      • Italy Milano의 디스플레이(Display) 경향에 관한 연구 : 2000-2001 S/S시즌을 중심으로

        본 연구는 2000년과 2001년 S/S 시즌의 Milano 패션거리의 매장에 나타난 디스플레이의 경향을 연구한 것이다. 패션 거리에서 윈도우 디스플레이 자료를 사진으로 수집하여 분석한 결과는 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다. 첫째, 매장 연출의 소재를 고급화하여 브랜드와 상품의 가치를 높이는 효과를 창출하였다. 둘째, 소비자의 시선을 집중하기 위해 다양한 색채의 조합을 사용하여 매장을 연출하였다. 셋째, 윈도 매장 연출시, 토털 코오디네이션 개념에 의해 다양한 상품을 소비자에게 볼 수 있도록 하였다. 넷째, 디스플레이시 인테리어 개념에 입각하여 윈도 매장을 전체적으로 공간감을 지닌 무대와 같이 연출하였다. 연구결과에서와 같이 현대사회는 소비자의 다양한 욕구는 패션 산업을 변화시키고 있으며, 이러한 변화에 맞추어 디스플레이라는 적극적인 개념이 마케팅에서 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있었다. 현재의 상황에서는 디스플레이에 관한 정보수집 환경은 열악한 조건에 있다고 할 수 있다. 그래서 이 분야의 정보를 집결해 놓은 기구가 없으므로 패션 정보에 의존한다든가 개인적인 능력에 따라 정보 수집 및 활용을 하고 있는데, 기업 종사자 각자의 노력과 투자로 수집될 수 있는 해외정보는 한정되어 있고 경비와 시간의 투자가 뒤따른다. 아직 초기 단계에 있는 이 분야의 관심이 높아지고 있으므로 보다 적극적으로 받아들이고 발전시키기 위해서는 '대학과 기업간의 학제적인 교류'가 더욱 활발해져야 하고 이를 받쳐 줄 수 있는 정보공유를 위한 시스템도 갖추어져야 할 것이다. 또한 맹목적인 모방을 벗어나 이론적 체계를 쌓고 실무적 체계를 개선시켜 '한국형의 디스플레이의 개발'로 '한국 디스플레이의 스타일'이 세워질 수 있도록 더욱 노력해 나가야 할 것이다.

        Necrotizing pancreatitis develops in about 10-20% of patients with acute pancreatitis, and pancreatic abscesses develop in 3% of them. The mortality of pancreatic abscess has been reported up to 40% in one study. Recently, there are several reports that show good results with n on-surgical therapy, such as percutaneous drainage and endoscopic drainage, but if the non-surgical drainage fails, surgical therapy are recommended. However, there is no definite therapeutic method which is suggested yet so far after the failure of the surgical drainage. So we report the case in which we experienced successful treatment of pancreatic abscess by endoscopic removal of necrotic tissue through the gastrocystostomy, after the failure of the surgical debridement and internal drainage through gastrocystostomy.

      • CFRP 적층판의 초음파 특성평가

        Ultrasonic NDE of composite laminates is usually analyzed on the backwall echoes of the specimen. In the inspection of actual composite structures, the back surface of the part was curved or contained complex geometry and did not provide a usable backwall echo. In this work, a one-sided pitch-catch setup was used in the detection and evaluation of flaws and material anomalies in solid composite laminates. Two miniature potted Rayleigh wave transducers (for generating surface waves in contact mode on steel) were joined head-to-head and used in the pitch-catch mode on the surface of composites. The pitch-catch signal was found to be more sensitive than normal incidence backwall echo of longitudinal wave to fiber orientation of the CFRP composites, including low level porosity, ply waviness, and cracks.

