        Delayed Anaphylaxis to Red Meat Associated With Specific IgE Antibodies to Galactose

        ducAnovel delayed anaphylactic reaction to red meat, associated with tick bites and IgE antibodies against galactose-α-1, 3-galactose (α-gal), was reported in 2009 in the US, Australia and Europe. In this case, serum specific IgE to galactose-α-1, 3-galactose (>100 kU/L) and IgE to multiple non-primate mammalian proteins were positive. However, the pathogenesis of this disease remains unclear. We report the first case in Asia of delayed anaphylactic reaction to red meat, which was induced by bites from the hard tick, Hematophagous ixodidae. We confirmed the increased concentration of IgE reactive epitopes in non-primate mammalian organs, which may be rich in α-gal proteins in lymphatic and endothelial tissues. All confirmed ticks associated with this disorder in the literature and in our case belonged to the hard tick family.         单元与国际体系的互动是国际体系演化的核心动力。西方特别是美国的国际关系理论存在着去历史化的特征, 缺乏从非西方国家与国际体系互动的视角来寻求理论创新与突破的成果。本文从大历史、近代史和现代史的三重视角来探讨中国成长为体系性大国的历史背景与现实路径, 分析中国作为一个体系性大国成长的外交传统、理念与内生动力。中国的体系性大国成长之路, 实质是中国与国际体系融合、摩擦、冲突与裂变的进程以及在互动中大国实力、身份与地位的认知与再塑造。毛泽东时代的国际主义外交与邓小平时代的现实主义外交构成了体系性大国外交的传统, 革命外交与发展外交夯实了体系性大国外交的理念基石。新时代中国应顺应世界的百年大变局, 实现与国际体系的共同演化, 构建契合体系性大国实力、地位与身份的特色大国外交体系。2018年中美贸易摩擦引发的中美脱钩问题是对中国体系性大国外交战略定力与耐心的重大考验。 The interaction between unit and international system is the core of the evolution of international system. Western theories of international relations, especially those of the United States, are characterized by de historicalization and lack of theoretical innovation and breakthrough from the perspective of interaction between non-western countries and the international system. This paper discusses the historical background and realistic path of China’s growth into a systematic power from the perspective of great history, modern history, and analyzes the diplomatic tradition, idea and internal motivation of China’s growth as a systematic power. The growth path of China’s systematic power is essentially the process of integration, friction, conflict and fission between China and the international system, as well as the remolding of the strength, identity and status of a great power in the interaction. The internationalist diplomacy in Mao Zedong’s era and the realistic diplomacy in Deng Xiaoping’s era constitute the tradition of systematic great power diplomacy, and revolutionary diplomacy and developing diplomacy consolidate the ideological foundation of systematic great power diplomacy. In the new era, China should conform to the great changes of the world in the past century, realize the co-evolution with the international system, and build a characteristic great power diplomatic system that conforms to the strength, status and identity of a systematic power.Trade friction between China and the United States in 2018 is a major test of China’s systematic power’s diplomatic strategic determination and patience.

      • Research of Forest Fire Smoke Recognition Method Based on Gray Bit Plane Technology

        Apply the separation principle of the physical contradictions in TRIZ into the simulation of forest fire smoke and propose a forest fire smoke recognition algorithm based on gray bit-plane(short in FFSGBP) to change the problem of identifying the smoke into the analysis on the bit-plane images. To get eight images of moving smoke, the separation process on smoke moving images is necessary; use high-diagram image (the 7th,the 8th image) to extract contours, and extract the contour of the remaining images in the same position. Superimpose the information extracted, get the smoke model. By adding motion operators to the original image, we could simulate the motion of discrete smoke better, by using mean filter, we could reduce the influence of noise, and it can improve the reliability of the experiments. The results show that compared with the traditional method based on HSI model, the proposed algorithm can achieve the fire smoke detection quickly and obtain the contour model of the smoke inside efficiently and accurately.

        Design and simulation of 500 MHz single cell superconducting RF cavity for SILF

        Shenzhen Innovation Light source Facility (SILF) is a 3.0 GeV fourth generation diffraction limited synchrotron light source currently under construction in Shenzhen. The SILF storage ring is proposed to use two 500 MHz single cell superconducting radio frequency (SRF) cavities to provide 2.4 MV RF voltage. In this study, we examined the geometric structure of mature CESR superconducting cavities and adopted a beam-pipe-type extraction scheme for high-order modes (HOM). One of the objectives of SRF cavity design and optimization in this study is to reduce Ep/Eacc and Bp/Eacc as much as possible to reduce power loss and ensure stable operation of the cavity. To reduce the risk of beam instability and thermal breakdown, the HOM and Multipacting (MP) are simulated. Moreover, the mechanical properties of the cavity are analyzed, including frequency sensitivity from pressure of liquid helium (LHe), stress, tuning, Lorentz force detuning (LFD), the microphone effect, and buckling. By comprehensive design and optimization of 500 MHz single-cell SRF cavities, a superconducting cavity for SILF storage ring was developed. This paper will detailed present the design and simulation.

        Composite action of concrete-filled double circular steel tubular stub columns

        This paper presents a combined numerical, experimental, and theoretical study on the behavior of the concrete-filled double circular steel tubular (CFDT) stub columns under axial compressive loading. Four groups of stub column specimens were tested in this study to find out the effects of the concrete strength, steel ratio and diameter ratio on the mechanical behavior of CFDT stub columns. Nonlinear finite element (FE) models were also established to study the stresses of different components in the CFDT stub columns. The change of axial and transverse stresses in the internal and external steel tubes, as well as the change of axial stress in the concrete sandwich and concrete core, respectively, was thoroughly investigated for different CFDT stub columns with the same steel ratio. The influence of inner-to-outer diameter ratio and steel ratio on the ultimate bearing capacity of CFDT stub columns was identified, and a reasonable section configuration with proper inner-to-outer diameter ratio and steel ratio was proposed. Furthermore, a practical formula for predicting the ultimate bearing capacity was proposed based on the ultimate equilibrium principle. The predicted results showed satisfactory agreement with both experimental and numerical results, indicating that the proposed formula is applicable for design purposes.

