        Conducting Polymer was obtained by the modification of PAN4VP-Cu(Ⅱ) complex with iodine in acetone. The properties such as morphology, IR-spectrum, thermal degradation, catalytic activity, moisture regain, dye adsorption, tensile strength and favorable conditions for preparing the conducting polymer complex were investigated. Electrical conductivity was measured by changing the concentration of cupric salts and reation time. The experimental results are as follows: 1) The pH condition for the formation of PAN4VP complex was in the range from 10 to 11. 2) The morphology of PAN4VP-Cu(Ⅱ) complex and Cu S-PAN4VP was more compact than that of PAN4VP. 3) The catalytic activity of PAN4VP-Cu(Ⅱ) complex in dicomposition of hydrogen peroxide was affected by concentration of CuCl₂and reaction time, and was increased with their rises. 4) Maximum value of electrical condustivity of PAN4VP-Cu(Ⅱ) complex was 5.5×10Ω㎝ When modified with iodine in acetone, and that of CuxS-PAN4VP was 1.2×10Ω㎝ at the 40g/ℓ concentration of cupric sulfate. 5) Moisture regain of Cu S-PAN4VP was decreased by the introducing of Cu S, but dye adsorption was not decreased.

        We have encountered a rare case of symmetrical peripheral gangrene complicating Escherichia coli sepsis in a 47-years-old male. He was successfully treated with antibiotics, anticoagulants, and vasodilator. To our knowledge, this is the first report on symmetrical peripheral gangrene complicating E. coli sepsis in Korea.

        This study describes liquid-solid extraction for the adsorption of organic compounds from aqueous solution by using XAD-2 resin. The adsorption behaviors of organic compounds on XAD-2 resin have been investigated. As a result, the following conclution have been obtained. 1. The adsorption behaviors of aromatic compounds on Amberlite XAD-2 are caused by van der waals attraction between the organic molecule and XAD-2 resin matrix. 2. The adsorption on XAD-2 are influenced by the following factors: 1) Shaking time, 2) Concentration of organic solvent added, 3) Polarity and position of substituted groups in an organic molecule, 4) Ionization constant of organic molecule, 5) Molecular weight of organic sample, 6) pH value of medium.

      • 성인 서혜부탈장의 임상적 고찰

        This report is a clinical analysis and study of 48 cases of adult inguinal hernias who were admitted and treated at the Department of Surgery, Chungnam National University Hospital from October 1983 to September 1987 and the results were as follows: 1. The age distribution was most prevalent over 51 years(62.5%), and the ratio between male and female was 23: 1. 2. Indirect type was noted in 37 cases(77.1%), direct type in 7 cases (14.6%), and combined type in 4 cases(8.3%). 3. Inguinal hernia found on the right side in 34 cases(70.8%), left side in 11 cases(22.9) , and bilateral in 3 cases(6.3%). 4. The cardinal symptoms and signs were bulging on the inguinal region (100.0%), and scrotal swelling(43.8%). 5. Incarcerated hernia was noted in 6 cases(12.5%), strangulation in 1 case(2. 1%), and hydrocele was combined in 5 cases(l0.4%). 6. 35 cases(72.9%) of all hernias were repaired by Bassini method, and 13 cases(27.1%) by McVay method. 7. Sliding hernia accounted for 16.7% of all cases. Urinary bladder, cecum, and sigmoid colon were involved. 8. The average duration of postoperative hospitalization was 7 days. 9. The postoperative complications were noted in 2 cases(4.2%), and there was no recurrence after herniorrhaphy.

      • HM7 세포 표면 점액이 국소침윤 및 전이에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

        Mucinous colorectal cancers have a poorer prognosis than which colorectal cancer produce low amount of mucin, but the exact mechanism is not well understood. The present study was undertaken to elucidate the exact mechanism of invasion and metastasis of high mucin producing colon cancer cells using mucin glycosylation inhibitor, benzyl-a-N-acetylgalactosamine. Materials and Methods: To evaluate the effect of glycosylated mucin on invasion and metastasis, in vitro invasion, metalloproteinases(MMPs) activity, cell-matrix protein binding, cell-cell aggregation, as well as endothelial leukocyte adhesion molecule(ELAM-1) binding and cell surface expression of various mucin related antigens were analyzed. Results: MMPs activity in conditioned medium and invasion of ECM-coated porous filters by benzyl-a-GalNAc treated HM7 cells were decreased. There was no difference between control and treated HM7 cells in terms of matrix protein binding assay, but treated HM7 cells showed higher homotypic cell adhesion. The binding activity of treated HM7 cells to ELAM-1 was significantly decreased and fixed cell binding of MoAb SNH-3, 19-9(specific for sialyl-Lewis X and sialy-Lewis A) were also significantly decreased. Conclusion: These results suggest that glycosylated mucin modulates ELAM-1 binding, MMPs activity and homotypic cell adhesion, therefore enhance invasive and metastatic properties of human colon cancer cells.

