Wei Zhu,Jingjing Wang 위기관리 이론과 실천 2016 위기관리 이론과 실천 세미나발표논문집 Vol.2016 No.-

Critical infrastructure is the basis for normal operation and healthy development of the city. With the correlation and dependence between critical infrastructures increasingly strengthened, critical infrastructure disasters often bring huge economic losses and serious social impact, and improving emergency response capacity of critical infrastructure has become an important prerequisite for protecting normal operation of the city. With the critical infrastructure as the object of research, based on the correlation feature of critical infrastructure, this paper analyzes the characteristics of scenario construction of critical infrastructure from malleability, influence objects and duration, and presents the method of scenario construction of critical infrastructure, then puts forward an idea of emergency capacity evaluation from three dimensions of accuracy, sufficiency and timeliness. At last, this paper applies the common method to gas multi-gate station incident scenario, which verifies the feasibility of this method.

Optimization design and dynamic stability analysis of 3-DOF cable-driven parallel robot with an elastic telescopic rod

        Wei Zhu,Jiahong Liu,Kuanxiang Shi,Fei Qi,Huiping Shen,Zhu Xu,Zhilong Ma 대한기계학회 2022 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.36 No.9

This paper proposes a three degree-of-freedoms (DOFs) cable-driven parallel robot (CDPR), which is actuated by three groups of parallel cables and tensioned by an elastic telescopic rod with a passive spring. Firstly, the architecture of the robot is briefly illustrated with emphasis on the three parallelogram arrangements of the cables and composition of elastic telescopic rod structure. This robot has larger workspace and greater tension than previous under-constrained CDPRs. Secondly, the kinematic and dynamic models of the robot are established. On this basis, the parameters of the spring installed in the telescopic rod are optimized and determined considering both the acceleration and cable force through using the differential evolution (DE) algorithm. Thirdly, dynamic stability analysis of the robot under impulsive disturbances is performed according to the Gauss principle of least constraint (GPLC). The results of a simulation case show that this robot has better dynamic stability in comparison with conventional under-constraint CDPR because of the presence of the elastic telescopic rod. The measurement results in the workspace are obtained through dynamic simulation. Finally, the experiments are performed based on numerical simulation. The feasibility of the CDPR is verified via the experiments and simulations.

Arabidopsis thaliana Metallothionein, AtMT2a, Mediates ROS Balance during Oxidative Stress

        Wei Zhu,Dong-Xiao Zhao,Qing Miao,Tong-Tong Xue,Xin-Zheng Li,Cheng-Chao Zheng 한국식물학회 2009 Journal of Plant Biology Vol.52 No.6

Cold stress has been shown to induce the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which can elicit a potentially damaging oxidative burden on cellular metabolism. Here, the expression of a metallothionein gene (AtMT2a) was upregulated under low temperature and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) stresses. The Arabidopsis T-DNA insertion mutant, mt2a, exhibited more sensitivity to cold stress compared to WT plants during the seed germination, and H2O2 levels in mt2a mutant were higher than that in WT plants during the cold stress. Synthetic GFP fused to AtMT2a was observed to be localized in cytosol. These results indicated that AtMT2a functions in tolerance against cold stress by mediating the ROS balance in the cytosol. Interestingly, mRNA level of AtMT2a was increased in seedlings of Arabidopsis cat2 mutant after cold treatment compared to WT seedlings, and overexpression of AtMT2a in cat2 could improve CAT activity under chilling stress. Moreover, the enzymatic activity of CAT in mt2a was higher than that in WT plants after cold treatment, suggesting that AtMT2a and CAT might complement each other in antioxidative process potentially in Arabidopsis. Taken together, our results provided a novel insight into the relationship between MTs and antioxidative enzymes in the ROS-scavenging system in plants.

AUGMENTING WFIRST MICROLENSING WITH A GROUND-BASED TELESCOPE NETWORK

Wei Zhu,Andrew Gould 한국천문학회 2016 Journal of The Korean Astronomical Society Vol.49 No.3

Augmenting the Wide Field Infrared Survey Telescope ({\it WFIRST}) microlensing campaigns with intensive observations from a ground-based network of wide-field survey telescopes would have several major advantages. First, it would enable full two-dimensional (2-D) vector microlens parallax measurements for a substantial fraction of low-mass lenses as well as planetary and binary events that show caustic crossing features. For a significant fraction of the free-floating planet (FFP) events and all caustic-crossing planetary/binary events, these 2-D parallax measurements directly lead to complete solutions (mass, distance, transverse velocity) of the lens object (or lens system). For even more events, the complementary ground-based observations will yield 1-D parallax measurements. Together with the 1-D parallaxes from \wfirst~alone, they can probe the entire mass range $M\gtrsim M_\oplus$. For luminous lenses, such 1-D parallax measurements can be promoted to complete solutions (mass, distance, transverse velocity) by high-resolution imaging. This would provide crucial information not only about the hosts of planets and other lenses, but also enable a much more precise Galactic model. Other benefits of such a survey include improved understanding of binaries (particularly with low mass primaries), and sensitivity to distant ice-giant and gas-giant companions of \emph{WFIRST} lenses that cannot be detected by \emph{WFIRST} itself due to its restricted observing windows. Existing ground-based microlensing surveys can be employed if \emph{WFIRST} is pointed at lower-extinction fields than is currently envisaged. This would come at some cost to the event rate. Therefore the benefits of improved characterization of lenses must be weighed against these costs.

