        『江海乘槎錄』의 書誌事項과 唱和紀俗에 대하여

        金聲振(Kim Sungjin) 동양한문학회(구 부산한문학회) 2008 동양한문학연구 Vol.26 No.-

This study is on Kanghaeseungsarok, which was the journal of drifting written by Choi Duchan, who was repatriated home via Zhejiang(浙江) and Beijing(北京), Shandong(山東) after drifting off the shore of Cheju Island and being cast away on Ningbo(寧波). The record of travel to China was mainly about the mood-trip itinerary to and experience in Beijing. Kanghaeseungsarok"s main contents are the sharing of writings and poems in fellowship with learned men in the Gangnam area, and experiences acquired while traveling there. Therefore, it has a complementary meaning with other journals of travel to China, along with Choi Bu"s Keumnampyohaerok.<BR>  The study about Choi Bu"s Keumnampyohaerok has constantly been done in different fields for a long time, while the study about Kanghaeseungsarok has just begun. However, the records of relevant literature has not been grasped, not to mention the condition of the records, even though their condition should be studied as the prerequisite of the study on old literature. This study does a comparative analysis on the condition of the records on five kinds of "Seungsarok"(乘?錄), including three manuscripts which were not dealt in conventional studies.<BR>  Furthermore, this study finds the 「Seoogsarokseo」(乘?錄序) in Hurhoon"s Bangsanjip(舫山集) and presumes the possibility that Seungsarok, whose preface Hurhoon wrote, could have a different framework from five existent "Seungsarok".<BR>  Choi Doochan had fellowship with many learned men and shared writings and poems after being cast away on the Island of Putuo(普陀). This study shows that Sunzungang(孫曾仰) among them was the person who recommended more than one hundred books in Empire"s Prolog of Sagojunseochongmok(四庫全書總目), being mentioned as the representative book collector in Zhejiang, and also quoted in Lee Dukmoo"s Chungjanggwanjuns(靑莊館全書) It also confirms the fact that the domestic and foreign records were found about Kim Nokyong(金魯敬) and Lee Youngsoon(李永純) mentioned in Yeoak(余鍔)"s letters and Dotak(屠倬), who gave his regards to them.<BR>  This study deals with the Chinese custom which Choi Doochan picked up, repatriating home, along with the writings and poems which he shared in fellowship with the Chinese learned men. The main contents were the luxurious civil atmosphere of the Jiangnan(江南) area, the poverty of the Heobei(河北) area, a Chinese drinking culture, a custom of praying for rain, popular remedies, etc. It also reveals that paper made in Koryo was used in Shandong and he encountered two parties of drifters from Cheju Island(濟州)<BR>  Kanghaeseungsarok contains the record related to Kim Kwanghyun(金光顯), who was known for Park Saho"(朴思浩)s Tamrapyohaerok(耽羅漂海錄). Based on the re1event records, this study presumes that Kim Kwanghyun drifted not in 1828 but in 1817, contrary to the academe"s common opinions.

Abdominopelvic Actinomycosis Mimicking Peritoneal Carcinomatosis: A Case Report

        Sungjin Kim,Sung Il Kang,Sohyun Kim,Min Hye Jang,Jae Hwang Kim 대한대장항문학회 2020 Annals of Coloproctolgy Vol.36 No.6

Actinomycosis is a rare chronic bacterial infection primarily caused by <i>Actinomyces israelii</i>. A 47-year-old woman presented to our clinic with a 1-week history of lower abdominal pain. Preoperative imaging studies revealed multiple peritoneal and pelvic masses suggestive of malignancy. The primary tumor could not be identified despite further endoscopic and gynecological evaluation. On exploration for tissue confirmation, excisional biopsies from multiple masses were performed because complete excision was not possible. Histopathological examination confirmed actinomycosis with multiple abscesses, and the patient was treated with antibiotics. We present a case of disseminated peritoneal actinomycosis that mimicked malignant peritoneal carcinomatosis on imaging studies.

      • A V-Band Common-Source Low Noise Amplifier in a 0.13µm RF CMOS Technology and the Effect of Dummy Fills

        KIM, Sungjin,KIM, Hyunchul,KIM, Dong-Hyun,JEON, Sanggeun,YOON, Yeocho,RIEH, Jae-Sung The Institute of Electronics, Information and Comm 2011 IEICE transactions on electronics Vol.94e.c No.5

<P>In this work, a V-band low noise amplifier (LNA) is developed in a commercial 0.13µm RFCMOS technology. Common-source (CS) topology, known to show a better noise performance than the cascode topology, was adopted and 4-stage was employed to achieve a sufficient gain at the target frequency near the cutoff frequency <I>fT</I>. The measured gain was 18.6dB with <I>VDD</I>=1.2V and increased up to 20.2dB with <I>VDD</I>=1.8V at 66GHz. The measured NF showed a minimum value of 7.0dB at 62GHz. DC power consumption was 24mW with <I>VDD</I>=1.2V. The size of the fabricated circuit is as compact as 0.45mm × 0.69mm. This work was further extended to investigate the effect of dummy fills on LNA performance. An identical LNA, except for the dummy fills formed very close to (and under) the metal lines of spiral inductors and interconnects, was also fabricated and compared with the standard LNA. A peak gain degradation of 3.6dB and average NF degradation of 1.3dB were observed, which can be ascribed to the increased mismatch and line loss due to the dummy fills.</P>

