      • 항암화학요법을 받는 암 환자에 대한 Nucare^R의 영양지지효과

        Purpose : The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of nutritional support with enteral liquid supplement in cancer patients receving chemotherapy for possible benefit in nutritional, immunologic and golbal function of patients. Patients and Methods : From October 1995 to February 1997, 30 advanced cancer patients receving chemotherapy were divided two roups. The Nycare group, in addition to normal diet, Nucare^R enteral supplement was given for 1week right after chemotherapy for the duration of 2 chemotherapy cycles. Control group received only normal diet without parenteral fluid supplement for 2 chemotherapy cycles. Results : Median ages were 53 end 56 years for Nucare group and Contrl group respectively. Performance scores was less than 2 by ECOG scale. All patients were stage Ⅲ or Ⅳ. The physical parameters, such as weight, arm muscle circumference(AMC) and triceps skin fold(TSF) were decreased in both groups after 2 cycles of anticancer therapy. but it was less severe in Nucare group(p<0.05). Serum transferrin was maintained in mild deficit state in Nucare group, whereas it aggravated form mild to moderate deficit in Control group(p<0.05). Serum albumin level increased in Nucare group without statistical significance. but it decreased from normal to mild deficit in Control group. Serum total protein did not change significantly in Nucare group. but in Control group, serum total protein was decreased from 7.24±0.9 to 6.52±0.5(P<0.05). Total lymphocyte count did not change significantly in both groups. Conclusion : This study shows that the nutritional support with Nucare^R was effective in the prevention of nutritional deficit status in patients receving a nticancer chemotherapy.

      • 악성종양에서 혈청 Intercellular Adhesion Molecule-1의 혈청

        Intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) is a glycoprotein serving as ligands for leukocyte intergrin receptors, i.e. LFA-1, MAC-l. It has been suggested that the expression of ICAM-1 and the levels of circulating ICAM-1 were increased in several malignancies. We measured serum ICAM-1 by ELISA in patients with stomach cancer (n=25), acute lymphoblastic leukemia (n=7), non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (n=14), and metastasis of unknown origin (n=5). Serum levels of circulating ICAM-1 in all malignancies were significantly higer than in normal controls. And serum level of ICAM-1 in stomach cancer ptients having metastatic disease was higher than in patients with localized disease (p=0.027). These results suggest that elevated serum ICAM-1 is a rather common feature for malignancies, not unique for certain types of cancer such as malignant melanoma. It remains to be clalified whether marked increase of serum ICAM-1 in metastatic stomach cancers simply reflect tumor burden or this molecule plays a role in progression in stomach cancer.

      • Lactobacillus acidophilus 88과 Lactobacillus bulgaricus IFO 13953간의 세포융합주의 특성에 관한 연구

        유산균의 균주개량방법의 일환으로 protoplast fusion 기법과 electrofusion법을 이용하여 protease 활성, lipase 활성, 내열성, 내산성 등이 우수한 L. bulgaricus 와 bacteriocin을 생산하는 L. acidophilus를 융합시켜 얻은 융합주들의 생리학적 성질을 검토하였다. 산 생성능, 내열성, 내산성, protease, lipase 활성 등은 L. bulgaricus가 L. acidophilus 보다 우수하였다. L. bulgaricus는 lactose와 sorbose를 이용하였으나 maltose와 sorbitol을 이용하지 못하는 반면, L. acidophilus는 maltose를 이용하고 lactose와 sorbose를 이용하지 못하였다. 융합주 가운데서는 3, 6, 7, 8, 10번이 모균주의 발효능 특성을 함께 지님으로서 재조합체임을 확인 할 수 있었으며, sorbitol의 경우 모균주에서는 발효능이 전혀 나타나지 않았음에도 불구하고 융합주 4, 7번이 발효능을 나타내어 융합과정에서 새로운 형질을 획득하기도 한다는 사실을 알 수 있었다. Lactase 활성은 모균주 모두 높은 β-galactosidase 활성을 보였으나, phospho-β-galactosidase 활성은 거의 없었으며 융합주들도 다소 차이는 있었지만 모균주와 유사한 효소 활성을 나타내었다. 발효에 있어서 key enzyme으로 작용하는 protease, lipase 등의 효소 활성도 모균주의 활성 보다 우수한 융합주도 존재하였다. Aninterspecific fusant was made from the protoplasts of two strains of lactobacillus genus (streptomycin and lincomycin resistant L. bulgaricus and kanamycin resistant L. acidophilus 88). The functional properties of the fusant were examined by determining bacteriocin productivity, acid producing activity, ability of carbohydrates fermentation and three important enzyme activities. The recombinant strain revealed bacteriocin productivity. Acid production and β galactosidase, phospho-β-galactosidase, lipase and protease activity of L. bulgaricus were better than those of L. acidophilus 88. Among fusants, β-galactosidase activity of two strains were better than that of the parent strains but phospho-β-galactosidase activity remarkably lower. One fusant revealed the improved proteolysis compared to that of the parent strains- Lipase activity of L. bulgaricus was better than that of L. acidophilus but another fusant exhibited the highest lipase activity.