      • 자가 면역성 간염에서 자가항체의 발현 양상과 스테로이드 치료의 효과

        목적 : 최근 8년간 본원에서 경험한 자기면역성 간염의 혈액학적 특징과 스테로이드의 치료효과를 알아보고자 본 연구를 시행하였다. 방법 : 1996년 이후부터 2002년까지 충남대학교 병원에서 1999년 International Autoimmune Hepatitis Group(LAHG)에서 제시한 수정 진단 기준안에 의거하여 총 진단점수가 probable 이상에 해당하는 환자들을 대상으로 임상적 특징, 검사실 및 조직 소견과 스테로이드와 azathioprine의 치료 효과를 후향적으로 조사하였다. 결과 : 9예의 환자들은 여성이 78%, 40대가 많았고, 급성 발병이 33.3%, 피로감, 식욕부진 및 황달 등이 나타났으며, 항핵항체가 55.6%에서 그리고 항평활근 항체가 77.8%에서 양성이었고, 동반 질환은 류마치스 관절염이 2예, 특발성 혈소판 감소증 1예, Henoch-Sch nlein 자반증 및 그레브스병이 각각 1예 씩이었다. 7예에 대해서 스테로이드와 azathioprine으로 치료하여 생화학적 임상적 완해가 이루어져서 유효한 치료 결과를 얻었다. 결론 : 자가면역성 간염은 우리 나라에서 원인을 찾을 수 없는 만성 간질환의 경우, 특히 중년여성에서 다른 자가면역성 질환이 동반되었을 때 자가면역성 간염을 의심하여 자가항체 선별검사를 시행해 보아야 할 것으로 생각된다. 향후 다기관 연구를 통하여 좀 더 많은 증례를 모으고 전향적인 연구를 시행하여야 할 필요가 있다. Although autoimmune hepatitis(AIH) is common in western contries, some studties have been reported in Korea. The aim of the study was to analyze the clinical and histological features and expression pattern of the autoantibody and to examine clinical course of AIH in Korea. For 9 patients diagnosed as having AIH in our hospital since 1996, we reviewed medical records and analyzed clinical and laboratory findings retrospectively. They had a probable or definite AIH according to the revised criteria of International AIH group. The mean age was 42.7(21∼68)years and 7(77.8%) were female. Three of them(33.3%) showed acute hepatitis and five of them showed cirrhosis. Fatigue and anorexia were the most frequently complained symptoms(55.6%). Four patients(44.4%) were accompanied with other autoimmune diseases. Antinuclear antibody was detected in 5(55.6%) and anti-smooth muscle antibody was detected in 7(77.8%). Three patients showed focal picemeal necrosis and four showed periportal fibrosis. Among 7 patients who received immunosuppressive therapy, six patients(85.7%) showed initial response. and biochemical and serologic remission were achived in 5(71.4%) and 3(42.8%) patients, AIH seems to be partly responsible for chronic liver disease of unknown etiology in Korea. AIH should be suspected in female patients with unknown chronic liver disease of unknown etiolgy, especially accompanied with other autoimmune disease. The clinical characteristics of AIH may not be quite different from those of Western countries.

      • 페야쿠르트병을 이용한 오수정화시설의 유기물 처리 특성 및 서식 미생물 분류

        The average concentration of BOD, SS, TKN and T-P of influent were 94.81, 105.58, 9.72㎎/L, respectively. Also, these average concentration of effluent were 7.94, 2.98, 18.21 and 4.95㎎/L, respectively. The corresponding removal efficiencies were 91.33% in BOD, 97.18% in SS, 67.30% in TKN and 49.0% in T-P. The process of this system was maintained stably because of flowing by gravity. The media used for this study was Yakult filter with specific surface area of 130㎡/㎥ and surface loading rate of 28㎡/㎥. In this system, the removal efficiencies of SS and sludge were higher than those of activated sludge process. Twenty eight senora and sixty eight species of aerobic bacteria were identified from floating water and Yakult filters in the septic tank. Especially, only two strains of the bacteria were found from the effluent. Alcaligenes, Corynebacterium, Flavobacterium, Pseudomonas, and Staphylococcus of the bacteria were found, and they were known as excellent bacteria for the degradation of organic matter. Also, Alcaligenes, Bacillus, Flavobacterium, Micrococcus, Proteus and Pseudomonas, which can denitrification organic matter, were found and phosphorus removal bacteria, Acinetobacter was identified.

      • THE KOMPSAT-I PAYLOADS OVERVIEW

        Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KAKI) is developing a Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite I (KOMPSAT-1) which accommodates Electro-Optical Camera (EOC), Ocean Scanning Multi-spectral Imager (OSMI), and Space Physics Sensor (SPS). The satellite has the weight of about 500kg and will be operated on the 10:50 AM sun-synchronized orbit with the altitude of 685 km. The satellite will be launched in 1999 and its lifetime is expected to be over 3 years. The main mission of EOC is the cartography to provide the images from a remote earth view for the production of 1/25000-scale maps of KOREA. EOC collects 510 - 730 nm panchromatic imagery with the ground sample distance(GSD) of 6.6 m and the swath width of 17 km by push broom scanning. EOC also can scan ±45 degree across the ground track using body pointing method. The primary mission of OSMI is worldwide ocean color monitoring for the study of biological oceanography. It will generate 6 band ocean color images with 800 km swath width and 1km GSD by whiskbroom scanning. OSMI is designed to provide on-orbit spectral band selectability in the spectral range from 400 nm to 900 nm through ground command. This flexibility in band selection can be used for various applications and will provide research opportunities to support the next generation sensor design. SPS consists of High Energy Particle Detector (HEPD) and Ionosphere Measurement Sensor (IMS). HEPD has missions to characterize the low altitude high-energy particle environment and to study the effects of radiation environment on microelectronics. IMS measures densities and temperature of electrons in the ionosphere and monitors the ionospheric irregularities at the KOMPSAT orbit.

