        CEO Core Self-evaluation: Impacts on Market Orientation and Innovation Performance

        Purpose - This research aims to develop and test an integrative model examining the relationship between CEO core Self-evaluation (CSE) and innovation performance. The CEO’s personality plays a crucial role in organizational performance. However, its impact on market orientation and innovation has not been well developed. Additionally, CEO personality research has been hobbled by the absence of a unifying construct that captures core dimensions of personality. Design/methodology/approach - After follow-up telephone calls, 145 CEOs agreed to participate; only 103 questionnaires were usable. The hypotheses were tested using moderated regression analysis Findings - The result indicated CEOs who have strong CSEs greatly influence their firm’s market orientation and innovation. In addition, CEO CSE has a stronger impact on innovation when the TMT is highly collaborative. Research implications or Originality - CEOs with strong CSE feel more competent and pay greater attention to outside forces, which then affects the firm’s market orientation and innovation. Thus, this research goes beyond the relatively conservative and static review adopted in previous studies of CEO personality affection

        The Influence of a Second Metal on the Ni/SiC Catalyst for the Methanation of Syngas

        The catalytic performance of silicon carbide supported nickel catalysts modified with or without secondmetal (Co, Cu and Zn) for the methanation of CO has been investigated in a fixed-bed reactor using a feed consisting of25% CO and 75% H2 without any diluent gas. It has been found that the introduction of Co species can clearly improvethe catalytic activity of Ni/SiC catalyst, whereas the addition of Cu or Zn can result in a significant decrease in the catalyticactivity. The characterizations by means of XRD, TEM, XPS, CO-TPD and H2-TPR indicate that the addition ofCo could decrease the particle size of active metal, increase active sites on the surface of methanation catalyst, improvethe chemisorption of CO and enhance the reducibility of methanation catalysts. Additionally, the special interaction betweenCo species and Ni species is likely favorable for the dissociation of adsorbed CO on the surface of catalyst, and this mayalso contribute to the high activity of 5Co-Ni/SiC catalyst for CO methanation reaction. For 5Cu-Ni/SiC catalyst and 5Zn-Ni/SiC catalyst, Cu and Zn species could cover partial nickel particles and decrease the chemisorption amount of CO. These could be responsible for the low methanation activity. In addition, a 150h stability test under 2 MPa and 300 oCshowed that 5Co-Ni/SiC catalyst was very stable for CO methanation reaction.

        Ginsenoside Rh2 attenuates microglial activation against toxoplasmic encephalitis via TLR4/NF-kB signaling pathway

        Background: Ginsenoside Rh2 (GRh2) is a characterized component in red ginseng widely used in Korea and China. GRh2 exhibits a wide range of pharmacological activities, such as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anticancer properties. However, its effects on Toxoplasma gondii (T. gondii) infection have not been clarified yet. Methods: The effect of GRh2 against T. gondii was assessed under in vitro and in vivo experiments. The BV2 cells were infected with tachyzoites of T. gondii RH strain, and the effects of GRh2 were evaluated by MTT assay, morphological observations, immunofluorescence staining, a trypan blue exclusion assay, reverse transcription PCR, and Western blot analyses. The in vivo experiment was conducted with BALB/c mice inoculated with lethal amounts of tachyzoites with or without GRh2 treatment. Results and conclusion: The GRh2 treatment significantly inhibited the proliferation of T. gondii under in vitro and in vivo studies. Furthermore, GRh2 blocked the activation of microglia and specifically decreased the release of inflammatory mediators in response to T. gondii infection through TLR4/NF-kB signaling pathway. In mice, GRh2 conferred modest protection from a lethal dose of T. gondii. After the treatment, the proliferation of tachyzoites in the peritoneal cavity of infected mice markedly decreased. Moreover, GRh2 also significantly decreased the T. gondii burden in mouse brain tissues. These findings indicate that GRh2 exhibits an antieT. gondii effect and inhibits the microglial activation through TLR4/NF-kB signaling pathway, providing the basic pharmacological basis for the development of new drugs to treat toxoplasmic encephalitis.

