      • Establishing a Nomogram for Stage IA-IIB Cervical Cancer Patients after Complete Resection

        Background: This study aimed to establish a nomogram by combining clinicopathologic factors with overall survival of stage IA-IIB cervical cancer patients after complete resection with pelvic lymphadenectomy. Materials and Methods: This nomogram was based on a retrospective study on 1,563 stage IA-IIB cervical cancer patients who underwent complete resection and lymphadenectomy from 2002 to 2008. The nomogram was constructed based on multivariate analysis using Cox proportional hazard regression. The accuracy and discriminative ability of the nomogram were measured by concordance index (C-index) and calibration curve. Results: Multivariate analysis identified lymph node metastasis (LNM), lymph-vascular space invasion (LVSI), stromal invasion, parametrial invasion, tumor diameter and histology as independent prognostic factors associated with cervical cancer survival. These factors were selected for construction of the nomogram. The C-index of the nomogram was 0.71 (95% CI, 0.65 to 0.77), and calibration of the nomogram showed good agreement between the 5-year predicted survival and the actual observation. Conclusions: We developed a nomogram predicting 5-year overall survival of surgically treated stage IA-IIB cervical cancer patients. More comprehensive information that is provided by this nomogram could provide further insight into personalized therapy selection.

        Generalized-extended-state-observer-based Sliding-mode Control for Buck Converter Systems

        This paper presents a generalized-extended-state-observer (GESO)-based sliding-mode control (SMC) method to deal with mismatched parameter uncertainty and reference-input mutation for a class of DC-DC buck converter systems (BCS). First, a GESO is designed to estimate the total disturbance together with the system state. Then, by choosing an appropriate disturbance-compensation gain, a composite SMC law is designed to attenuate the influence of the parameter uncertainty and reference input mutation on the system output. Both the stability criterion and deign procedure of the system are given. Finally, simulation results show that the designed GESO-based SMC system for the DC-DC BCS is robustly stable and achieves both satisfactory transient and steady-state performance. Comparisons demonstrate that the proposed method provides better transient and steady-state performance for both disturbance rejection and tracking control than either conventional SMC or ESO-based control approach does.

        Generalized-extended-state-observer-based Repetitive Control for DC Motor Servo System with Mismatched Disturbances

        This paper presents a generalized-extended-state-observer (GESO)-based repetitive control (RC) method for a direct-current motor servo system (DCMSS) subject to parameter perturbation and load torque variation, which are mismatched. A GESO is constructed to estimate the lumped disturbance in real time fashion. Incorporating the estimate into a state-feedback RC law yields a composite controller with a dynamical compensation gain, which ensures that the suppression of the mismatched total disturbance and the tracking of periodic signal are achieved simultaneously. The stability criterion and design procedure of the system are developed. Finally, simulation results show that the GESO-RC based DCMSS effectively eliminates the influences on the output of the parameter variation and the load disturbance and has both satisfactory dynamical performance and robustness. Comparisons with conventional PID control, PID-RC, and standard extended-state-observer based RC demonstrate the superiority of this method.

      • HOCl Oxidation-modified CT26 Cell Vaccine Inhibits Colon Tumor Growth in a Mouse Model

        Despite progress in elucidating mechanisms associated with colorectal cancer and improvement of treatment methods, it remains a frequent cause of death worldwide. New and more effective therapies are therefore urgently needed. Recent studies have shown that immunogenicity of whole ovarian tumor cells and subsequent T cell response were potentiated by oxidation modification with hypochlorous acid (HOCl) in vitro and ex vivo. These results prompted us to investigate the protective antitumor response with an HOCl treated CT26 colorectal cancer cell vaccine in an in vivo mouse model. Administration of HOCl modified vaccine triggered robust antitumor immunity to autologous tumor cells in mice and prolonged survival period significantly. In addition, increased necrosis and apoptosis were found in tumor tissue from the oxidation group. Interestingly, ELISPOT assays showed that specific T cell responses were not elicited in response to the immunizing cellular antigen, in contrast to raising sera antibody titer and antibody binding activity shown by ELISA assay and flow cytometry. Further evaluation of the mechanisms underlying HOCl modified vaccine mediated humoral immunity highlighted the role of antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity. These results combined with previous studies suggest that HOCl oxidation modified whole cell vaccine has wide applicability as a cancer vaccine because it can target both T cell- and B cell-specific responses. It may thus represent a promising approach for the immunotherapy of colorectal cancer.

