        Establishment and service of user analysis environment related to computational science and engineering simulation platform

        계산과학공학 시뮬레이션 실행 환경을 웹 기반 플랫폼으로 제공하는 EDISON 플랫폼은 전문적인 계산과학공학 연구자 뿐만 아니라 일반 학생이나 사용자에게 다양한 분석 환경을 제공해 줄 수 있다. 이러한 시뮬레이션 환경의 사용자 확대 및 서비스 분석을 위해 매년 EDISON 플랫폼에서는 경진대회를 개최하고 사용자의 시뮬레이션 환경 요구사항을 분석하여 플랫폼의 경쟁성과 우수성을 증대하기 위해 노력해왔다. 계산과학공학 분야의 경진대회 시스템은 기존의 EDISON 플랫폼에서 사용중인 시뮬레이션 서비스와 연계되어 사용자에게 제공되고 있다. 이전까지의 EDION 경진대회 서비스는 시뮬레이션 서비스와 독립적으로 동작하여 최종 사용자 심사 및 중간 시뮬레이션 결과 확인 등의 서비스를 연계하지 못했다. 이러한 요구를 충족하기 위해 현재 서비스 중인 계산과학공학 경진대회의 서비스는 기존의 계산과학공학 시뮬레이션 서비스와 연계되어 사용자와 다양한 서비스 이용자에게 연계된 서비스를 제공할 수 있게 되었다. 또한 경진대회를 진행하고 참가하는 모든 사용자에 대한 다양한 분석을 통해 서비스를 제한적으로 제공함으로써 서비스 리소스에 대한 효율을 높일 수 있었다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 사용자의 시뮬레이션 환경 및 사용 환경 분석을 진행함으로써, 실제 사용자들에게 필요한 서비스와 사용자의 분석을 통해 경진대회 플랫폼을 제공하고 시뮬레이션 실행 환경에 대한 개선 방안에 대해 분석을 진행하였다. The EDucation-research Integration through Simulation On the Net (EDISON) platform, which is a web-based platform that provides computational science and engineering simulation execution environments, can offer various analysis environments to students, general users, as well as computational science and engineering researchers. To expand the user base of the simulation environment services, the EDISON platform holds a challenge every year and attempts to increase the competitiveness and excellence of the platform by analyzing the user requirements of the various simulation environment offered. The challenge platform system in the field of computational science and engineering is provided to users in relation to the simulation service used in the existing EDISON platform. Previously, EDISON challenge servicesoperated independently from simulation services, and hence, services such as end-user review and intermediate simulation results could not be linked. To meet these user requirements, the currently in-service challenge platform for computational science and engineering is linked to the existing computational science and engineering service. In addition, it was possible to increase the efficiency of service resources by providing limited services through various analyses of all users participating in the challenge. In this study, by analyzing the simulation and usage environments of users, we provide an improved challenge platform; we also analyze ways to improve the simulation execution environment.

        Inhibition of p53 transcriptional activity by human cytomegalovirus UL44

        <P><B>ABSTRACT</B></P><P>Human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) stimulates cellular synthesis of DNA and proteins and induces transition of the cell cycle from G<SUB>1</SUB> to S and G<SUB>2</SUB>/M phase, in spite of increased amounts of p53 in the infected cells. The immediate early protein IE2–86? kDa (IE86) tethers a transcriptional repression domain to p53; however, its repression of p53 function is not enough to abrogate the G<SUB>1</SUB> checkpoint function of p53. Other HCMV proteins that suppress the activity of p53 were investigated in this study. Of the HCMV proteins that bind to p53 when assessed by immunoprecipitation and immunoblot analysis, HCMV UL44 was chosen as a candidate protein. It was found that reporter gene containing p53 consensus sequence was activated by transfection with wild type p53, but when plasmids of p53 with IE86 or UL44 were co‐transfected, p53 transcriptional activity was decreased to 3–7% of the p53 control in a dose‐dependent manner. When the deletion mutant of UL44 was co‐transected with p53, the carboxyl one‐third portion of UL44 had little effect on inhibition of p53 transcriptional activity. The amount of mRNA p21 was measured in H1299 by real time PCR after transfection of the combination of p53 and UL44 vectors and it was found that p21 transcription by p53 was inhibited dose‐dependently by UL44. Increased G0/G1 and decreased S phases in p53 wild type‐transfected H1299 cells were recovered to the level of p53 mutant type‐transfected ones by the additional transfection of UL44 in a dose‐dependent manner. In conclusion, the transcriptional activity of p53 is suppressed by UL44 as well as by IE86.</P>

        Cytoplasmic Translocation of p53 by Human Cytomegalovirus Infection

        p53 is a well-known multi-functional transcription regulator and is critical in the induction of apoptosis in response to various stresses. Human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) infection induced the accumulation of p53, which was partly relocalized in cytoplasm, but no apparent cell death in human fibroblasts. p53 in HCMV-infected cells was mainly mono-ubiquitinated, which might be resulted from the decreased expression of MDM2 in the course of HCMV infection. Ubiquitinated p53 was also phosphorylated at serine 20. CRM1 increased in the cytoplasm of HCMV-infected cells. It was found that p53 and its mutant in nuclear export sequences were localized in the cytoplasm of cells when co-expressed with CRM1. Collectively, our data suggest that HCMV infection modifies p53 into a stable and exportable form and accumulates it in the cytoplasm, but does not result in apoptotic death of cells.

