        Fabrication and optical dispersions of three-dimensional hierarchical plasmonic nanostructures

        This paper describes a facile method for the design and fabrication of hierarchical nanopatterns via aluminumanodization with an application for creating plasmonic crystals. Fabrication of highly-orderedanodized aluminum oxide nanopores requires an applied electric potential for anodization, which is typicallyset to match the pitch of nanoindentations on Al. This study reports a new voltage regime for Alanodization conditions where the process yields satellite pores of various shapes, periodicities, and sizesaround the main pores. These new nanopatterned platforms provide an easy route to fabricate hierarchicalmetal nanostructures whose energy dispersions are shaped by the mode superposition of the surfaceplasmon polaritons originating from multiple periodic lattices.

      • Interfacial Mode Interactions of Surface Plasmon Polaritons on Gold Nanodome Films

        <P>Hollow metallic nanodome structures were fabricated using anodized aluminum oxide (AAO) nanopores as deposition and sacrificial templates. Individual Au nanodomes inherit the unique shapes of the well-defined AAO membranes whose pedestal cells become square or hexagonal lattices with hemispheres in close proximity. Minimal contact between the hollow nanodomes and the glass substrate provide an identical dielectric medium across the film. The nanodome Au films support surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) of strong air-Au and weak Au-glass modes in the light transmission dispersions. The mode crossings of distinct SPPs exhibit characteristic energy gaps, which depend on the periodic geometries of the nanostructures.</P>

      • Genetic diversity of super-sweet corn inbred lines using SSR and SSAP markers

        In this study we evaluate the informative and efficiency of Simple Sequence Repeat (SSR) and Sequence Specific Amplified Polymorphism (SSAP) markers for genetic diversity, genetic relationship and population structure among 87 super sweet corn inbred lines generated by different origins. The SSR showed relatively higher level of the average gene diversity and shannon’s information index value than that of the SSAP. To assess genetic relationship and to characterize among 87 super sweet corn inbred lines using the SSR and SSAP markers. The dendrogram using SSR marker divided into nine groups of clusters were observed at the genetic similarity value 53.0%. For SSAP marker, Total three main clusters were confirmed in genetic similarity value at 50.8%. Result of combine data for SSR and SSAP markers showed six subgroup were detected in genetic similarity at 53.5%. To confirm population structure, the total 87 super sweet corn inbred lines were divided into groups I, II and admixed group based on membership probability 0.8 for SSR and SSAP markers. However population structure using combine data was K=3 and divided into group I, II, III and admixed group. This study has demonstrated the comparative analysis of SSR and SSAP for the study of genetic diversity and the genetic relationship for super sweet corn inbred lines. Thus, the results of this study will be useful to maize breeding programs in Korea.

        종합병원 간호사의 노인에 대한 지식과 돌봄태도, 공감력이 노인간호수행도에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 종합병원 간호사의 노인에 대한 지식, 돌봄태도, 공감력이 노인간호수행도에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 연구 대상자는 G광역시와 전라북도 K군에 소재한 종합병원에서 근무하는 간호사 167명이었다. 본 연구의 자료는 2020년 8월 24일부터 2020년 10월 10일까지 수집되었다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 25.0 프로그램을 이용하여 빈도와 백분율, 평균 및 표준편차, t-test와 ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, 위계적 회귀분석으로 분석하였다. 대상자의 노인간호수행도는 265점 만점에서 평균 195.80±28.4점, 노인에 대한 지식은 19점 만점에서 평균 10.41±2.98점, 돌봄태도는 85점 만점에서 평균 59.96±7.65점, 공감력은 300점 만점에서 평균 226.63±26.65점으로 나타났다. 노인간호수행도는 일반적 특성 중 노인과 관련된 교육경험에서 유의한 차이를 나타냈으며(t=2.03, p =.044), 돌봄태도(r=.38, p <.001), 공감력(r=.68, p <.001)과 유의한 상관관계를 보여주었다. 노인간호수행도에 영향을 미치는 요인은 공감력(β=0.683, p <.001)이었으며, 설명력은 45.2%로 나타났다. 연구결과 공감력은 노인간호수행도에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인으로 확인되었으며, 노인간호수행도를 향상시키기 위해서는 간호사의 공감력을 향상시킬 수 있는 적절한 중재프로그램 또한 시행되어야 함을 확인하였다. This is a descriptive research study to evaluate the effects of knowledge, caring attitude, and empathy of general hospital nurses on their nursing performance involving elderly patients. The subjects of the study were 167 nurses working at general hospitals located in the G metropolitan city and K- gun, Jeollabuk-do. The data collection was conducted from August 24, 2020, to October 10, 2020. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 25.0 program to evaluate frequency, per percentage, mean and standard deviation, t-test and ANOVA, Pearson"s Correlation coefficient, and Hierarchical Multiple Registration Analysis. The mean score of the participants" nursing performance with the aged was 195.80± 28.4 out of 265, knowledge of the elderly was 10.41±2.98 out of 19, caring attitude was 59.96±7.65 out of 85, and empathy was 226.63±26.65 out of 300. The significant variations in geriatric nursing educational experience (t=2.03, p =.044), caring attitude (r=.38, p <.001), and empathy (r=.68, p <.001) showed a significant amount of correlation. One of the main factors influencing elderly care nursing performance was empathy (β=0.683, p <.001), with an explanatory power of 45.2%. Empathy was thus identified as a major factor affecting the nursing performance for the aged, and appropriate programs to improve nurse empathy should be implemented to enhance performance.