Under the market economic condition. enterprise is a profit entity, whose goal and motivate is pursuing profit and the biggest economic benefit. In a degree, is pursuing the maximum value-added. While value-added is the natural characteristic of capital. Value-added accounting and management services for enterprise pursuing the maximum value, value-added and economic benefit. It is a bridge of linking macro-accounting with micro-accounting. It is benefit for combing accounting with management; making up for the shortcomings of present accounting and enterprise management system. At the same time. it can affect enterprise’s value-added strategy, plan and budget deeply. This paper argues that china should learn and imitate korea and western country’s value added sheet and execute the first kind of value-added accounting and management presently. On the other hand, in some of the listed company with good operating and management system, introduce the economic value-added accounting and management gradually, pursuing profit and the biggest economic benefit.

        Aperiodic Disturbance Rejection in a Modified Repetitive-control System

        This paper presents a method of designing a modified output-feedback repetitive-control system(MOFRCS) that exploits the equivalent-input-disturbance (EID) approach to improve the aperiodic-disturbancerejection performance. The aperiodic disturbances are estimated by an EID estimator and suppressed by incorporationof the estimation into a repetitive control law. First, the configuration of the EID-based MOFRCS is described. Next, a sufficient stability condition is derived by employing the separation and small gain theorems. Then, themethods of designing an MOFRCS and an EID estimator are explained. Finally, some simulation results of arotational control system are used to demonstrate the validity of the method.

        Comparative research on the industries’ advantages and disadvantages and companies’ comprehensive financial ability in ethnic minority regions of China

        본 연구는 중국 소수민족지역 기업의 산업특징과 주식및 채권을 통한 자금조달을 포함한 전반적인 재무특성을 분석하였다. 분석자료는 2007년에서 2009년까지 중국의 남동 연안지역과 소수민족지역의 주요 상장기업을 대상으로 하였으며 분석방법은 재무지표를 활용한 비교분석을 활용하였다. 분석내용은 지역별 재무분석, 산업특성별 재무분석, 소수민족기업의 SEO를 통한 자금조달분석, 소수민족기업의 채권발행을 통한 자금조달분석이다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중국 남동 연안지역은 중국전체에 있는 미개발된 여러 민족지역과 비교하여 기업의 발달 수준, 자금조달에 관한 재무비율분석에서 매우 큰 차이를 보였다.둘째, 소수민족 지역 기업들의 전반적인 자금조달 수준은 남동 연안지역의 기업들보다 열등한 것으로 분석되었다. 세째, SEO를 통한 자금조달분석, 채권발행을 통한 자금조달분석을 통하여 소수민족지역 기업능력 또한 남동 연안지역 기업보다 부족한 것으로 분석되었다. 이러한 분석내용을 토대로 소수민족 지역 기업들의 자금조달 어려움을 해결하고, 잠재적인 우위를 가진 기업들의 육성에 집중하기 위해, 소수민족 지역 기업들의 자금조달 능력뿐만 아니라, 전반적인 자금부족과 불균형해소에 정책적 역량을 집중할 필요성을 인식하였다. 또한 중국 남동 해안 지역과 소수 민족 지역의 경제력 격차를 축소시키고 소수 민족 지역의 경제적·사회적 발전을 유도하여 균형 잡힌 발전을 달성할 수 있는 동기부여을 위한 정책적 고려가 이루어져야 할 것이다. Compared to eastern coastal region and all over China, the undeveloped ethnic region of China has a very large disparity in its enterprise development level, financing, and capital market. This paper executes comparative research on the comprehensive financial indicators during the period of 2007-2009 of the whole listing of the selected companies in some important or special industries’ listed companies in ethnic minority regions and southeast coastal regions, as well as the comparative analysis on the financing ability of seasoned equity financing and the creditor’s rights financing of listed companies of ethnic minority area. It obtained the conclusion that the overall financial level of ethnic minority regions’ companies is inferior to the southeast coastal regions, and it’s financing ability is insufficient and low, but there still exists some competitive and potential industries in ethnic minority regions. As a result, we should find out the shortage and disparity in the overall financial level including financing ability of ethnic minority regions’ companies, as well as the superiority and potential superiority industries to focus on fostering and try to solve the financing difficulties in ethnic minority regions. Then, it uses those above measures to motivate the vigor of ethnic minority regions’ economic, and impetus the development of ethnic minority regions’ economic and society, narrowing the gap with the southeast coastal regions, getting to achieve common and balanced development.

