Hematological value were determined from 140 Fasciola gigantica infested and 138 non-infested apparently healthy (control) zebu cattle from eight different sites of Bangladesh. The F. gigantica infested cattle have experienced of normocytic normochromic anemia indicated by the significant (p<0.01) decline of total erythrocyte count, hemoglobin level, packed cell volume and mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration and significant (p<0.01) increase of erythrocyte sedimentation rate, as compared with non-infested control animals. Values of mean corpuscular volume and mean corpuscular hemoglobin content were not differed significantly between the infested and control animals. There observed significantly (p<0.01) higher eosinophil and neutrophil counts and significantly (p<0.01) lower lymphocyte counts in fasciola infested cattle in comparison with the control animals.

Sponge-gourd (SG) natural fibers obtained from Luffa cylindrica plant were chemically treated separately using alkali (5, 10, and 15 wt%), acetic anhydride (5, 10, and 15 wt%), and benzoyl chloride (5, 10, and 15 wt%). Both untreated and chemically treated SG fibers (SGFs) were subsequently characterized using a field emission scanning electronmicroscope, a Fourier transform infrared spectrometer, an X-ray diffractometer, a universal testing machine, and a thermogravimetric analyzer. Surface analysis by scanning electron microscopy shows that the alkali treatments promote better outer surface layer than other treatments of the SGF with the exposition of inner fibrillar structure, thereby increasing roughness of the fiber surface. Alkali treatment also improves the crystallinity and exhibits new chemical bond formation inthe SGF. The tensile strength and Young’s modulus have been analyzed through a two-parameter Weibull distribution model, where a significant increase in mechanical property of benzoylated fibers has been observed. The thermal stability of the modified fibers is also found to increase by acetic anhydride treatment.

The current research explores the transformative potential of Design Thinking (DT) pedagogy in Higher Sustainability Education (HSE) in a hybrid (mix of online and face-to-face) setting. The case study examined a Field Exercise in Sustainability Science (FESS) course, using DT pedagogy, in a HSE program at a university in Japan. The critical transformative learning experiences (i.e., signs of transformative learning) were captured to investigate whether DT pedagogy has allowed learners to challenge their perspectives and go through the transformative learning experience. The qualitative case study captures the critical transformative learning experiences by collecting students’ perspectives through semi-structured interviews, reflections, and class observations. As a result, the research successfully captured the signs of transformative learning, where each student went through multidimensional and embodied transformative experiences. Furthermore, the results show how DT as a pedagogy can support transformative learning in HSE by encouraging disorienting dilemmas, promoting reflection and discourse, fostering relationships, providing context, and offering an engaging experience. DT as a pedagogy can bring transformative learning into practice in HSE, and it can be implemented effectively using a digital or hybrid learning approach without a need for complex structural changes. The paper can provide concrete lessons for practice and curriculum development to bring transformative learning into digital teaching practice in HSE.
An Integrated Low Temperature Approach for the Synthesis of Titania via Sol-Gel process

<P> Colloidal titania particles with nanosize size distribution were prepared via sol-gel process by using oxo-titanium alkoxide as a molecular precursor. The transformation from oxo-titanium alkoxide to metal oxide was studied by IR, UV, thermal analysis, X-ray and TEM. TEM and XRD techniques were used to characterize the microstructure and crystallite morphology. The experimental results show that the titania has a good crystallinity with a particle size (5 nm), shape and with favorable surface morphology. These results support that titania has strong implications for the interaction between the oleic acid used as surfactant and Ti nanoparticle to enhance the stability with controlled functional properties.</P>

The United States and its international coalition partners are set to completely withdraw their troops from Afghanistan by September 11, 2021. Following the Doha Agreement between the US and the Taliban, fierce fighting has ensued in Afghanistan between the Taliban and the government forces. Amid all the violence and instability in the country, there is a high probability that extremist and terrorist organisations like ETIM might resurface and re-initiate their terror campaigns in the region. Such developments in the region pose a grave threat to regional states (particularly Pakistan and China), their development, economic and commercial, political, strategic and national interests along with threats to their respective societies. This research paper will try to give an overview of the contemporary situation in the region, organisational profile and current state of ETIM (the group in focus for this study) and analyse the threats posed by ETIM to the cooperation between Pakistan and China.