      • 김치 유산균인 Lactobacillus sp. JJ-2001이 생산하는 Bacteriocin에 관한 연구

        The microorganisms producing bacteriocin from kimch were screened, and among them,a strain showing the highest bacteriocin activity and stability was isolated. Based on the taxonomic characteristics of its morphological, cultural and physiological properties, the isolatef strain was characterized as Lactobacilius sp..To identify optimal conditions for the growth and the production of bacteriocin from the isolated strain,nutrient source, initial pH, and culture temperature were evaluated. Physiochemical properties of bacteriocin was also investigated. The potimal condition for the production of bacteriocin and the cell growth was obtained at 2% glucose, 1% beef extract as organic nitrogen source,1%(NH_4)_2SO_4 as inorganic nitrogen source,and 0.1% Tween 80. The isolated strain showed the maximum growth at 25℃. The inhibitory range of its antimicrobial substance aginst gram positive bacteria was marrow and its inhibitory activity was maintained between pH3.0 and pH8.0. The antimicrobial activity of bacteriocin from the isolated strain was stable at 50℃.

      • 구조용 중탄소강 SM45C의 열처리에 따른 기계적 성질변화

        The aim of this study is to find out the relationships between the microstructures of SM45C(AIS11045) steel and fatigue crack propagation behaviour. Three microstructures such as (ⅰ) as received (fully annealed). (ⅱ) water quenched and tempered, and (ⅲ) ail quenched and tempered were used for fundamental mechanical testing and fatigue crack proagation test. The microstructures of (ⅱ) and (ⅲ) showed superior in tensile strength to (ⅰ). Resistance against fatigue crack propagation was higher in structure (ⅰ), while tensile properties were better in structures(ⅱ) and (ⅲ). It is believed due to that the enhancement of roughness of fracture surface obsered in structure (ⅰ) increases ?Kth and lowers fatigue crack growth rate. However it does not necessarily mean the quenched and tempered structures (ⅱ) and (ⅲ) are undesirable for the engineering component because fatigue limit in low cycle test appears usually higher in the microstructures of higher strength.

      • 벼농사용 주요 농기계의 적정 교채시기 분석

        Farm machineries are subjected to deterioration with usage and age. System deterioration is often reflected in high production costs and lower product quality. To keep production costs down while maintaining good quality, preventive maintenance is often performed on systems subject to deterioration, The growing importance of maintenance has generated an increasing interest in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance models for deteriorating systems. The deterioration law of farm machineries, old-fashioned, inadequateness, i.e., the change of state, is assumed to follow a semi-Markov process made in accordance with a discrete Markov chain and time spent in each state before a transition occurs is random variable depending on the transition. These rates depend upon the holding time in the states and the actions can be changed at any point in time, not just at transsition time. Since all states ordered, it is presumably more cost to operate the machine in a less desirable state. The system is observed periodically and classified into one of a finite number of states. On the basis of the observations certain maintenance or replacement decisions are made. Transitions probabilities from state to state are determined by the decisions. These actions will bring the system back to the better states with probability. Using a simplex algorithm drawn from the area of Linear Programming, this study demonstrates how a typical sequential probabilistic model may be formulated in terms of a decision rule, specifying order quantities as a function of initial state conditions, and a semi-Markov process in which the transition probabilities depend both upon the decision rule and also upon the probabilities distribution of states. The results of this study were as follows; The average span of major items of farm machineries are 131.9 ha in tractor, 102.4 ha in rice transplanter 6-rows, and 145.5 ha in 4-rows combine. The optimal policy calls for self preventive maintenance and repairing cost is 800,000won the tractor when it is in state 0 and state 1, consignment preventive maintenance and repairing cost is 2000,000 - 2140,000 won when in state 2 and 3. The optimal policy calls for self preventive maintenance and repairing cost is 800,000 won the 4-rows combine when it is in state 0 and 1, consignment preventive maintenance and repairing cost is 2,920,000 won when it is in state 2, overhaul cost is 3,980,000 won when it is in state 3. The optimal policy call for self proventive maintenance and repairing cost is 290,000 won the 6-rows transplanter when it is in state 0 and 1, consignment preventive maintenance and repairing cost is 970,000 - 1,070,000 won when it is in state 2 and 3.

