Small cell carcinoma(also known as oat cell carcinoma) of the urinary bladder is an extremely rare malignancy and is derived from neuroendocrine stem cells. It is usually biologically aggressive tumor with early vascular and muscle invasion, so it has poor prognosis. Radiological findings of small cell carcinoma are similar to other malignancies of urinary bladder, therefore it is impossible to distinguish small cell carcinoma from other malignancies. Pathologic study is an only useful method for differential diagnosis of bladder tumor. We report here the case of 74th years old woman presented with painless gross hematuria.

Bee venom is a natural compound produced by the honey bee (Apis mellifera), and has been reported as having the biological and pharmacological activities, including anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-inflammation. In the present study, the inhibitory effects of bee venom and its major peptide components on the tumor invasion were demonstrated. It was confirmed the inhibitory effects of bee venom, melittin, and apamin on the EGF-induced invasion of breast cancer cells. Transwell invasion and wound-healing assays showed that bee venom and melittin significantly inhibits the EGF-induced invasion and migration of breast cancer cells. Also, bee venom and melittin reduced the EGF-stimulated F-actin reorganization at the leading edge, but apamin did not affect. Particularly, melittin inhibited the EGF-induced MMP-9 expression via blocking the NF-κB and PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway. In addition, melittin significantly suppressed the EGF-induced FAK phosphorylation through inhibition of mTOR/p70S6K/4E-BP1 pathway. These results suggest that inhibitory effects of melittin on breast cancer cell motility and migration may be related to the inhibition of mTOR pathway.ⓒ2014 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
Electroencephalography for Early Detection of Alzheimer’s Disease in Subjective Cognitive Decline

Background and Purpose: Early detection of subjective cognitive decline (SCD) due to Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is important for clinical research and effective prevention and management. This study examined if quantitative electroencephalography (qEEG) could be used for early detection of AD in SCD. Methods: Participants with SCD from 6 dementia clinics in Korea were enrolled. 18F-florbetaben brain amyloid positron emission tomography (PET) was conducted for all the participants. qEEG was performed to measure power spectrum and source cortical activity. Results: The present study included 95 participants aged over 65 years, including 26 amyloid PET (+) and 69 amyloid PET (−). In participants with amyloid PET (+), relative power at delta band was higher in frontal (p=0.025), parietal (p=0.005), and occipital (p=0.022) areas even after adjusting for age, sex, and education. Source activities of alpha 1 band were significantly decreased in the bilateral fusiform and inferior temporal areas, whereas those of delta band were increased in the bilateral cuneus, pericalcarine, lingual, lateral occipital, precuneus, posterior cingulate, and isthmus areas. There were increased connections between bilateral precuneus areas but decreased connections between left rostral middle frontal area and bilateral frontal poles at delta band in participants with amyloid PET (+) showed. At alpha 1 band, there were decreased connections between bilateral entorhinal areas after adjusting for covariates. Conclusions: SCD participants with amyloid PET (+) showed increased delta and decreased alpha 1 activity. qEEG is a potential means for predicting amyloid pathology in SCD. Further longitudinal studies are needed to confirm these findings.

Background/Aims: To investigate the use of measurements of liver stiffness (LS) by two-dimensional real-time shear wave elastography (SWE) for predicting the development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB). Methods: We retrospectively collected data on 291 enrolled patients with CHB whose LS had been measured using SWE. Results: The mean age of the patients was 46.8 years; males predominated (67%), and 40 of the patients (14%) had clinical cirrhosis. Among the patients, 165 (56.7%) received antiviral treatment. The median LS value was 7.4 kPa, and the median follow-up period was 35.8 months (range, 3.0 to 52.8 months). During follow-up, HCC developed in 13 patients (4.5%), and the cumulative incidence rates of HCC at 1, 2, and 4 years were 1.1%, 3.6%, and 8.4%, respectively. Based on a multivariate analysis, older age (≥50 years) and higher LS value (≥10 kPa) were independently associated with the risk of developing HCC (hazard ratio [HR], 4.53, p=0.023; and HR, 4.08, p=0.022). The cumulative incidence rate of HCC was significantly higher in patients with higher LS values (≥10 kPa) than in those with lower LS values (<10 kPa) (p=0.001). Conclusions: Increased LS measured by SWE at any time point regardless of antiviral treatment is associated with an increased risk of HCC in patients with CHB. (Gut Liver 2017;11:852-859)

재난안전 관리정보 표준화는 재난관리의 과정(예방, 대비, 대응, 복구)을 통일화 및 단순화함으로써 재난관리의 효율성을 높이고, 국민의 생명과 재산 피해를 최소화하기 위해 필요하다. 재난안전 표준화는 과거의 재난안전 정보를 표준화하여 불확실한 미래에 대응하고 이에 따른 재난안전 관리를 체계적으로 하는 데 있다. 본 연구는 다양하고 복잡한 환경 재난 중 최근 사회적으로 관심이 많은 지진, 화재, 미세먼지 등의 재난안전 정보를 목적에 적합하게 데이터로 활용할 수 있도록 표준 코드 체계를 개발하였다. 이는 재난이 발생하면 실무자가 효율적인 재난 업무를 수행 할 수 있도록 지원하고자 한다. Disaster Safety Management Information standardization and harmonization simplifies the process of disaster management (prevention, preparedness, response and recovery) to increase the efficiency of disaster management, it is necessary to minimize the people’s life and property damage. Disaster safety standardization is to standardize disaster safety information in the past to respond to an uncertain future and systematically manage disaster safety accordingly. This study developed a standard code system to utilize disaster safety information such as earthquake, fire, and fine dust, which are of social interest among various and complex environmental disasters. It aims to support practitioners to conduct efficient disaster tasks in the event of a disaster.

최근 정보통신기술(ICT)산업이 국가핵심기술로 떠오르고 있는 실정에 맞춰 철도분야에서는 국가핵심산업의 발전을 위해「도시철도용 무선통신기반의 열차제어시스템 표준체계구축 및 성능평가 연구사업」1 단계를 2010 년부터 수행 중에 있다. 2014 년 1 단계 완료 후 일반철도 및 고속철도에 무선통신기반 철도시스템 연구개발 및 실용화를 목표로 하고 있다. 이러한 국가철도통합무선망의 효율적인 도입을 위한 기술적, 정책적 기반조성이 요구되고 있고, 철도통합무선망 건설에 필요한 법령, 기준, 제도 등에 대한 검토를 통하여 이들에 대한 보완 방안의 마련과 함께 실용화 사업의 효율적 추진이 되어야 할 것이다. recently, Rail industry is implementing "study of performence evaluation and standard system making of wireless communication train control system based on city rail" to develop national core technology, with situation of ICT industry is magnified as national core technology. 2014, after 1st part finished, it is the goal that practical use and study of wireless communication based rail system on Railway and High Speed Railway technical and political foundation construction work is being asked to introduct KRTCSefficiently, It is necessary to promote efficient operation along with the practical preparation through the examination rule, standard, system such as the the necessary factors construction of KRTCS.