      • Association Between p53 codon 72 Polymorphism and Cervical Cancer Risk Among Asians: a Huge Review and Meta-analysis

        Objective: The aim of this Human Genome Epidemiology (HuGE) review and meta-analysis was to derive a more precise estimation of the association between p53 codon 72 polymorphism (Arg72Pro, rs1042522 G>C) and cervical cancer risk among Asians. Methods: A literature search of Pubmed, Embase, Web of Science and CBM databases from inception through June 2012 was conducted. The meta-analysis was performed using STATA 12.0 software. Crude odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were used to assess the strength of any association. Twenty-eight case-control studies were included with a total of 3,580 cervical cancer cases and 3,827 healthy controls. When all the eligible studies were pooled into the meta-analysis, the results showed that the Pro/Pro genotype was associated with increased risk of cervical cancer under the heterozygous model (Pro/Pro vs. Arg/Pro: OR = 1.25, 95%CI: 1.02-1.53, P= 0.005). However, no statistically significant associations were found under four other genetic models (Pro vs. Arg: OR = 0.97, 95%CI: 0.85-1.10, P= 0.624; Pro/Pro + Arg/Pro vs. Arg/Arg: OR = 0.84, 95%CI: 0.70-1.01, P= 0.058; Pro/Pro vs. Arg/Arg + Arg/Pro: OR = 1.13, 95%CI: 0.92-1.39, P= 0.242; Pro/Pro vs. Arg/Arg: OR = 0.97, 95%CI: 0.76-1.22, P= 0.765; respectively). In the subgroup analysis based on country, the Pro/Pro genotype and Pro carrier showed significant associations with increased risk of cervical cancer among Indian populations, but not among Chinese, Japanese and Korean populations. Conclusion: Results from the current meta-analysis suggests that p53 codon 72 polymorphism might be associated with increased risk of cervical cancer, especially among Indians.

      • Identification of Cisplatin-Resistance Associated Genes through Proteomic Analysis of Human Ovarian Cancer Cells and a Cisplatin-resistant Subline

        Chemoresistance to cancer therapy is a major obstacle to the effective treatment of human cancers with cisplatin (DDP), but the mechanisms of cisplatin-resistance are not clear. In this study, we established a cisplatin-resistant human ovarian cancer cell line (COC1/DDP) and identified differentially expressed proteins related to cisplatin resistance. The proteomic expression profiles in COC1 before and after DDP treatment were examined using 2-dimensional electrophoresis technology. Differentially expressed proteins were identified using matrix-assisted laser desorption/ ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS) and high performance liquid chromatography-electrospray tandem MS (NanoUPLC-ESI-MS/MS). 5 protein spots, for cytokeratin 9, keratin 1, deoxyuridine triphosphatase (dUTPase), aarF domain containing kinase 4 (ADCK 4) and cofilin1, were identified to be significantly changed in COC1/DDP compared with its parental cells. The expression of these five proteins was further validated by quantitative PCR and Western blotting, confirming the results of proteomic analysis. Further research on these proteins may help to identify novel resistant biomarkers or reveal the mechanism of cisplatin-resistance in human ovarian cancers.

      • Aberrant Expression of Markers of Cancer Stem Cells in Gastric Adenocarcinoma and their Relationship to Vasculogenic Mimicry

        Background: Gastric cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related death in Asia, and the majority type is gastric adenocarcinoma (GAC). Most GAC patients die of recurrence and metastasis. Cancer stem cells (CSCs) have been thought to be responsible for the initiation, development, metastasis, and ultimately recurrence of cancer. In this study, we aimed to investigate expression and clinical significance of CSCs markers, CD133 and Lgr5, and vasculogenic mimicry (VM) in primary GAC. Materials and Methods: Specimens from 261 Chinese patients with follow-up were analyzed for CD133, Lgr5 protein expression and VM by immunohistochemical and histochemical staining. The Pearson Chi's square test was used to assess the associations among the positive staining of these markers and clinicopathological characteristics. Postoperative overall survival time was were studied by univariate and multivariate analyses. Results: In GAC tissues, positive rates of 49.0%, 38.7%, and 26.8% were obtained for CD133, Lgr5, and VM, respectively. The mean score of microvessel density (MVD) was $21.7{\pm}11.1$ in GAC tissues. There was a significantly difference between the positive and negative groups. There was a positive relationship between the VM, the expression of CD133 and Lgr5, and the score of MVD and the grades of tumor, lymph node metastasis, TNM stages (all p<0.05). The overall mean survival time of the patients with CD133, Lgr5, VM, and MVD (${\geq}22$) positive expression was lower than that of patients with negative expression. The score of MVD, positive expression of CD133 and VM were independent prognostic factors of GAC (p<0.05). Conclusions: VM, and expression of CD133, Lgr5, and the score of MVD are related to grades of tumor, lymph node metastasis, TNM stages, and overall mean survival time. It is suggested that CSCs and VM could play an important role in the evolution of GAC.
