In this study, the manufacturing of sintered bricks from clay and red mud was presented. The initial materials and obtainedbricks were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscope(TEM), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), and differential scanning calorimetry-thermal gravimetry (DSC-TG). The compressivestrength, water absorption, bulk density and sintering shrinkage of sintered bricks were performed. The effects of componentsof raw materials, sintering temperature and time on physico-mechanical properties of the products was investigated. Theresults showed that the bricks prepared at 1000 oC for 1 hr with raw material containing up to 50% of red mud providedexcellent physico-mechanical properties. The obtained brick met the Vietnam standard VS1451-1998 and was satisfied theconstruction material requirements that were safe to human’s health and friendly with environment in terms of alkalineleaching and radioactivity indexes.

Six known compounds including α-amyrin 3-acetate (1), β-sitosterol (2), betulinic acid (3), friedelan-3-one (4),artochamin B (5), and 2-C-methyl-D-erythritol 4-O-α-D-glucopyranoside (6) were isolated from the stem barks and leaves of Artocarpus nigrifolius (Moraceae) for the first time. Their structures were identified by spectroscopic methods as well as comparison with literatures. Cytotoxicity and antibacterial activity of 1-6 were evaluated. Results showed that artochamin B (5)possessed the highest cytotoxicity towards MCF7, Lu, HepG2,and KB cell lines with IC50 values of 4.59, 20.00, 3.60, and 1.18μg/mL, respectively. It also inhibited the growth of Gram-positive bacteria (Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus), whereas inactive on the growth of both Gram-negative bacteria and yeast.

The stock market shows the current health of an economy, and investment performance represents it. This study aims to clarify the relationship between financial behavior and investment decisions as well as its impact on investment results. Determine the influence of behavioral factors on individual investors' investment decisions and investment performance on the Vietnam stock market. The study surveyed 250 investors. The main analytical methods used are Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Research results show that Heuristic, Prospect, Market, and Herding directly and positively affect investment decision-making. Besides, the above factors have a direct and positive effect on investment performance. In particular, the Prospect factor has the strongest influence on investment decision-making and investment performance. The major findings of this study suggested that the important role of Heuristic, Prospect, Market, and Herding on Investment Decision-making and Investment Performance. Prospect had the strongest impact on Investment decision-making (β = 0.275). Heuristic had the second strongest impact (β = 0.257), then Herding (β = 0.202), and finally Market (β = 0.189) had the weakest effect. Regarding Investment Performance, the Prospect factor has a higher degree of impact than Heuristic Herding and Market.

Travel and tourism are performing significant important roles in Vietnam, this industry has gradually been a critical sector of the economy. As a result, understanding the ability to perform of firms in this industry helps to ensure the sustainable growth of Vietnamese travel and tourism industry. In this study, the researcher suggests a combined method including a grey model (GM) and a Malmquist productivity index (MPI) to evaluate the abilities to perform of travel and tourism Vietnamese for some past periods. After gathering the data for 14 Vietnamese travel and tour-ism firms over the four-year period of 2015–2018, the research applies GM to estimate values of selected input and output factors for the 14 Vietnamese travel and tourism firms in two next years 2019 and 2020. Then, one MPI model is employed to evaluate the performance of those firms in past years and next two years from forecasted val-ues by GM. The MPI indexes reveal several firms will get higher efficiency, while others will get lower efficiency in the future. This integrated numerical research provides past–present–future insights for decision-makers to maintain sus-tainable development of travel and tourism industry in Vietnam by performance analysis.

In this paper, a space vector pulse-width modulation (SVPWM) control scheme for the three-level quasi-switched boost T-type inverter (TL-qSBT2I) to reduce common mode is presented. The magnitude and slew rate of common-mode voltage (CMV) are reduced by using the proposed method. By properly selecting the shoot-through (ST) phase, the ST states are inserted within a small vector so that the active states and output voltage are unchanged. In this method, the ST duty cycle is kept constant to obtain the modulation index as high as possible while the duty cycles of the two additional switches are the control variables. The proposed method can mitigate the peak value of CMV up to 50% and the RMS value up to 35.3% as compared to the conventional SVPWM control method. To verify the operating principle of the TL-qSBT2I, the simulation and experimental results are shown.

The effect of temperature and influent alkalinity/ammonia (K/A) ratio on the start-up of the partial nitrification (PN) process for an activated sludge-based domestic wastewater treatment was studied. Two different sequence batch reactors (SBR) were operated at 26 °C and 32 °C. The relationship between temperature and the concentration of free ammonia (FA) and free acid nitrite (FNA) was investigated. A stable PN process was achieved in the 32 °C reactor when the influent ammonium concentration was lower than 150 mg-N/L. In contrast, the PN process in the 26 °C reactor had a higher nitrite accumulation rate (NAR) and ammonium removal efficiency (ARE) when the influent ammonia concentration was increased to more than 150 mg-N/L. Then three different ranges of the K/A ratio were applied to an SBR reactor. In the K/A range of 2.48~1.65, the SBR reactor achieved the highest NAR ratio (75.78%). This ratio helps to achieve the appropriate level of alkalinity to maintain a stable pH and provide a sufficient amount of inorganic carbon source for the activity of microorganisms. At the same time, FA and FNA values also reached the threshold to inhibit nitrite-oxidizing bacteria (NOB) without a significant effect on ammonia-oxidizing bacteria (AOB). Results showed that the control of temperature and K/A ratio during the start-up period may be important in establishing a stable and steady PN process for the treatment of domestic wastewater.
