trends and characteristics of the additional growth. 본 연구는 세종특별자치시 수산리 배재대학교 수목실습장에 식재한 난대성 수종의 생장량을 측정하여 중부지방의 적응정도를 파악하고자 하였다. 배재대학교 수목실습장의 기후특성 분석을 통해서 수목의 생장량과의 연관성을 파악하였다. 배재대학교 세종 수목실습장에 식재한 수목을 종별로 표본추출하여 생장량을 측정하였다. 중부내륙지방에 식재한 난대성 2년 미만의 수령에 해당하는 수종의 생장특성 및 기후적응여부를 조사하였다. 연구기간이 짧아 수목의 초기 생장특성만을 시간적 범위로 한정하였다. 수목의 적응여부를 살펴보기 위한 과정으로 생장량과 고사율만을 살펴보았다는 데서 한계점이 있어 차후 연구에서는 지속적인 예찰을 통해 추가적인 생장특성의 변화추이를 살펴보고, 토양의 이화학성 분석 등 다양한 관점에서의 조사가 이루어져야 할 것이다.

        봉지종류 및 괘대시기가 ‘원황’ 및 ‘화산’ 배 과실의 수확기 품질에 미치는 영향

        We tested fruits quality and skin coloration of two pear cultivar ‘Wonhwang’ and ‘Whasan’ produced by bagging with different kinds of paper bags in the Cheonan area, Chungnam Province, Korea. The fruits were bagged at 35, 45, 55 or 65 days after full bloom (DAFB) with 3 kinds of double layer paper bag which consisted of grey color, yellow color and newspaper for outer layer. The great extent of light interruption was observed in grey colored outer paperbag among three kinds of paperbag which showed only 0.46% of lowest light transmittance when compared with 43.7% and 40.0% of yellow paper and newspaper, respectively. The development of skin redness (a*) increased with the delay of bagging time in two pear cultivars. But the fruits treated at 65 DAFB showed uneven coloration and excessive development of redness which represented low fruit external appearance value. Uniform flesh firmness was attained at the fruits bagged with grey outer color paperbag regardless of bagging time, although the fruit quality indices including soluble solids and titratable acidity did not change significantly by using different kind of fruit bags and bagging time in two pear cultivar. Based on our results, it was explained that the grey-colored fruit bag had positive effect on the development of skin coloration without any detrimental effect on fruit quality factors in ‘Wonhwang’ and ‘Whasan’ pears.

        Ethephon 및 Aminoethoxyvinylglycine 처리가 ‘원황’ 배 모의 수출 환경에서의 품질 및 생리장해 발생에 미치는 영향

        We investigate the effect of preharvest spray of aminoethoxyvinylglycine (AVG), an inhibitor of ACC synthase activity, on fruit quality of ‘Wonhwang’ pear (Pyrus pyrifolia Nakai). And the effects were compared with ethephon which releasing ethylene to elucidate treatment efficacy of ethylene biosynthesis inhibitor on Asian pears. Chemicals were sprayed on 30 days before harvest with AVG (75 and 150 mg/L) and ethephon (100 mg/L), respectively. Highest flesh firmness during 21 days of shelf-life at 25℃ after 30 days of cold storage was attained in the fruit treated with 150 mg/L AVG (26.5N) when compared with untreated control (16.7N), while the fruits treated with 100 mg/L ethephon completely lost their marketability within 14 days of shelf-life by mass drop of firmness down to 11.6N. Low incidence of physiological disorders including pithiness and core browning were attained at the fruits treated with 150 mg/L AVG when we compared with untreated control. No occurrence of mealiness found in the fruits treated with AVG but ethephon treated fruits showed 36.4% during 14 days of shelf-life. Consequently, AVG spray at the concentration of 150mg/L on Asian pear ‘Wonhwang’ fruit regarded as useful preharvest management approach for keeping quality during marketing period after simulated exportation.

      • 배 ‘신고’에 GA3, A3+4+7 및 GA4+7 처리가 과실 형태 및 품질에 미치는 영향

        우리나라에서 많이 사용되고 있는 숙기촉진용 식물생장조절제의 성분 차이에 따른 과실의 형태적 기형 및 품질에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 수확기에 과실 무게를 측정한 결과, GA3, GA3+GA4+7 및 GA4+7의 모든 제제에서 과실비대가 유의하게 나타났으며 GA4+7 단용 제제가 가장 높은 비대율을 보였다. 과실의 형태적 이상은 종자생장과 관련이 있는데 GA4+7 제제를 사용한 과실에서 비정상종자발생 비율이 가장 높았다. 저온저장 후 과실의 품질변화에서 GA4+7 제제의 감모율이 가장 높았으며 과육경도의 경우, GA4+7 제제가 GA3+GA4+7 사용 과실에 비해 낮게 나타났다. 이상의 결과를 고려하면 GA4+7의 단용처리구의 경우 과실의 비대효과는 크지만 수확기 이상비대 과실의 출현, 저장 중 경도 감소 등 전반적인 과실품위 유지가 어려울 것으로 판단되므로 지베렐린 이용 시 보다 주의가 필요하다고 판단된다. In this study, we tested the effects of registered or unregistered plant growth regulator gibberellin pastes on fruit shape and internal in 'Niitaka' pears. The treatment of the GA4+7 produced the most enlarged fruit and the fruits treated with unregistered GA paste showed lowest flesh weights among the treatments. Fruit shape of 'Niitaka' pears was closely associated with the formation of normal seeds. And the fruits treated with unregistered GA had the highest proportion of abnormal seed with severe occurrence of abnormal-shaped fruit. We also compared the quality indices after cold storage. The highest fruit weight loss and the lowest flesh firmness values were found in the fruits treated with unregistered GA treatment. Futhermore, the use of unregistered GA products possibly smuggled from other country may occur irregular fruit development through the deficiency of seed development. Consequently, it is recommended that the use of registered GA products such as mixture of GA3 and GA4+7 intensely important to the conformation of high quality fruit production in 'Niitaka' pears.

