        Atmospheric Corrosion of 7B04 Aluminum Alloy in Marine Environments

        Outdoor exposure tests using of 7B04 aluminium alloy samples including plate, tensile and various SCC samples were carried out in Tuandao station, Shandong province (East of China) and Wanning station, Hainan province (South of China). Corrosion characteristics including weight loss, microstructure, tensile strength and SCC susceptibility were investigated. The corrosion rates in Tuandao and Wanning showed high to low and the corrosion rates changed to the following equation of w=at<sup>b</sup> (b<1). The corrosion of 7B04 aluminium alloy in Wanning was more serious than that in Tuandao. Pitting appeared at early stage of expose test, and it can be changed to general corrosion with test time extension. The 7B04 aluminium alloy of which specimen shapes are forging and thick plate also showed SCC (Stress corrosion cracking) in the marine atmosphere. The higher SCC sensitivity was observed in Wanning station than in Tuandao station. The 7B04 aluminium alloy with a high stress level was more sensitive to SCC. Intergranular and transgranular or a mixed mode of cracking can be observed in different marine exposure.

        Study on the Reduction Properties of Thiourea Dioxide and Its Application in Discharge Printing of Polyester Fabrics

        The thiourea dioxide (TDO) was tentatively applied as a reductive discharging agent onto the discharge printing of polyester fabrics. The effect of aqueous solution temperature on the reducing capacity of TDO was thoroughly investigated by measuring oxidation-reduction potentials and hydrolysis kinetic curves. The effects of TDO on disperse dyes in aqueous solution and disperse dyes printed on the surfaces of glass substrates or polyester fabrics were investigated by analyzing the color changes before and after TDO discharge treatment. It was confirmed that TDO reduction became stronger with increasing aqueous solution temperature. TDO could destroy the chromogenic groups of the selected azo-dyes in aqueous solution and on the surfaces of glass substrates. Different from cotton and silk fabrics, the discharge effect of TDO directly depended on the compact structure of the polyester fibers. When a discharge accelerant was added into white discharge pastes with TDO, the compact structure of polyester fibers was opened up to achieve a good discharge effect. This study provides a new method for TDO development and a new strategy for the discharge printing of polyester fabrics.

        Methanol aromatization over CrZn-modified HZSM-5 catalysts

        HZSM-5 (HZ) zeolite co-modified with Zn and second promoters (Zr, Ce, Mo and Cr) was synthesized and the aromatization of methanol over the modified HZ in a fixed-bed reactor was investigated. The results of catalytic tests revealed that the methanol conversion and yield of benzene, toluene, and xylene (BTX) over the Cr, Zn comodification HZ (CrZn/HZ) were higher than that over ZrZn/HZ, CeZn/HZ, and MoZn/HZ. The catalysts were characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS, N2 isothermal adsorption-desorption and NH3-TPD. The results suggest that Zn species exist in two forms in the HZ zeolite. One is ZnO particle, the other one is ZnOH+, which significantly improveds the yield of BTX. Furthermore, the Cr species on the external surface promoted the dispersion of ZnO, increased the amount of ZnOH+, which further improved the yield of BTX. In addition, the optimal Cr2Zn1/HZ catalyst exhibited better catalytic performance and prolonged lifetime of reaction.