        A New Steroidal Saponin, Yuccalan, from the Leaves of yucca smalliana

        An extract of the leaves of Yucca smalliana Fern. (Agavaceae) showed potential antimicrobial activity. Employing a bioassay linked fractionation method, one of the active principles, namely yuccalan, was isolated as a new stroidal saponin. Thn structure of the new steroidal saponin was elucidated as 3-0-${\beta}$-D-glucopyranosyl-(1${\longrightarrow}$6)-${\beta}$-D-glucopyranosyl-(3${\beta}$, 5${\alpha}$, 6${\alpha}$, 25S)-spirostan-3,6,27-triol (1) using various spectroscopic techniques, including IR, MS, ID and 2D $^1$H-NMR, and $^{13}$C-NMR. The purified yuccalan showed antifungal activities against both Rhizoctonia silani and Fusarium oxysporum.

        Ginsenoside Rh2 reduces depression in offspring of mice with maternal toxoplasma infection during pregnancy by inhibiting microglial activation via the HMGB1/TLR4/NF-kB signaling pathway

        Background: Maternal Toxoplasma gondii (T. gondii) infection during pregnancy has been associated with various mental illnesses in the offspring. Ginsenoside Rh2 (GRh2) is a major bioactive compound obtained from ginseng that has an anti-T. gondii effect and attenuates microglial activation through toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4)/nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-kB) signaling pathway. GRh2 also alleviated tumor-associated or lipopolysaccharide-induced depression. However, the effects and potential mechanisms of GRh2 on depression-like behavior in mouse offspring caused by maternal T. gondii infection during pregnancy have not been investigated. Methods: We examined GRh2 effects on the depression-like behavior in mouse offspring, caused by maternal T. gondii infection during pregnancy, by measuring depression-like behaviors and assaying parameters at the neuronal and molecular level. Results: We showed that GRh2 significantly improved behavioral measures: sucrose consumption, forced swim time and tail suspended immobility time of their offspring. These corresponded with increased tissue concentrations of 5-hydroxytryptamine and dopamine, and attenuated indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase or enhanced tyrosine hydroxylase expression in the prefrontal cortex. GRh2 ameliorated neuronal damage in the prefrontal cortex. Molecular docking results revealed that GRh2 binds strongly to both TLR4 and high mobility group box 1 (HMGB1). Conclusion: This study demonstrated that GRh2 ameliorated the depression-like behavior in mouse offspring of maternal T. gondii infection during pregnancy by attenuating the excessive activation of microglia and neuroinflammation through the HMGB1/TLR4/NF-kB signaling pathway. It suggests that GRh2 could be considered a potential therapy in preventing and treating psychiatric disorders in the offspring mice of mothers with prenatal exposure to T. gondii infection.

        虛位時間對決策情境的虛位誘導效應影響硏究

        隨着國內饥饿營銷、團購、秒殺等一系列虛位營銷方式的興起,通過控制虛位産品的不可得信號呈現的時間來情境性地影響消費者對相關産品的偏好和態度的營銷策略應用更加廣泛。基于産品不可得信號轉換方式界定了虛位時間槪念的兩種表現形式。已有虛位時間的相關硏究主要從企業和産品的視角探討産品從不可得到可得信號轉換的新産品預發布時間,忽略了消費者決策情境視角對産品從可得到不可得信號轉換的虛位時間感知下消費者決策行爲的硏究。基于雙屬性空間虛位誘導效應啓動策略模型,依据心理學時間壓力及認知閉合需要的相關理論,運用著名E-Prime心理學實驗軟件設計虛位時間在決策過程中的6個層次下的消費者決策實驗。實證結果表明:虛位時間同時對虛位誘導效應及其加工流暢性産生影響,而且加工流暢性在虛位誘導效應引發的消費者偏好反轉過程中具有顯著的中介作用,結論不僅彌補和豊富了消費者決策行爲中的虛位誘導效應的理論框架,幷進一步提高虛位營銷策略的效率和效益。 With the rising of phantom marketing in Chinese market, such as hunger marketing, group purchase, sec-killing and so on, marketing strategies that can influence consumers’ preference and attitude about related products by controlling the time of presenting an phantom product become more widely. On account of conversion mode of unavailable signal of products, it defines two types of phantom time. It has been mostly concerned about preannouncements time of new products from unavailable to available signal in light of enterprises and products, but has not explored consumer decision-making study on phantom time of products from available to unavailable signal. Based on Chinese consumer decision-making context cue using the famous psychology experiment software named as E-prime based on priming model of phantom decoy effects in double attribute space and according to relevance psychological theory of time pressure and need for cognitive closure, this paper designs six phantom time experiments of consumer decision-making. The results show: phantom time both exert positive influence on phantom decoy effects and processing fluency, and more importantly, processing fluency plays a significant medium role in the course of consumer preference reversal caused by phantom decoy effects. Its conclusions not only make up and enrich the theory framework of phantom decoy effects on consumer decision-making behavior, but also improve phantom marketing efficiency and profits.

