The manufacturing of sintered bricks from clay and red mud derived from the alumina processing plant
Ngoc Tuyen Tran,Duc Vu Quyen Nguyen,Van Minh Hai Ho,Xuan Tin Dang,Ngoc Quang Tran 한양대학교 청정에너지연구소 2017 Journal of Ceramic Processing Research Vol.18 No.5
In this study, the manufacturing of sintered bricks from clay and red mud was presented. The initial materials and obtainedbricks were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscope(TEM), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), and differential scanning calorimetry-thermal gravimetry (DSC-TG). The compressivestrength, water absorption, bulk density and sintering shrinkage of sintered bricks were performed. The effects of componentsof raw materials, sintering temperature and time on physico-mechanical properties of the products was investigated. Theresults showed that the bricks prepared at 1000 oC for 1 hr with raw material containing up to 50% of red mud providedexcellent physico-mechanical properties. The obtained brick met the Vietnam standard VS1451-1998 and was satisfied theconstruction material requirements that were safe to human’s health and friendly with environment in terms of alkalineleaching and radioactivity indexes.

Abstract

In recent years, many applications in natural language processing (NLP) have been developed using the machine learning approach. Annotating data is an important task in applying machine learning to NLP applications. A common approach to improve the system performance is to train on a large and high-quality set of training data that is annotated by experts. Besides, active learning (AL) and self-learning can be utilized to reduce the annotation costs. The self-learning method discovers highly reliable instances based on a trained classifier, while AL queries the most informative instances based on active query algorithms. This paper proposes a method that combines AL and self-learning to reduce the labeling effort for the named entity recognition task from tweet streams by using both machine-labeled and manually-labeled data. We employ AL queries based on the diversity of the context and content of instances to select the most informative instances. The conditional random fields are also chosen as an underlying model to train a classifier for selecting highly reliable instances. The experiments using Twitter data show that the proposed method achieves good results in reducing the human labeling effort, and it can significantly improve the performance of the systems.

Synthesis and iNOS Inhibitory Activities of Thioflavones
Tran Thanh Dao,Truong Ngoc Tuyen,Haeil Park 대한약학회 2005 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.28 No.6
A number of thioflavones has been synthesized and evaluated for their iNOS inhibitory activities. Thiowogonin (6) was obtained from naturally occurring chrysin in 5 steps. Other thioflavones were prepared from the corresponding flavones in a single step by the reaction with Lawesson’s reagent. The biological activities of thioflavones were not enhanced by the functional group conversion from carbonyl to thiocarbonyl. Compounds 11 and 13 showed potent NO inhibitory activity at high concentration (40 uM), leading to the possible development of novel neuroprotective agents based on wogonin.

On the properties of positive Boolean dependencies by groups in the database model of block form
Trinh Ngoc Truc,Trinh Dinh Thang,Tran Minh Tuyen 한국전산응용수학회 2022 Journal of applied mathematics & informatics Vol.40 No.3
The article proposed a new type of data relationship: Positive Boolean dependencies by groups on block and slice in the database model of block form, where instead of considering value pairs, we consider a group of p values ({p \geq 2}). From this new concept, the article stated and demonstrated the equivalence of the three types of deduction, namely: deduction by logic, deduction by block with groups, deduction by block has no more than p elements with groups. Operations on blocks or slices performed for index attributes on blocks, the properties related to this new concept as theorem the equivalen of the three types of deduction, closure of set positive Boolean dependencies by groups and representation and tight representation set of positive Boolean dependencies by groups when the block degenerated into relation are true in the relational database model and also stated and proven in this paper.
Development of an AI Chatbot to Support Admissions and Career Guidance for Universities

The vocational guidance and advising education enrollment are one of the most important tasks in the enrollment process and promote the quality and reputation of the University. Admissions counseling offices at Universities and Colleges play a major role in vocational guidance and advising education enrollment. However, the support of these units is limited by office hours, speed and advisory efficiency, and besides, handling and answering questions process may also encounter obstacles such as: overload, misinformation, problem with the transmission, language barriers, expressions, limited time, support resources,… Thus we decided to do research to understand this situation. Then creating a dataset supports vocational guidance and advising education enrollment activities. We also design and integrate chatbot into the school system to support the admissions counseling process.

Although non-viral vectors are relatively safe, they have very low gene transfection efficiency, especially in pancreatic islet cells. To provide information on the use of non-viral vectors for transfecting genes into pancreatic islet cells, a comparative evaluation of non-viral options was performed. In vitro experiments were used to compare the transfection efficiency of three classes of non-viral vectors: Effectene, polyethylenimine (PEI, 25 kDa) and hemagglutinating virus of Japan-envelope (HVJ-E), into insulinoma cells (INS-1) and rat islets. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) gene with hypoxia-inducible RTP801 promoter was delivered into rat islets with Effectene and VEGF secretion under hypoxia was measured in the culture media. Luciferase activity and GFP assays indicated that Effectene exhibited the highest transfection efficiency, and HVJ-E was not suitable for transfection into pancreatic beta-cells. The cytotoxicity of Effectene was found to be similar to that of 25-kDa PEI by 7-amino actinomycin D (7-AAD) flow cytometry and acridine orange/propidium iodide (AO/PI) assays. When RTP801 promoter-VEGF plasmid was delivered to rat islets with Effectene, VEGF secretion increased specifically in islets under hypoxia. In conclusion, Effectene showed higher gene-delivery efficiency for pancreatic islets compared with other classes of non-viral delivery systems and is promising as a gene delivery agent for pretransplant ex vivo gene therapy of islets.