Ginsenoside Rd inhibits the expressions of iNOS and COX-2 by suppressing NF-κB in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells and mouse liver

Kim, Dae Hyun,Chung, Jae Heun,Yoon, Ji Sung,Ha, Young Mi,Bae, Sungjin,Lee, Eun Kyeong,Jung, Kyung Jin,Kim, Min Sun,Kim, You Jung,Kim, Mi Kyung,Chung, Hae Young The Korean Society of Ginseng 2013 Journal of Ginseng Research Vol.37 No.1

Ginsenoside Rd is a primary constituent of the ginseng rhizome and has been shown to participate in the regulation of diabetes and in tumor formation. Reports also show that ginsenoside Rd exerts anti-oxidative effects by activating anti-oxidant enzymes. Treatment with ginsenoside Rd decreased nitric oxide and prostaglandin $E_2$ ($PGE_2$) in lipopolysaccharides (LPS)-challenged RAW264.7 cells and in ICR mouse livers (5 mg/kg LPS; LPS + ginsenoside Rd [2, 10, and 50 mg/kg]). Furthermore, these decreases were associated with the down-regulations of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase (COX)-2 and of nuclear factor (NF)-${\kappa}B$ activity in vitro and in vivo. Our results indicate that ginsenoside Rd treatment decreases; 1) nitric oxide production (40% inhibition); 2) $PGE_2$ synthesis (69% to 93% inhibition); 3) NF-${\kappa}B$ activity; and 4) the NF-${\kappa}B$-regulated expressions of iNOS and COX-2. Taken together, our results suggest that the anti-inflammatory effects of ginsenoside Rd are due to the down-regulation of NF-${\kappa}B$ and the consequent expressional suppressions of iNOS and COX-2.

      • Non-enzymatic electrochemical lactate sensing by NiO and Ni(OH)2 electrodes: A mechanistic investigation

        Kim, Sungjin,Kim, Kijun,Kim, Hyun-Jong,Lee, Ho-Nyun,Park, Tae Joo,Park, Young Min Elsevier 2018 ELECTROCHIMICA ACTA Vol.276 No.-

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Herein, we assessed the capabilities of NiO and Ni(OH)2 electrodes for <SMALL>L</SMALL>-lactic acid sensing and compared the performances of the corresponding non-enzymatic sensors. Specifically, NiO and Ni(OH)2 sensors showed high sensitivities, 9.08 and 35.76 μA/(mM cm2) and low detection of limit, 0.53 and 0.59 mM, respectively. Both sensors also show good selectivity and being insensitive to interferents such as <SMALL>L</SMALL>-ascorbic acid, uric acid, and dopamine. Furthermore, electrochemical characterization at variable scan rates revealed that NiO achieves faster sensing than Ni(OH)2, implying that the above electrodes exhibited different sensing mechanisms. Thus, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis confirmed that the NiO electrode inherently contained Ni3+ ions acting as active sites for lactate detection and therefore increasing the response speed, whereas Ni(OH)2 contained no Ni3+ and had to be electrochemically converted into NiOOH prior to analyte detection. Consequently, the NiO electrode provided faster and more reliable lactate sensing, thus exhibiting promising non-enzymatic lactate sensor.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Lactate sensing performances of NiO and Ni(OH)2 electrodes were probed and compared. </LI> <LI> Both sensors showed high sensitivity and selectivity, as well as low detection limits. </LI> <LI> NiO allowed faster sensing than Ni(OH)2. </LI> <LI> Electrochemical analysis reveal that NiO and Ni(OH)2 electrodes exhibited different sensing mechanisms. </LI> <LI> XPS analysis showed that NiO inherently contained Ni3+ ions, whereas Ni(OH)2 did not. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

Microbial metabolic responses and CO2 emissions differentiated by soil water content variation in subarctic tundra soils

        Kim Dockyu,Chae Namyi,Kim Mincheol,Nam Sungjin,Kim Tai Kyoung,Park Ki-Tea,Lee Bang Yong,Kim Eungbin,Lee Hyoungseok 한국미생물학회 2022 The journal of microbiology Vol.60 No.12