        Real-Time Workout Posture Correction using OpenCV and MediaPipe

        This paper proposes a program that uses OpenCV and MediaPipe to guide the workout (squat, push-up) posture correction content and the number of workouts by estimating the posture of real-time images. Specifically, the program estimates the landmarks of the users body from the images acquired using the webcam in real time. Furthermore, it calculates the body angle and numerical values necessary to determine whether the posture is correct, and guides the user with the necessary corrections when the wrong posture is taken. It also increases and guides the number of workouts when the user takes the correct posture. Guidance for posture correction is displayed on the screen, and the number of workouts is guided by screen and voice. This program helps people exercise at home while checking their posture and work out with the proper posture without the help of an exercise trainer.

        Asymptomatic Uterine Incarceration at Near-Term Pregnancy with a Successful Delivery Outcome: A Case Report and Review of Literature

        An incarcerated gravid uterus is a rare obstetrical complication that requires close monitoring to ensure fetal and maternal well-being and to plan a successful delivery. Most patients present with vague anatomic pressure-related symptoms, such as pelvic discomfort and urinary symptoms, in the early 2nd trimester. Initial presentation in the 3rd trimester is scarce, and asymptomatic cases are even rarer. In this case report, we present an asymptomatic patient who was referred at 30 weeks of gestation with an initial impression of placenta previa totalis. She was not a candidate for uterine reduction; therefore, after a close follow-up period, she underwent planned cesarean section at 36 weeks of gestation. Because of its rare frequency and related obstetrical complications, early clinical suspicion and diagnosis are critical for management until delivery and establishing a successful delivery strategy.

        계산과학공학 플랫폼의 워크벤치 기반 동적 서비스 설계 및 구축에 관한 연구

        계산과학공학 소프트웨어 플랫폼인 EDISON( EDucation-research Integration through Simulation On the Net )은 클라우드 컴퓨팅 기반 웹서비스로서, 해석 소프트웨어를 이용한 웹 기반 시뮬레이션 서비스이다. EDISON에서는 사용자의 로컬 자원으로는 해석이 어렵거나 불가능한 계산과학공학 해석 문제를 웹 서비스를 통해 사용자에게 제공하며 미리 구축되어 있는 인프라 및 다양한 계산 노드를 통해 사용자에게 해석 결과를 제공한다. 그 결과로 사용자의 디바이스, 운영체제에 관계 없이 EDISON에 접근하여 계산과학 공학 해석 시뮬레이션을 수행할 수 있도록 웹 포털 환경에서 시뮬레이션 실행 환경을 제공한다. 본 연구의 목적은 현재 사용자에게 제공되고 있는 계산과학 공학 시뮬레이션 및 해석 결과 분석 플랫폼인 EDSION 시스템에 통합적인 유저 인터페이스를 제공하기 위한 워크벤치 기반 실시간 동적 서비스 설계 및 구축에 있다. 또한 로컬에서 사용하는 계산과학공학 시뮬레이션 소프트웨어 환경과 유사한 사용자 유저 인터페이스를 가지며 다양한 해석기와 전처리기, 해석 시뮬레이션 소프트웨어 등의 동적인 웹 환경을 구성할 수 있는 워크벤치 기반 사용자 시뮬레이션 서비스 환경 구성에 대해 고안하였다. 이러한 웹 서비스를 제공하기 위해 사용자에게 필요한 서비스를 포틀릿 단위로 구성하였으며, 그 결과로 워크벤치를 이용한 시뮬레이션 서비스를 구축하였다. EDISON ( EDucation-research Integration through Simulation On the Net) is a web simulation service based on cloud compu-ting. EDISON provides that web service and provide analysis result to users through pre-built infrastructure and various calcu-lation nodes computational science engineering problems that are difficult or impossible to analysis as user's personal resources to users. As a result, a simulation execution environment is provided in a web portal environment so that EDISON can be ac-cessed regardless of a user's device or operating system to perform computational science engineering analysis simulation. The purpose of this research is to design and construct a workbench based real - time dynamic service to provide an integrat-ed user interface to the EDSION system, which is a computational science engineering simulation and analysis platform, which is currently provided to users. We also devised a workbench-based user simulation service environment configuration. That has a user interface that is similar to the computational science engineering simulation software environment used locally. It can configure a dynamic web environment such as various analyzers, preprocessors, and simulation software. In order to provide these web services, the service required by the user is configured in portlet units, and as a result, the simulation service using the workbench is constructed.

      • 성능기반 리팩토링 기법 연구

        소프트웨어가 복잡해지고 대형화됨에 따라 다양한 소프트웨어 구조개선 방법이 연구되고 있으며, 특히 객체지향 시스템에서의 복잡도를 낮추고 가독성, 구조, 성능, 유지보수, 추상성 등을 향상시킬 수 있는 리팩토링(Refactoring) 기법이 활용되고 있다. 리팩토링은 객체지향 방법론에서 사용되는 높은 응집도와 낮은 결합도 원칙에 따라 기존의 소프트웨어를 결과에 변화 없이 구조 개선을 제시하였다. 본 연구에서는 자바의 GC(Gabage Collection)를 중심으로 메모리관리에 따른 성능향상 방법을 제시하고, 각 객체와 메모리 관계를 주요 팩터로 하여 무브메소드를 선정하고 리팩토링을 시도하는 방법을 제안한다. As software is getting more complicated and bigger, a variety of studies to improve software structure has been studied, which can reduce complexity of object-oriented systems and improve readability, structure, performance, maintenance, abstractness. Refactoring can be one of the those studies and has been widely used. Refactoring is a disciplined technique for restructuring an existing body of code without changing its external behavior which follows the high cohesion, low coupling principle in OOP. In this paper, it is proposed to improve performance by enhance memory usage based on Java garbage collector. And refactoring technique which identify move method region and extracting it, is demonstrated.