        Bagging in Ca-coated Bag Affects Calcium Content in ‘Niitaka’ Pear Fruits

        This research was carried out to increase the calcium content of fruits that were bagged with Ca-coated bags. When ‘Niitaka’ pear fruits were bagged with the inner paper of double layer yellow bags brushed with the liquid calcium compound, CaCl₂, there was a flaw that a brown spot appeared on the fruit skin. This flaw was the most severe in bags which had a high concentration of applied calcium, but the flesh of the fruit was normal and had greater calcium content than in a regular paper bag. When a Ca-coated bag with adjuvant (wax and methanol) was placed around the fruit, no brown defect appeared on the fruit. The calcium content of the fruit was significantly increased when the fruit was bagged with adjuvant containing colloidal Ag. There was no significant difference between the quality of fruits bagged with a calcium coated bag and the quality of those with a regular paper bag. Results confirmed that mature fruit treated with ⁴?CaCl₂ could penetrate the fruit skin.

        배 ‘신고’ 과실에 칼슘코팅봉지 씌우기와 과실의 생리적 변화

        봉지를 씌워 재배하는 ‘신고’ 배의 칼슘함량 증가를 위하여 굴 껍질에서 추출한 액상칼슘화합물을 봉지 내지에 코팅한 봉지를 씌워 재배하고 과실의 칼슘 함량 및 품질 변화를 조사하였다. 칼슘봉지 괘대 과실의 저장 중 과실의 품질변화를 관행의 황색롤지 괘대 과실과 비교한 결과, 칼슘코팅 봉지 괘대 과실은 관행봉지에 비하여 저장 120일 동안 가용성 고형물, 산함량에서는 차이가 없었으나 경도는 저온저장기간 중 높게 유지되어 저장 120일에 23.9N으로 대조구 23.1N에 비해 높게 조사되었다. 과실의 칼슘함량을 비교하였던 결과, 과피의 칼슘함량이 가장 높게 조사되었는데 칼슘코팅봉지를 괘대한 과실은 수확 시 관행봉지에 비교하여 과피에서 14.7% 높게 조사되었다. 과육의 부위별 칼슘함량은 과피 직하부위가 가장 낮게 조사되었는데 칼슘봉지 처리에 따라 5.0%(0-5㎜), 6.0%(5-10㎜), 6.9%(10-15㎜)의 칼슘함량 증가를 나타내었고 120일의 저장기간 중에도 같은 경향이었다. 과실의 호흡량은 칼슘봉지 처리구나 저온저장 기간 중 낮게 유지되었으나 에틸렌 발생량은 차이를 보이지 않았다. 저장 중 과실 세포벽의 수용성 펙틴 함량은 칼슘코팅봉지 처리구 과실이 대조구에 비하여 낮은 경향이었는데 특히 과육에서의 함량이 대조구의 50% 수준으로 조사되었다. Oriental pears are mostly cultivated with bagging from the fruitlet stage until harvest in Korea. To increase the calcium content of ‘Niitaka’ pears (Pyrus pyrifolia Nakai), we cultivated the fruit with calcium-coated paper bag which was treated on inner layer of conventional double layer yellow roll paper bag. The liquid calcium compound extracted from oyster shells were used as the raw material and wax emulsion and methanol were added as supplementary agents. The calcium contents of the fruits and the quality parameters were examined during 120 days of cold storage period. There were no significant differences in soluble solids and titratable acidity during storage period, while the firmness of fruit flesh bagged with the calcium-coated paper bag was higher than that of the conventional paper bag which showed 23.9 or 23.1 N, respectively. Calcium content in the peel of the fruit bagged with calcium-coated paper bag was 14.7% higher than that of the fruit bagged with the conventional bag. The increase of calcium contents in the flesh by the depth were also revealed in calcium-coated bag when compared with conventional bag, showing 5.0, 6.0 and 6.9% increase of calcium in 0-5 ㎜, 5-10 ㎜ and 10-15 ㎜ region from the peel, respectively. The fruits produced by bagging with calcium-coated paper bag showed a tendency of low respiration rate during low temperature storage but there was no significant difference in ethylene evolution. During the storage, the solubilization of water soluble pectin was lower in the fruit bagged with calcium-coated paper bag than in conventional bag treated one.