        Hydroxyurea Induces a Hypersensitive Apoptotic Response in Mouse Embryonic Stem Cells Through p38-Dependent Acetylation of p53

        <P>While hydroxyurea (HU) is well known to deplete dNTP pools and lead to replication fork arrest in the cell, the mechanisms by which it exerts a cell response are poorly understood. Here, our results suggest that mouse embryonic stem cells (mESCs), unlike terminally differentiated cells such as mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs), rapidly respond to low concentrations of HU by p53 acetylation, leading to activation of the caspase-dependent apoptotic pathway. We show that HU treatment induces the production of nitric oxide (NO), which plays a central role in the rapid induction of apoptosis in mESCs. By contrast, reactive oxygen species, which are expressed at significantly higher levels in mESCs compared with MEFs, are not related to the HU response. Furthermore, on exposure to HU, the p38 signaling pathway becomes activated in a dose-dependent manner, and chemical inhibition of the p38 pathway attenuates HU-dependent apoptosis in mESCs. Our data reveal that acetylation of p53 as a result of HU-dependent NO production plays a key role in the induction of the apoptotic response in mESCs. Finally, p38 signaling appears to be the main pathway underlying the activation of apoptosis in mESCs in response to HU exposure.</P>

        Identification of putative serum glycoprotein biomarkers for human lung adenocarcinoma by multilectin affinity chromatography and LC-MS/MS

        <P>Glycoproteins in human serum play fundamental roles in many biological processes, and also have clinical value as biomarkers for disease progression and treatment. In this study, we isolated glycoproteins from the sera of three healthy individuals and three lung adenocarcinoma patients using multilectin affinity chromatography. The recovered glycoproteins were subjected to treatment with peptide-N-glycosidase F (PNGase F) and in-gel digestion by trypsin. Tryptic peptides were analyzed by nano-LC coupled to ESI-MS/MS and the MS/MS spectra were processed by Bioworks 3.2 and an in-house bioinformatics tool, ProtAn. Approximately 90% of the proteins identified contained more than one potential glycosylation site. Comparison of the serum glycoproteome of healthy and adenocarcinoma individuals revealed 38 cancer-selective proteins. Among them, 60% have previously been reported as low abundance proteins in human sera. We identified several cancer-selective proteins that have been previously characterized as potential indicators of lung cancer in serum or plasma, including haptoglobin (HP), inter-α-trypsin inhibitor heavy chain 4 (ITI-H4), complement C3 precursor, and leucine-rich α-2-glycoprotein. In addition, plasma kallikrein (KLKB1) and inter-α-trypsin inhibitor heavy chain 3 (ITI-H3) were identified as being potentially elevated in the lung cancer group, and were validated by Western blot analysis. Furthermore, ∼18 kDa plasma kallirein protein fragment was detected at high levels in 25 out of 28 adenocarcinoma patients, while one of the eight normal individuals showed moderate positive. The results suggest that KLKB1 represents a potential candidate serum biomarker of lung cancer.</P>

      • Fabry disease: characterisation of the plasma proteome pre- and post-enzyme replacement therapy

        <P><B>Background</B></P><P>Fabry disease is characterised by the progressive accumulation of globotriaosylceramide (Gb3) and related glycosphingolipids in vascular endothelial cells. Enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) clears this accumulation. We analysed plasma proteome profiles before and after ERT to characterise its molecular pathology.</P><P><B>Methods</B></P><P>Two-dimensional electrophoresis and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionisation-time of flight tandem mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) and tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) were done using plasma samples before and after ERT in eight patients with classical Fabry disease</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>After short-term ERT (4–12 months), the levels of 15 plasma proteins involved in inflammation, oxidative and ischaemic injury, or complement activation were reduced significantly. Among them, β-actin (ACTB), inactivated complement C3b (iC3b), and C4B were elevated significantly in pre-ERT Fabry disease plasma compared with control plasma. After longer-term ERT (46–96 months), iC3b levels gradually decreased, whereas the levels of other proteins varied. The gradual reduction of iC3b was comparable to that of Gb3 levels. In addition, iC3b increased significantly in pre-ERT Fabry disease mouse plasma, and C3 deposits were notable in renal tissues of pre-enzyme replacement therapy patients.</P><P><B>Conclusion</B></P><P>These results indicated that C3-mediated complement activation might be altered in Fabry disease and ERT might promote its stabilisation.</P>