        Impact of Skeletal Muscle Loss and Visceral Obesity Measured Using Serial CT on the Prognosis of Operable Breast Cancers in Asian Patients

        Objective: This study aimed to investigate the impact of baseline values and temporal changes in body composition parameters, including skeletal muscle index (SMI) and visceral adipose tissue area (VAT), measured using serial computed tomography (CT) imaging on the prognosis of operable breast cancers in Asian patients. Materials and Methods: This study retrospectively included 627 Asian female (mean age ± standard deviation [SD], 53.6 ± 8.3 years) who underwent surgery for stage I–III breast cancer between January 2011 and September 2012. Body composition parameters, including SMI and VAT, were semi-automatically calculated on baseline abdominal CT at the time of diagnosis and follow-up CT for post-treatment surveillance. Serial changes in SMI and VAT were calculated as the delta values. Multivariable Cox regression analysis was used to evaluate the association of baseline and delta SMI and VAT values with disease-free survival. Results: Among 627 patients, 56 patients (9.2%) had breast cancer recurrence after a median of 40.5 months. The mean value ± SD of the baseline SMI and baseline VAT were 43.7 ± 5.8 cm2/m2 and 72.0 ± 46.0 cm2, respectively. The mean value of the delta SMI was -0.9 cm2/m2 and the delta VAT was 0.5 cm2. The baseline SMI and VAT were not significantly associated with disease-free survival (adjusted hazard ratio [HR], 0.983; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.937–1.031; p = 0.475 and adjusted HR, 1.001; 95% CI, 0.995–1.006; p = 0.751, respectively). The delta SMI and VAT were also not significantly associated with disease-free survival (adjusted HR, 0.894; 95% CI, 0.766–1.043; p = 0.155 and adjusted HR, 1.001; 95% CI, 0.989–1.014; p = 0.848, respectively). Conclusion: Our study revealed that baseline and early temporal changes in SMI and VAT were not independent prognostic factors regarding disease-free survival in Asian patients undergoing surgery for breast cancer.

        활나물 부위별 추출물의 항산화 활성 비교

        활나물의 항산화 효과를 측정하기 위하여 잎, 줄기, 뿌리 및 종자의 부위별로 분리하여 methylen chloride와 ethanol 혼합용매에 의해 추출하였다. 활나물의 부위로 추출수율은 줄기 4.47%, 잎 3.95%, 종자 2.90%, 뿌리 2.67%의 순으로 줄기 부분의 추출수율이 가장 높았다. 총 페놀성 화합물 함량은 잎 2.98, 뿌리 2.34, 종자 2.26, 줄기 2.11 ㎎/mL로 잎추출물에서 가장 높았다. SOD 유사활성은 잎 추출물의 활성이 86.27%로 가장 높았으며, 줄기와 뿌리 추출물은 각각 56.32, 50.29%이었으며, 종자 추출물은 경우 16.82%로 가장 낮았다. 잎, 줄기, 뿌리 추출물의 SOD 유사활성은 천연항산화제인 tocopherol보다 매우 높았다. 활나물 부위별 추출물의 전자공여능은 잎과 줄기 추출물에서 각각 16.87, 16.06%로 매우 높았으며, 뿌리 추출물과 종자 추출물이 각각 11.13, 9.31%로 tocopherol 9.28%보다 높았다. 활나물 부위별 추출물에 대한 hydroxy radical 소거활성은 잎 추출물에서 42.90%로 가장 높게 나타났고, 줄기, 종자, 뿌리 추출물은 각각 41.03, 37.80, 37.62%이었으며, 천연항산화제인 tocopherol 32.38%이 가장 낮은 결과를 보여주었다. 종자 추출물의 hydrogen radical 소거능이 53.51%로 가장 높게 나타났으며, tocopherol의 53.81%와 비슷한 활성 수준을 보여 주었다. 따라서 활나물 부위별 추출물의 항산화 효과를 측정한 결과 잎 추출물이 가장 항산화 활성이 높았으며, 활나물은 천연항산화제로의 개발 가능성이 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. This study was carried to develop the new functional food material by exploring natural antioxidant substances of Crotalaria sessiflora L. We compared antioxidative activity of potential antioxidant substances extracted from Crotalaria sessiflora L. The order of extract yield of Crotalaria sessiflora L. were stem>leaves> seed>root. Antioxidative activities of Crotalaria sessiflora L. were measured by total polyphenol contents, EDA (electron donating activity), SOD (superoxide dismutase)-like activity, hydroxyl radical scavenging ability and hydrogen peroxide radical scavenging ability. Total polyphenol acid content was much higher in leaves Ex than other extracts. And leaves Ex showed the most excellent antioxidative activity (86.27%) in terms of SOD-like activity. The EDA was ordered leaves Ex>stem Ex>seed Ex>root Ex. Hydroxy radical scavenging ability was the most effective in leaves Ex, and hydorogen peroxide radical scavenging ability was the highest in seed Ex. Therefore we could be certain that leaves Ex was the most effective in antioxidative activity from Crotalaria sessiflora L.