        물/1,2-Dichloroethane 계면에서 Cefotiam 약물 이온의 전이 반응 연구 및 약물 센서에 응용

        본 논문은 편극화된 물/1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCE) 계면에서 세포티암(cefotiam, CTM) 항생제 약물의 전이 반응을 전기화학적 방법으로 조사하였다. CTM 약물은 물의 pH에 따라 서로 다른 전하를 가지고 이온화되며 각 pH에서 이들 이온의 전이 반응을 연구함으로써 처음으로 CTM 약물이 좀 더 우세하게 물 또는 유기층에 분배되는 정도를 나타내는 상 분배 도표를 세웠다. 이를 바탕으로 CTM 약물의 형식 전이 전위값 및 형식 Gibbs 전이 에너지 값을 포함한 열역학적 정보와 함께 분배 계수를 포함한 중요한 약물동태학 정보를 얻었다. 특히 pH 3.0 수용액에서 양전하를 띠는 CTM 이온의 전이 반응을 순환전압전류법으로 조사한 결과 CTM 농도에 따라 측정한 전류 값이 비례하여 증가한다는 점을 확인하였다. 이를 바탕으로 CTM 이온을 정량 분석 가능한 센서를 개발하였다. 휴대성과 이동성을 보완하기 위해 polyethylene terephthalate 필름에 마이크로홀을 만들어 지지체로 사용하고, 1,2-DCE 유기용매를 polyvinylchloride-2-nitrophenyloctylether (PVC-NPOE) 유기성 젤로 대체하여 도포하는 방식으로 센서를 제작하였다. 상기 센서를 이용하여 CTM 약물을 1 μM에서 10 μM까지 정량 분석할 수 있었다. In this article, electrochemical investigation of the transfer reaction of ionizable cefotiam (CTM), an antibiotic molecule across a polarized water/1,2-dichloroethane (water/1,2-DCE) interface was studied. Ion partition diagram providing the preferred charged form of CTM in either water or 1,2-DCE phase was established via the voltammetric evaluation of the transfer process of differently charged CTM species depending upon the pH variation of aqueous solutions. Thermodynamic information including the formal transfer potential and formal Gibbs transfer energy values in addition to important pharmacokinetics including partition coefficients of ionizable CTM were also evaluated. In particular, the current associated with the transfer of CTM present at pH 3.0 aqueous solution proportionally increased with respect to the CTM concentration which was further used for developing CTM sensitive ion sensor. In order to improve the portability and convenient usage, a single microhole interface fabricated in a supportive polyethylene terephthalate film was used of which hole was filled with a polyvinylchloride-2-nitrophenyloctylether (PVC-NPOE) gel replacing 1,2-DCE, a toxic organic solvent. A dynamic range of 1-10 μM CTM was obtained.

        액체/액체 계면에서 테트라사이클린 전이반응의 전기화학적 분석 및 응용

        편극화된 물/1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCE) 계면에서 이온화가 가능한 테트라사이클린(tetracycline, TC) 화학종 전이 반응을 순환전압전류법과 시차펄스전위법을 이용하여 조사하였다. 물의 pH 변화에 따라 전하 상태가 다른 TC 이온 화학종이 물/1,2-DCE 계면에서 전이하는 전위 값을 측정하여 TC 이온의 상 분배 도표를 얻었다. 이를 통해 각 pH에 따라 수용액 또는 유기 용액 층에서 좀 더 우세한 TC 이온 화학종 형태를 확인하였다. 이와 함께 상기 계면에서 TC 전이반응의 형식 전이 전위, 분배 계수 및 Gibbs 에너지 값을 포함한 열역학적 정보를 얻었다. 또한 TC 이온을 정량 분석가능한 센서로 제작하기 위해 고분자 박막에 단일 마이크로 홀을 만들고 유기성의 polyvinylchloride-2-nitropheny-loctylether(PVC-NPOE) 젤을 도포하여 물/젤 계면을 형성하였다. 물/1,2-DCE 계면에서 TC 이온의 전이 반응과 매우 유사하게 수용액의 pH가 4.0일 때 TC 이온의 농도 변화에 따라 전류 값이 증가하는 것을 순환전압전류법으로 관찰하였다. 시차펄스벗김전위법을 이용하여 상기 물/젤 계면에서 완충 수용액에 존재하는 TC 화학종을 5 μM까지 검출할 수 있었으며, 5 μM에서 30 μM까지 정량분석 할 수 있었다. The transfer reaction characteristics of tetracycline (TC) across a polarized water/1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCE) interface was studied via controlling both pH and ionic strength of the aqueous phase in conjunction with cyclic and differential pulse voltammetries. Formal transfer potential values of differently charged TC ionic species at the water/1,2-DCE interface were measured as a function of pH values of the aqueous solution, which led to establishing an ionic partition diagram for TC. As a result, we could identify which TC ionic species are more dominant in the aqueous or organic phase. Thermodynamic properties including the formal transfer potential, partition coefficient and Gibbs transfer energy of TC ionic species at the water/1,2-DCE interface were also estimated. In order to construct an electrochemical sensor for TC, a single microhole supported water/polyvinylchloride- 2-nitrophenyloctylether (PVC-NPOE) gel interface was fabricated. A well-defined voltammetric response associated with the TC ion transfer process was achieved at pH 4.0 similar to that of using the water/1,2-DCE interface. Also the measured current increased proportionally with respect to the TC concentration. A 5 μM of TC in pH 4.0 buffer solution with a dynamic range from 5 μM to 30 μM TC concentration could be analyzed when using differential pulse stripping voltammetry.