        韓國醫療旅游競爭力因素對實際消費行爲和顧客忠誠度的影響

        本硏究首先考察了醫療旅游的競爭因素,然后分析了醫療旅游競爭力因素對實際購買行爲的影響,以及實際購買行爲對顧客忠誠的影響. 與此同時, 檢測了滿意度是否在醫療旅游的競爭因素影響實際購買行爲這個過程中存在調節效應,驗證了實際購買行爲在醫療旅游競爭因素與顧客忠誠之間的中介作用. 在這項硏究中,選定的醫療旅游競爭力因素爲醫療技術,价格和地理因素。本硏究的調査對象僅限于在韓國有醫療旅游經驗的中國人. 本硏究共發放230分問卷,剔除其中无效問卷22分后,最終有208個有效問卷數据用于分析. 數据分析得到四個結論,首先當不考慮滿意度的影響時醫療旅游競爭力因素中只有地理因素對實際消費行爲有積極(+)影響. 其次醫療旅游者的實際消費行爲對顧客忠誠度也有積極(+)影響. 然后滿意度的調節影響只在醫療技術水平與實際購買行爲之間存在,幷且滿意度越高調節作用越大,最后實際消費行爲在地理因素和顧客忠誠度之間發揮了中介效應. This study first examines the competitive factors of medical tourism, analyzes the influence of medical tourism competitiveness factors on actual purchasing behavior, and analyzes the effect of actual purchasing behavior on customer loyalty. In addition, we investigate whether there is a mediating effect between competitive factors and actual purchasing behavior according to medical tourism type and satisfaction, and mediating effects between medical tourism competitive factors and customer loyalty. In this study, medical tourism competitiveness factors were selected as medical technology, price, and geographical factors. The subjects of this study were limited to Chinese who had medical tourism experience in Korea. A total of 230 questionnaires were collected and 208 questions were used for the analysis except for the unreliable response data. Only the geographical factors among the factors of medical tourism competitiveness presented in this study have a positive effect on actual consumption behavior. And the actual consumption behaviors of medical tourists have a positive effect on customer loyalty. The higher the satisfaction of medical tourists, the more positive the medical technology level has on the actual consumption behavior. Actual consumption behavior has played a mediating role between geographical factors and customer loyalty.

        “一带一路”背景下东北亚FTA与图们江FTZ对接融合法治研究

        For a long time, China has always adhered to the multilateral cooperation and opening-up attitude of promoting regional stability, development and win-win in the development of international and regional trade and economy. Chinas one belt, one road initiative is also required to strengthen cooperation in Northeast Asia and promote the convergence of FTA between Northeast Asia and Tumen River FTZ. With the close economic and trade exchanges among Northeast Asian countries, the hinterland of the Tumen River in China has become an important region for the cooperation and development of six Northeast Asian countries, including China, South Korea, North Korea, Mongolia, Russia and Japan. In the context of regional coordinated development, a good rule of law environment has become the necessary cornerstone of its development. Chinas one belt, one road initiative, and the analysis of the economic and trade cooperation between China and Northeast Asia, and the relevant laws and regulations, combing the rule of law in the Northeast Asian countries and the Tumen River region of China, puts forward a series of legal issues that need to be solved urgently in terms of the quality of legal culture, laws and regulations, and organizational structure. Chinas one belt, one road, is the basis for the study of the rule of law dilemma in the integration of Northeast Asia FTA and Tumen River FTZ. This paper explores the rule of law path to promote the integration of the two parties, and puts forward new models for institutional culture and talent training.

        중국 상장회사 사외이사제도에 관한 연구

        As a newly-dopted system, the system of independent director is aimed at solving the problem of “one-stock-prestige” and regulating the action of the listed companies, while protecting the interest of the medium and moderate investors. Although there are some deficiency and problems in its setting and practice, we cannot deny the system itself. This paper makes some proposals on the issues such as qualification of the independent directors; rights and obligations; mechanismof inspiring and duty; relation between the independent and the board of supervisors. China has not yet formed a mature independent director market, the produce and exit mechanisms, incentive and restraintmechanisms of independent director are not perfect, and it requires constant exploration in practice to establish a modern enterprise system and introduce the independent director system to play its function. Therefore, there have important practical significance to study and improve Chinese system of independent directors.