Recent rapid air temperature increases across the northernlatitude tundra have prolonged permafrost thawing and snow melting periods, resulting in increased soil temperature (Ts) and volumetric soil water content (SWC). Under prolonged soil warming at 8°C, Alaskan tundra soils were incubated in a microcosm system and examined for the SWC differential influence on the microbial decomposition activity of large molecular weight (MW) humic substances (HS). When one microcosm soil (AKC1-1) was incubated at a constant SWC of 41% for 90 days (T = 90) and then SWC was gradually decreased from 41% to 29% for another T = 90, the initial HS was partly depolymerized. In contrast, in AKC1-2 incubated at a gradually decreasing SWC from the initial 32% to 10% for T = 90 and then increasing to 27% for another T = 90, HS depolymerization was undetected. Overall, the microbial communities in AKC1-1 could maintain metabolic activity at sufficient and constant SWC during the initial T = 90 incubation. In contrast, AKC1-2 microbes may have been damaged by drought stress during the drying SWC regimen, possibly resulting in the loss of HS decomposition activity, which did not recover even after re-wetting to an optimal SWC range (20–40%). After T = 90, the CO2 production in both treatments was attributed to the increased decomposition of small-MW organic compounds (including aerobic HS-degradative products) within an optimal SWC range. We expect this study to provide new insights into the early effects of warming- and topography-induced SWC variations on the microbial contribution to CO2 emissions via HS decomposition in northern-latitude tundra soil.

Clinical effectiveness of omental transposition in facilitating perineal wound healing after abdominoperineal resection: a systematic review

( Sungjin Kim ),( Sung Il Kang ),( Sohyun Kim ),( Jae Hwang Kim ) 영남대학교 의과대학 2021 Yeungnam University Journal of Medicine Vol.38 No.3

Background: Omental transposition has been used to facilitate perineal wound healing in patients undergoing abdominoperineal resection (APR). However, there is no high-level evidence supporting the effectiveness of omental transposition in this regard. This study aimed to investigate the clinical efficacy of omental transposition in facilitating perineal wound healing after APR. Methods: In this systematic review, we systematically searched the PubMed/MEDLINE, Embase, Scopus, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science databases for literature regarding the topic of our study. Studies published since the inception of each database were considered for review. The outcomes of interest were the perineal wound healing rate at 1 and 3 months postoperatively, perineal wound infection rate, and perineal wound healing period. Results: Of the 1,923 studies identified, four articles representing 819 patients (omental transposition patients, n=295) were included in the final analysis. The wound healing rates at 1 and 3 months postoperatively in the omental transposition group (68.5% and 79.7%, respectively) did not significantly differ from those in the control group (57.4% and 78.7%, respectively) (p=0.759 and p=0.731, respectively). Perineal wound infection and chronic wound complication rates, including sinus, dehiscence, and fistula rates, also did not significantly differ between the omental transposition (8% and 7%, respectively) and control (11% and 7%, respectively) groups (p=0.221 and p=0.790, respectively). Conclusion: Our results suggest that omental transposition does not affect perineal wound healing in patients who undergo APR.

      • First report for the seasonal and annual prevalence of flea-borne bartonella from rodents and soricomorphs in the Republic of Korea.

        Kim, Baek-Jun,Kim, Su-Jin,Kang, Jun-Gu,Ko, Sungjin,Won, Sohyun,Kim, Hyewon,Kim, Heung-Chul,Kim, Myung-Soon,Chong, Sung-Tae,Klein, Terry A,Lee, Sanghun,Chae, Joon-Seok Mary Ann Liebert, Inc 2013 Vector borne and zoonotic diseases Vol.13 No.7

<P>Rodents and soricomorphs are animal hosts of fleas and associated zoonotic microbial pathogens. A total of 4,889 small mammals were collected from Gyeonggi and Gangwon Provinces, Republic of Korea, from 2008 through 2010, including: Apodemus agrarius (4,122, 84.3%), followed by Crocidura lasiura (282, 5.8%), Microtus fortis (257, 5.3%), Myodes regulus (77, 1.6%), Micromys minutus (71, 1.5%), Mus musculus (63, 1.3%), and 4 other species (17, 0.3%). A total of 1,099 fleas belonging to 10 species and 7 genera were collected. Ctenophthalmus congeneroides (724, 65.9%) was the most commonly collected flea, followed by Stenoponia sidimi (301, 27.4%), Neopsylla bidentatiformis (29, 2.6%), and Rhadinopsylla insolita (25, 2.3%). The remaining species accounted for only 1.8% (20, range 1-6) of all fleas collected. The 2 dominant flea species, C. congeneroides and S. sidimi, showed an inverse seasonal pattern, with higher populations of C. congeneroides from January-September, whereas S. sidimi was more frequently collected during October-December. The overall flea infestation rates (FIR) and flea indices (FI) were 14.1% and 0.22, respectively, and were highest during April-June (19.7% and 0.30, respectively). A total of 735 of the 1,099 fleas were assayed for the detection of Bartonella spp. by PCR using Bartonella-specific primers, of which 515 were positive for Bartonella, with an overall maximum likelihood estimate (MLE) of 700.7/1,000. The highest MLE values were observed during April-June (899.2) and July-September (936.2) trapping periods and, although lower, were similar for January-March (566.7) and October-December (574.1). C. congeneroides demonstrated high MLEs for all seasons (range 752.5-934.8), while S. sidimi was positive for Bartonella only during January-March (MLE=342.1) and October-December (MLE=497.2) collection periods. Continued long-term surveillance of small mammals and associated ectoparasites is needed to improve our understanding of the prevalence of Bartonella spp. in fleas and the role of fleas in the zoonotic maintenance and transmission of Bartonella to humans.</P>