        Use of Magnetic Resonance Neurography for Evaluating the Distribution and Patterns of Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy

        Objective: To evaluate the distribution and characteristics of peripheral nerve abnormalities in chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) using magnetic resonance neurography (MRN) and to examine the diagnostic efficiency. Materials and Methods: Thirty-one CIDP patients and 21 controls underwent MR scans. Three-dimensional sampling perfections with application-optimized contrasts using different flip-angle evolutions and T1-/T2- weighted turbo spinecho sequences were performed for neurography of the brachial and lumbosacral (LS) plexus and cauda equina, respectively. Clinical data and scores of the inflammatory Rasch-built overall disability scale (I-RODS) in CIDP were obtained. Results: The bilateral extracranial vagus (n = 11), trigeminal (n = 12), and intercostal nerves (n = 10) were hypertrophic. Plexus hypertrophies were observed in the brachial plexus of 19 patients (61.3%) and in the LS plexus of 25 patients (80.6%). Patterns of hypertrophy included uniform hypertrophy (17 [54.8%] brachial plexuses and 21 [67.7%] LS plexuses), and multifocal fusiform hypertrophy (2 [6.5%] brachial plexuses and 4 [12.9%] LS plexuses) was present. Enlarged and/or contrast-enhanced cauda equina was found in 3 (9.7%) and 13 (41.9%) patients, respectively. Diameters of the brachial and LS nerve roots were significantly larger in CIDP than in controls (p < 0.001). The largest AUC was obtained for the L5 nerve. There were no significant differences in the course duration, I-RODS score, or diameter between patients with and without hypertrophy. Conclusion: MRN is useful for the assessment of distribution and characteristics of the peripheral nerves in CIDP. Compared to other regions, LS plexus neurography is more sensitive for CIDP.

        Experimental and numerical study on the wave force calculation of a partially immersed horizontal cylindrical float

        Taking the cylindrical float of the floating fence of a floating litter collection device as the research object, based on the shallow immersion characteristics of the cylindrical float, the Morison equation is modified, and the interaction between regular waves and the partially immersed horizontal cylindrical float is discussed in combination with scale model test. The results show that the modified Morison equation can accurately predict the wave force of the horizontal cylindrical float and reveal the influence of amplitude, immersion depth and period on the wave force of the cylindrical float. For partially immersed cylindrical floats, the wave force increases with the increase in wave height and decays with the increase in period. The positive value distribution of the wave force is larger than that of the negative direction, and the difference between the positive and negative directions is mainly affected by the immersion depth.

        Xe Distribution in Xe-ion Implanted NaCl Crystal

        Former experimental results show that solid-state alkali-Xe cluster could be formed in xenon-ion-implanted alkali halide crystal. This kind of cluster makes solid state alkali metal-xenon nano-materials potential candidates for preparing UV micro-laser matrix. By means of Rutherford Backscattering Spectrometry (RBS) and TRIM codes, Xe atom distributions are studied in this paper. The results show that Xe was found at a depth of around 250 nm. As xenon concentration increased, the number of metallic Na colloids increased as well. These metallic Na colloids were found in SEM images of our irradiated samples, and the formation of solid-state NaXe clusters in NaCl implanted by 129Xe has been used to explain the results in this paper.