5-Formylhonokiol exerts anti-angiogenesis activity via inactivating the ERK signaling pathway

        Wei Zhu,Lijuan Chen,Afu Fu,Jia Hu,Tianen Wang,Youfu Luo,Ming Peng,Yinghua Ma,Yuquan Wei 생화학분자생물학회 2011 Experimental and molecular medicine Vol.43 No.3

Our previous report has demonstrated that 5-formylhonokiol (FH), a derivative of honokiol (HK), exerts more potent anti-proliferative activities than honokiol in several tumor cell lines. In present study, we first explored the antiangiogenic activities of 5-formylhonokiol on proliferation, migration and tube formation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) for the first time in vitro. Then we investigated the in vivo antiangiogenic effect of 5-formylhonokiol on zebrafish angiogenesis model. In order to clarify the underlying molecular mechanism of 5-formylhonokiol, we investigated the signaling pathway involved in controlling the angiogenesis process by western blotting assay. Wound-healing results showed that 5-formylhonokiol significantly and dose-dependently inhibited migration of cultured human umbilical vein enthothelial cells. The invasiveness of HUVEC cells was also effectively suppressed at a low concentration of 5-formylhonokiol in the transwell assay. Further F-actin imaging revealed that inhibitory effect of 5-formylhonokiol on invasion may partly contribute to the disruption of assembling stress fiber. Tube formation assay, which is associated with endothelial cells migration, further confirmed the anti-angiogenesis effect of 5-formylhonokiol. In in vivo zebrafish angiogenesis model, we found that 5-formylhonokiol dose-dependently inhibited angiogenesis. Furthermore, western blotting showed that 5-formylhonokiol significantly down-regulated extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) expression and inhibited the phosphorylation of ERK but not affecting the total protein kinase B (Akt)expression and related phosphorylation, suggesting that 5-formylhonokiol might exert anti-angiogenesis capacity via down-regulation of the ERK signal pathway. Taken together, these data suggested that 5-formylhonokiol might be a viable drug candidate in antiangiogenesis and anticancer therapies.

      • Collective synchronization of the multi-component Gross–Pitaevskii–Lohe system

        Bao, Weizhu,Ha, Seung-Yeal,Kim, Dohyun,Tang, Qinglin Elsevier 2019 Physica. D, Nonlinear phenomena Vol.400 No.-

Abstract

In this paper, we propose a multi-component Gross–Pitaevskii–Lohe (GPL for brevity) system in which quantum units interact with each other such that collective behaviors can emerge asymptotically. We introduce several sufficient frameworks leading to complete and practical synchronizations in terms of system parameters and initial data. For the modeling of interaction matrices we classify them into three types (fully identical, weakly identical and heterogeneous) and present emergent behaviors correspond to each interaction matrix. More precisely, for the fully identical case in which all components are same, we expect the emergence of the complete synchronization with exponential convergence rate. On the other hand for the remaining two interaction matrices, we can only show that the practical synchronization occurs under well-prepared initial frameworks. For instance, we assume that a coupling strength is sufficiently large and perturbation of an interaction matrix is sufficiently small. Regarding the practical synchronization estimates, due to the possible blow-up of a solution at infinity, we a priori assume that the L 4 -norm of a solution is bounded on any finite time interval. In our analytical estimates, two-point correlation function approach will play a key role to derive synchronization estimates. We also provide several numerical simulations using time splitting Crank–Nicolson spectral method and compare them with our analytical results.

Highlights

Proposing a multi-component Gross–Pitaevskii–Lohe system which exhibits possible quantum synchronization phenomenon.

Emergence of both synchronous behavior and periodic motion due to the identical and trapping harmonic potential.

Presentation of sufficient conditions leading to the complete and practical synchronizations.

Providing several numerical examples which support our theoretical results.

Sedimentary Records of the Dramatic Environmental Changes in the Lingdingyang Bay of the Pearl River Estuary in Southern China

        Zeng Weizhu,Zheng Zhaoyong,Zhang Cuiping,Zhou Peng 한국해양과학기술원 2023 Ocean science journal Vol.58 No.2

To understand the spatial distribution and vertical evolution of sediments in the Pearl River Estuary in recent decades, two sediment cores (80 cm long) from the western and eastern areas of the outer Lingdingyang Bay (LDB) were analyzed in terms of grain size (GZs) and organic matter content. The results showed that the sediment profiles of the two cores could be divided into two time sections with clear changes in grain size. The core in the western region showed a coarse-to-fine trend from the lower to the upper section, whereas that in the eastern region showed a fine-to-coarse trend. Parametric correlations of the cores suggest that different sediment sources and hydrodynamic environments resulted in opposite sediment trends in the two cores. Based on some reported sedimentation rates, the GZs of the western and eastern cores responded well to changes in the average annual fluvial sediment load and tidal range in the western and eastern areas of the LDB, respectively. The increase in grain size and decrease in sorting value in the upper section of the two cores can provide evidence of a strengthened tidal current in recent years. Our results can provide a baseline for future studies on the responses of marine environment to anthropogenic activities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The Phylotype of Thermus from the Rehai Geothermal Area, Tengchong, China

        ChunleiGuo,TaoWang,WeiZhu,DonghuaZhang,XiaolongCui,LihuaXu,QianPeng 한국미생물학회 2003 The journal of microbiology Vol.41 No.2

Through enrichment on two nutrient agars, 57 Thermus isolates were recovered from 15 hot spring samples taken from the Rehai geothermal area, Tengchong, China. Unique growth characteristics were observed when the strains were transferred from YIM14 medium to Thermus medium. Phylogenetic analysis showed that the 16S rDNA sequences of the isolates and clones from the Rehai geothermal area formed a monophyletic group on the phylogenetic tree. A secondary structure comparison showed that their 16S rRNAs have unique secondary structure characteristics.