        Control and Measurement System for the Tuning of a PEFP Low-Beta Superconducting RF Cavity

        The superconducting RF (SRF) cavity is being considered to accelerate the proton beam in the proton engineering frontier project (PEFP) linac and for its post-project. In order to correct for the frequency shift and the field flatness variation of a TM010 mode in a raw PEFP multi-cell (SRF) cavity caused by manufacturing errors and welding shrinkage during its production, a field flatness tuning system has been developed. A new control and measurement system has been successfully developed for the relevant tuning system. The system automatically controls the bead's forward movement to a designated position and back to its original point and it also drives the network analyzer to measure and acquire the data on the SRF cavity while the bead is moving through the SRF cavity. After the bead has past through the cavity, the control and measurement system provides the cavity's field flatness and the tuning frequencies of the individual cells. The experiments in this study revealed that the control and measurement system is reliable. By using this control and measurement system, the field flatness of a PEFP low-beta cavity can be tuned from 75.62 % at 697.925 MHz to 1.43 % at 700 MHz, which can satisfy the control requirement.

        Epidemiological Factors of Stroke: A Survey of the Current Status in China

        Stroke is the leading cause of death in China and confers a huge burden and effort on patients and health professionals. China has the world’s largest population and has been experiencing a rapid economic development. In this article, we review the current status of stroke epidemiological features and risk factors, and the recently ongoing stroke epidemiological survey in China. Epidemiological studies suggested that stroke incidence increases with age and that the elderly population is expected to increase over time in China. Stroke mortality increased gradually from 1990 to 2000 but declined since the beginning of the 21st century, probably related to better control of vascular risk factors and the advances in acute stroke care. The Chinese lifestyle has changed rapidly during the past 3 decades. Moreover, China is a big country with substantial geographic disparities. The geographical variation and chronological trend of vascular risk factors may determine changes in the prevalence and subtypes of stroke in China. In this review, the current Chinese researches on the critical management of stroke and the potential direction and support of the Chinese government are discussed.

        Functionalized moso bamboo powder adsorbent for Cd(II) complexes with citric acid/tartrate acid: characterization, adsorptive performance, and mechanism

        A new amine group functionalized moso bamboo powder adsorbent (AMBP) was prepared using a facile procedure to remove Cd(II) complexes with citric acid (CA) and tartrate acid (TA). The properties of the AMBP were characterized using SEM, FTIR, XPS, BET, and an elemental analysis. The adsorptive performances of the AMBP toward Cd(II)-CA/TA were investigated. The results indicated that amine group was successfully introduced, and the AMBP with a BET specific surface area of 0.463 ㎡/g was effective in adsorbing Cd(II)-CA/TA under pH 4.0–10.0. The removal of Cd(II) increased significantly when the Cd(II)/ligand molar ratio changed from 1:0.5 to 1:2. The adsorption processes of Cd(II)-CA/TA were endothermic and fit well with the pseudo-second-order kinetic model (R² > 0.999). The Langmuir model (qmax of 14.41 and 7.58 mg/g for Cd(II)-CA and Cd(II)-TA, respectively) fit the isotherms better than the Freundlich model. The AMBP could be regenerated by HCl and reused at least 4 times. The uptake mechanisms of Cd(II)-CA/TA were proposed to be physisorption and the chemisorption of the coordination between –NH₂/–NH and the Cd(II). This work shows that the AMBP is an adsorbent with high practical value to remove Cd(II) in water or wastewater containing CA/TA.

        Evaluation of Six Phenotypic Methods for the Detection of Carbapenemases in Gram-Negative Bacteria With Characterized Resistance Mechanisms

        Background: We compared the performance of the modified Hodge test (MHT), Triton Hodge test (THT), Carba NP test (CNPt), simplified Carba NP test (CNPt-direct), blue-Carba NP test (BCT), and carbapenem inactivation method (CIM) for rapid and accurate carbapenemase detection. Methods: The methods were evaluated by using 256 gram-negative isolates, including 197 Enterobacteriaceae (79 Enterobacter spp., 74 Klebsiella spp., 33 Escherichia coli, 10 Citrobacter spp., and 1 Serratia marcescens), 51 Acinetobacter baumannii, and 8 Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains. The collection included 117 non-carbapenemase, 18 Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemases (KPC) producers, 46 New Delhi metallo-β-lactamases (NDM) producers, 11 imipenemases (IMP) producers, and 51 oxacillinases (OXA) producers, and 13 strains harboring two different carbapenemase genes. Results: The specificity of the THT (91.5%) was significantly lower than other methods, each of which had 100% specificity (P<0.003). This can be attributed to the false detection of Ampler class C β-lactamases (AmpC) carriers. The CNPt-direct and CIM yielded the highest sensitivities (P<0.003), which were comparable (92.8% vs 93.5%, P>0.999). Because of improved detection of NDM carriers, THT showed significantly higher sensitivity than the MHT (84.9% vs 75.5%, P<0.001). However, poor performances in detecting OXA still influenced the sensitivities of the CNPt (66.2%) and BCT (82.0%), as well as the MHT and THT. Conclusions: CNPt-direct and CIM demonstrated the best performance for the efficient detection of carbapenemase among the six evaluated methods. Except the MHT and THT, the detection of carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae by all the other methods was acceptable, when the OXA-type carbapenemase was not prevalent.