        유전체 충전형 플라즈마 반응기를 이용한 Trichloroethylene의 분해반응

        유전체 충전형 플라즈마 반응기를 이용하여 공기중 trichloroethylene (TCE)의 분해반응에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 방전전력, 체류시간 및 반응물 유입농도 등과 같은 여러 가지 운전변수에 따른 TCE의분해효율을 조사하고, 반응 부산물의 분석을 통하여 TCE 분해 반응 메커니즘을 제시하였다. 실험결과 방전전력 및 체류시간이 증가함에 따라 TCE 분해효율은 증가하였으나 유입농도의 변화에 대한 영향은 거의 없었다. BaTiO_3를 충전한 반응기가 알루미나를 충전한 반응기보다 분해효율이 높았으나 TCE의 완전 산화분해의척도가 되는 CO_x(CO+CO_2)의 수율 및 CO_2의 선택도는 BaTiO_3를 충전한 반응기보다 알루미나를 충전한 반응기가 월등하게 높았다. 반응생성물 분석결과 주반응 생성물은 CO_x,CHCl_2COCl, C_2H_2Cl_2O_2및 COCl_2로 공기중 TCE의 분해 메커니즘은 주로 ClO와 OH 라디칼에 의한 반응으로 판단된다. The decompositon of trichloroethylene (TCE) in air using a ferroelectric packed-bed reactor was studied. The effects of discharge power, residence time, inlet concentration and other operating conditions on the decomposition efficiency were investigated and the analysis of reaction products was conducted to suggest the mechanism of TCE decomposition. Experimental results showed that the decomposition efficiency of TCE increased with increasing discharge power and residence time but was unaffected by inlet concentration. The decomposition efficiency for BaTiO_3 packed reactor was higher than that for alumina packed reactor, but the yield of CO_x(CO+CO_2) and selectivity of CO_2 as the measure of the complete oxidation of TCE were higher in alumina packed reactor. The main products of TCE decomposition were CO_x,CHCl_2COCl, C_2H_2Cl_2O_2 and COCl_2. On the basis of the results, it is inferred that the decomposition of TCE in air proceeds by OH and CIO radical reaction mechanism.

      • Cimetidine製劑의 分析方法에 관한 考察

        The results on the analysis of cimetidine tablets and injections by UV determination, colorimetric determination and HPLC determination are as follows; 1. Cimetidine tablet can be easily made by wet granulation method and diluents in core tablets and film coating tablet do not interfere with analysis. 2. Cimetidine injections are made by aseptic manipulation or autoclaving. When they are adjusted approximately to pH 6.0 because they are stable under the strong acidic condition, they have high stability without the performance of complicated aseptic manipulation 3. UV determination shows more stable absorption spectrum by the Me-OH than by the 0.01-HCL as a solvent. It can be considered as a desirable quantitative analysis for cimetidine material. 4. Colorimetric derermination shows much better results by the BCG dye than by BTB dye. BCG dye doesn't be affected by diluents in tablets and preservatives in injections. 5. HPLC determination using the μBondapak C_18 column can be used for the quantitative analysis of cimetidine preparations. It shows the peak of main component in 1 minute after injection of sample. Compared with other analytical methods, HPLC determination is recognized as a desirable analytical method because of its high representation and short time for measuring the content uniformity in cimetidine preparations.

      • Acetonitrile-Methyl alcohol 혼합용매중에서 β-phenylethyl ρ-chlorobenzenesulfonate와 Aniline과의 반응속도 연구

        The reactions of β-phenylethyl p-chlorobenzene sulfonate with aniline have been studied in acetonitrile-methyl alcohol by conductometric method. The temperature of reaction were 45℃, 50℃, 55℃ and the activation thermodynamic parameters were evaluated. In results, the rates of reaction were increased with MeOH content. The isokinetic relationship was shown ΔH^≠ and ΔS^≠ its temperature was 293.1°K It was also found that the specific solvent effects were more important than the bulky solvent effect in the rate of reaction.