      • Ellipticine과 그 이성질체들에 대한 분자궤도함수론적 연구

        Molecular orbital studies were carried out for the ellipticine and its isomers, known as having antitumor activity and cytotocity, by semiemperical PM3. Electrostatic potential studies have shown that the most reactive site of proton attacks was the nitrogen atom in carbazol ring. The net charge of the nitrogen was linearly correlated with the basicity of the isomers. We have predict the antitumor activity of the isomer by the basis of the dipole moment [suggested by Barone et.al. J. Mole. Stru.(Theochem) (1992), 253, 319]. And we have suggested that frontier orbital theory is valuable to explain for the formation of covalent adducts. These results may suggest clues that the method how to interpretate the mechanism of action for ellipticine and how to design new drugs.

      • 경북 지역의 지하수 수질에 관한 연구 2 : 깊이에 따른 지하수의 상태에 관한 연구 Study on he State of Ground Water by the Depth

        We investigated the contamination of ground water in Kyungbuk region about 87 points by the depth. The obtained results were as follows; 1. It was showed that nitrate nitrogen is highest and Cl^- is lowest for life used. 2. It was showed that nitrate nitrogen concentration is high in adjacent region of nightsoil treatment plant, COD is high in specific waste landfill and electric conductivity is high in golf field. 3. It showed that the relationship between depth and pH and nitrate nitrogen is good. pH is increased and nitrate nitrogen is decreased according to the depth.

      • 태권도 품새 수련이 아동의 심박수, 심근산소소비량, 에너지 대사에 미치는 영향

        The Taegeuk Poomse 1 through 8 of Taekwondo are based upon eight major branches of philosophical theories. The propose of this study was to investigate the nfluence of Taekwondo poomse trainning on heart rate, MVO2, energy metabolism in primary school students. Subjects for this study were eight male the fifth∼sixth grades students who participated in exercise program consist of Taekwondo poomse trainning in dojang which is located in Shinlim-2dong, Kwanak-Gu, Seoul(12.7± 0.5years, 150.8 ±4.6cm, 45.1 ± 9.4kg, 24.9 ± 9trainning length). The results of thet this study are as follows: 1) The average of heart rate was Taegeuk Poomse 1 through 8 of Taekwondo 90.57± 4.gbeats/min in rest and 139.7 ± 17.5beats/min in exercise. The minimum heart rate was 89.0±2.8, peak heart rate was 167.1 ±6.4 in exercise. It was ranged from 42% to 80% 2) of the max heart rate and ranged 42 to 65%HRmax. Taegeuk 1 Jang was differenced with others Jangs significantly(p<0.05), 2) The time of the Taegeuk 1 through 8 Jang of Taekwondo was 5minutes 12seconds. Heart rate was ranged from 90.6 ± 7.85beats/min to 171.8 ±8.Ibeats/min and increased linearly. 3) The average of the MVO2 was 11.1 ±0.78mmHg · bpm-3 in rest and 19.1 ± 1.2mmHg ㆍbpm-3 in exercise. MVO2 was ranged from 10.5mmHg · bpm-3 to 20.3mmHg · bpm-3. There were not difference between Taegeuk Poomses(p<0.05). 4) The energy metabolism was as follows: Mean VO2 Respiratory exchange ratio, energy consumption were 0.51(V02L/min),0.71(RQ),2.32Ckca1/min) in rest respectively. but In exercise Mean VO2 Respiratory exchange ratio, energy consumption were 0.89 ± 0.18( V 02L/min), 0.79±0.08(RQ), 4.26±0.51(kcal/min) respectively . The difference was only between Taegeuk 1 Jang and Taegeuk 3 Jang(p<0.05). This study showed that the Taekwondo Poomse trainning was proper exercise for fitness, body composition and weight control in normal, abnormal(obese) children because the Taekwondo trainning are dynamic and exciting sport.
